Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Jack - 05-08-2009 Fix that shit before I get owned. =( Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Pinky - 05-08-2009 Ashe Wrote:Yeah, it was the complete opposite of what I wanted, since apparently the tooltips are backwards. BUT HEY THAT'S GOOD FOR CHRIS BECAUSE OTHERWISE IT'D BE BULLSHIT!This is wrong. Troops alone are not very good for any kind of combat. Troop = 1 point. Troop + tier1 Item = 21 points. (20 for item, the soldier is still counted separately) It's easy to see how a small but well equipped military can defeat a large but poorly armed force. You could literally recreate the 300 Spartans scenario since 300 troops with items are worth approximately 6,300 points. Sheer troop numbers are not a good indication of one's battle strength. The real problem is that newer players have less money to buy stuff with and that is what makes them targets. I've mentioned to Waff about adding a money-trading scheme into the game so older players can aid their newer team members, but I don't know what's come of it or if it's even possible. Although the lames that just build and get defense power would be all lonely in their little bubbles I'm comfortable with that. Try and attack me. I'm in a bubble. Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Pinky - 05-08-2009 How about I stick mine to you? Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Jonathan Meer - 05-08-2009 Try? Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Pinky - 05-08-2009 All in good time, my dear. We'll settle this debate on my terms at a date of my choosing. We need a Conquest sub forum here. This thread is becoming cluttered. But, as long as nothing is being done about the current Training system and there's nowhere else to post, I'll throw my ideas up in here. This is running under the assumption that basic weapon/armor items will not change in cost, because that would throw the cost-effectiveness rates into complete chaos. Quote:Offensive Training Quote:Defensive Training The premise is to have a low-cost starting point, so that cost can grow exponentially without spiraling out of control. Starting at tier3, the cost-effectiveness begins shrinking rapidly, but each new level is significantly better than the one before it. This combines incentive to gain new levels periodically without creating a "Training > everything" imbalance. There are far fewer levels in this version, and it's because there's no need for 259034 different training levels that nobody will ever have. The last level, obviously, is ridiculous and for two good reasons: to make sure that there's always something to shoot for, and to be a game-ending purchase because if you can buy that then you've obviously already won. Feel free to poke at the number calculations yourselves. Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Jonathan Meer - 05-08-2009 Rod Hardwood Wrote:All in good time, my dear. For someone who has only seen my troop level, which itself is not a valid qualification of power, this is a dangerous gambit. I'm sure you believe your style is superior but there is a saying that describes this situation quite well: those who live upon hope die of fasting. You may have many troops but your turns are as limited as my own, assuming that I didn't begin playing before you, and it really comes down to which of us is spending their time more wisely. Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Jonathan Meer - 05-08-2009 Which is to say, I respect you deeply as a person, and your passion for online gaming, and your feelings, which I would never seek to enflame or otherwise besmirch. Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Ashe - 05-08-2009 Kaden Wrote:I'm assuming this was recently changed? I don't believe so, no. I'm under the impression that its still working the same on that level as it was before, with the only modifications being those noted in the patch notes I posted. Its entirely possible that I'm misunderstanding... all of this at this point. This conversation and its means of arriving at the conclusions posted have left me a bit perplexed. Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Kaden - 05-08-2009 I tried to attack someone that was within 90% of me and it failed, but I thought I had done that earlier. That's why I asked. Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Pinky - 05-08-2009 Can we get team forums that store more than two pages' worth of posts? The fact that we can't edit posts in the team forum is bad enough since it leads to more posting, but cutting posts after they get bumped off page two makes the problem so much worse. So, gimmie post editing or more forum pages or both pls. Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Ashe - 05-08-2009 Waffuru just informed me that he did indeed change that number to reflect my original intent. I was unaware of this change until just now. So yes, it is now only within 10% as intended. Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Ashe - 05-08-2009 Rod Hardwood Wrote:Can we get team forums that store more than two pages' worth of posts? But that's for another time, I have to get to bed tonight, I'll work on it tomorrow night if I am able. Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Pinky - 05-08-2009 Okay, there are three pages now, but every page shows the exact same posts. So, in effect there is only one forum page. :B Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Waffuru - 05-08-2009 You're pretty damn demanding. I'll look into it. Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Pinky - 05-08-2009 I have a habit of looking for flaws. It's the best way get the ball rolling on solutions, imo. Meer and Rod's Verbal Battlefield - Pinky - 05-08-2009 Wait, so the game rules suddenly changed to "you can only attack people who are within 10% of your troop count"? Ten percent is such a small number. D: Urge to demand... RISING |
