You lose 5 (FIVE!) turns, and you're guaranteed to lose (if I understand it correctly) at least 5% of your troop strength, even if you totally pimpslap the other team. Nah. You can lose 0 troops in a successful attack. Place ya' bets - Jack - 05-09-2009 Exactly. And I've done so many times, smarty pants'! Holy Christ, did I say adjectives? -_- Place ya' bets - Sage - 05-09-2009 It's okay, Jack. You're like, half-retard, right? EDIT: <3 u Jack Place ya' bets - Josh - 05-09-2009 Kaden Wrote:Nah. That's assuming anyone has the offense power to actually pull off a successful attack when I have a 6 digit defense. :x I just want to live freeeeeeeeeee Place ya' bets - Jack - 05-09-2009 Only 2/3rds, thank you very much. Place ya' bets - Kaden - 05-09-2009 What? What are you people talking about? Place ya' bets - Ashe - 05-09-2009 One thing that really upsets me is that the spies aren't more like Utopia. They should be an alternate battlefield. ALL they can do is gather intel, when they should be able to sabotage or espionage someone. Frustrating. Place ya' bets - Kaden - 05-09-2009 HOW DARE THIS NOT FUNCTION EXACTLY THE SAME AS SOMETHING ELSE!!!! God! If those types of people were railed into while having nothing but troops, that'd be over for them.We put all of our starting money into defense items first (everyone did), Josh and I specifically picked Nameks for their high defense bonus, and the turns being spent on troops buffed defense even more. Plus, we started abusing the game dynamics (legally, I assume you) to give us yet more edges. If anyone had attacked us it would have been a wasted effort that set the attacker back more than the defender. It might be a simple game, but there's more to it than you give it credit for, especially with team play. Or do you think Josh is #1 simply by luck of the draw? ;] Bil Baer Jaxx Wrote:I can't stress enough how useless that is when everyone is 1/5th of his size. But cool story, bro.Josh might not be fighting, but he's growing at such an absurd rate that nobody will ever be able to threaten him again. Plus, for the rest of us high-end Nameks there's battles to be had, and with more pressure: we're actively trying to grow while engaging in combat on the fly. It's like Clash of the Titans. But hey, if you enjoy it down there it's no skin off my back. Actually, it makes my job that much easier. Ashe Wrote:One thing that really upsets me is that the spies aren't more like Utopia. Frustrating. It's just different is all. iirc, in Utopia it was much easier to observe another player's battle strength. Now, spies practically have to find out an opponent's combat readiness to prevent waste of turns and troops, and stockpiling spies can prevent opponents from discovering the information they need. Plus, you have to manage your turns between training and income to still find the energy for a spy mission, which makes it more intense than having separate spy/army operations. It's not the greatest imperial simulator but it does okay for itself. Place ya' bets - Jack - 05-09-2009
Place ya' bets - Pinky - 05-09-2009 You wishing that I looked like that brings me a strange kind of joy. Place ya' bets - Jack - 05-09-2009 Thats moreso Josh, actually. You're that small dog that would run circles around the bigger dog in the old WB cartoon. EDIT: I just want to to take pics of your real life facial expressions when you get the best armor and everything. Will it be '=D!!!!', or '...=|'? Place ya' bets - Jonathan Meer - 05-09-2009 You're just jealous of a smart person that is exposing and taking advantage of the flaws in a computer game to gain a numerical victory over his foes. That's called smart thinkin', nubby num-nums. Place ya' bets - Kaden - 05-09-2009 It's actually called obsession at this point. Place ya' bets - Pinky - 05-09-2009 Bil Baer Jaxx Wrote:Thats moreso Josh, actually. You're that small dog that would run circles around the bigger dog in the old WB cartoon. Josh may be an MMORPG addict, but he's nothing like that South Park character was. He's the most passive and non-aggressive human being I've ever met. It's like he makes it a point to say out of conflict in every situation he ever gets into. Example: being so big in Conquest that nobody bothers him. I'm kinda like a little dog in comparison to what he's doing, but in the grand scheme of things I'm the one who's making things happen. The most noteworthy instances are when I aggravate people, something that I am very good at, but my most spectacular performances are the things you chumps do not see. And beyond that, I hate MMORPG's. I tried Ultima Online for a while, and the very concept of paying monthly fees to watch the same five animations for hours a day gets old fast - and MMO's have not gotten much better since those days. I am the yang to Josh's yin, and we work very well together. Maybe between the two of us you could find something akin to that South Park character, but are you really going to try that hard for such a lame joke? Place ya' bets - Ashe - 05-09-2009 To be honest, I picked Humans just to play the playstyle. Given that there is no well made competition, I didn't care about picking what I felt was the best faction, nor did I put thought into which faction I believed to be the best. The reason you think that you and Josh are at the top of the game is what I stated. You outgrew everyone based on recruiting troops and then used that imbalance of income gains multiplying with the number of troops to make it so that no one would bother to attack you while you also gained an enormous amount of gold whenever you wanted that you could spend on upgrades. Its not a super secret tech at all, and it would have been easy to disrupt had anyone tried. I don't see how you honestly think that you had some inevitable victory that no matter what happened you would have achieved it. About Utopia: I'm fairly sure you had a lot more to balance in there, if you want to get down to it. It was mostly a minor comment for convo's sake, but there was merit to it. This game isn't quite as complicated as you are trying to make it out to be (and thus also make a point of your "superior" intellect due to being the only person able to crack the complexity of it). If anyone does any kind of math at all, it comes down to "play the game with specific turn by turn plays and you'll outgrow everyone if no one bothers you", which yeah, all games can boil down to that. Most also have a lot more people that can interrupt you during those periods than we do on Chubbs. I think (not entirely certain) that in Utopia, you were able to find out your opponent's strengths and intel based on three methods. One were spies doing a recon mission. Two was one of the types of magic you could use (sight maybe?) to get this same intel if you were strong in magic and they had weak magic defense. Third was taking any and ALL information that you received (and what your kd received) and crap it through Angel and then spit out the results onto the forum which were then assimilated into everyone else's Angel to make sure that you knew the most likely outcome of the attack. Additionally, Prophet was used to do exactly the build strat simulator thing that you did here. I didn't see him trying very hard at all. He posted a single image followed by about three sentences. The response actually took a lot more effort than that. |
