I remember asking my spanish/frence teacher about it... yesterday I think it was, and she said that it meant 'hi' or something along those lines. But in any case the Romanian version is better no translated ^_^ loses the catchy sort of singing.

Goten, many European languages borrow heavily from Latin, which is why many have similarities, like French, Spanish, and Italian. So, Romanian has traces of Latin in it, as does French.
But it isn't French, I'm fluent in French, and there's many more differences than there are similarities.
