Its not that Kog is op or anything to that effect. Its that he's the absolute perfect destroyer of this current metagame. He's the silver bullet in the same way that some other characters are great until a specific meta settles down. I mean, of COURSE people that play all Sunfire Cape stacking tanks think he's overpowered. WHY WON'T HE JUST STAY THERE AND BURN TO DEATH LIKE EVERYONE ELSE?
They need more heroes like Kog. He's not like Garen, who is good against every laning combo and great early to late game and is a strong part of any and every team comp.

I think Kog fits my playstyle ridiculously well. Even though I only bought him recently, I've played him every time he's been free and have always liked him conceptually. He needs to be played both defensively and offensively. Which is awesome.

I hate Kog'Maw honestly. I have nothing against him as a character, but I really feel he's a Madred's Bloodrazor-or-nothing sort of character which makes laning with him very 'interesting' in my opinion, with new laners such as Vlad to not only match Kog's range with W with his own Q but he heals from it as well.
Also that passive is still bloody useless. The guy who thought 'let's have something that kicks in after the player has 'lost'' should be smacked across the face.

I 100% agree with his passive being a steaming pile of shit. The ONLY thing it's good for is stealing First Blood. I've pulled that off way more often than I would prefer.
He has quite a bit of versatility in the way you can build him, actually. He gets tons out of Attack Speed because of his W, can go straight AD pretty well because of his Q, and AP makes his E and R crazy strong. I've had a couple games where I don't bother with the Bloodrazor because of the enemy team comp and still done fine. Bloodrazor is the auto-build for him right now because of the meta.

Yeah but I mean the reason you go to Kog instead of any other standard carry IS the incredible synergy with Madred's Bloodrazor to counter the current tanky damage metagame.

I guess what I mean is...how enjoyable is this for someone who is looking for freeware? I'm sure if me and Laura got into it, we'd spend money on it, but is it fun if we don't?

The absolute only "fun" you'd be missing on is purchasing vanity things like skins (which you can easily customize with cut and paste if you don't care about others seeing it) or unlocking more characters quicker. You can earn points by playing the game to unlock them naturally while playing each week's "free" characters (that rotate who they are each week) until you can unlock more characters to keep (say someone you get decent with or like and don't want to wait for another rotation to have them back). Paying lets you shortcut it, but isn't required.

Yeah, paying does not get you ahead in the game. The only thing you can't get without paying is more skins, and there are programs to display whatever skin you want without paying... it only works on your computer but who cares?
