Bujin - Kazuya - 05-27-2008

Name: Bujin
Race: Non-Transformer
Age: 21
Height: 5’4”
Weight: 150 lbs.
Affiliation: None
Items: HQ, HQ gravity upgrade – Bujin randomly found this in a capsule. He really has no use for it, but keeps it around anyway. You know, for a rainy day.

Fighting Style: Calculating, raw – While those two qualities rarely mesh together, Bujin has developed a unique fighting style through the little excursions he’s been through. He likes to try to out-think opponents, and when he finds a weakness, he tries to exploit it relentlessly. His overall lack of experience keeps his style far from polished, but he feels he’s fast enough to cover the gap.

Appearance: Bujin is fairly lean, which is to be expected due to his stature. He knows he’s short, though obviously not the shortest in the universe. Despite this, he’s been called a midget for so long that even he is starting to call himself that. His skin is either a dark blue or green, depending on the lighting.

He always wears a purple turbin, no matter what. He’s had the thing since he was a child, and it has been through everything he’s been through – so much so that it’s spotted with blood. Baggy crimson-red clothing covers the rest of his body – he likes them, but is starting to wonder why everyone always calls them “odd”. While most of the warriors he’s been around, he doesn’t go for boots – instead, he wears your standard brown shoes.

Personality: He doesn’t like to consider himself an alien, despite knowing it to be true. He grew up around different people – whether it was on Vegeta or Earth, he knew that he was different than everyone. Because of this, he doesn’t hold a particular grudge against particular races, just because he has grown up with the realization that everyone can be different and still live together peacefully.

Bujin is typically lazy, though even since his experience with the Pantheon he’s been taking up the role of the up-and-coming noble warrior. He’s unsure of himself and his ability to uphold that role, but is willing to go through anything to grow stronger. He is just beginning to know the meaning of true power, and although he craves it, he’s afraid of what may come of it.

Lately, Bujin has been growing mentally unstable, which only fuels his self-doubt. During Dante’s Abyss, he experienced two distinct voices in his head – while he learned to deal with them temporarily, he began to have visions as a result and was unable to separate fantasy from reality. Death seems to have corrected this for the most part, but he is still afraid of his state of mind.

The small warrior is loyal, perhaps to a fault. He gains friends rather easily, and can become the sort of “social butterfly” in order to meet the needs of his diverse group of friends. Dante’s Abyss, though he knows the events that occurred weren’t in a real environment, has made him re-evaluate his position on trust, though he’s still willing to befriend anyone that comes along.

Bujin is typically sarcastic, and will crack a joke when it comes to him no matter what the situation. This might contribute to an eventual downfall, because his sarcastic streak may get on the nerves of the more serious warrior.

Relationships:

Celipa: Probably Bujin’s best friend, though he hasn’t seen her in a while. He first met her when he revived her, acting on a request from Android 16 as payment for passage on his ship. The two get along well, as their personalities match quite a bit. Bujin respects her as a fighter, even more now that he has taken the path of a warrior. He’d do almost anything for her.

Yamu: Bujin met the giant during Dante’s Abyss, and the two have formed an uneasy friendship. The small warrior knows next to nothing about Yamu – just enough to know that he can be trusted. Bujin respects Yamu’s power, and came to depend on it frequently during their experience with the Pantheon. He has no idea where Yamu is now, but he hopes they will meet again.

Android 16: Bujin has enough experience with 16 to know that he’s a good guy. After all, he befriended the small warrior when he caught him sneaking onto his ship instead of ripping him in half.

Paragus: Bujin met the one-eyed wonder when he met Yamu. He knows nothing about him or his whereabouts.

Jeice: Bujin met Jeice with Paragus and Yamu. Like Paragus, he has no idea what kind of person he is, or where he is residing these days.

Retane: Bujin detests this Namek, both as a person and an intellectual. He thinks Retane is an idiot because of what he did during the Pantheon crisis, and wouldn’t hesitate to attack him if he ever saw him again.

Techniques:

Ki Sword: Bujin channels a small amount of ki into his hand and creates a blade. This is primarily a melee attack, but it has uses similar to a pocket knife (slicing through restraints, clearing a path, etc.)

Shotgun: Creating a ball of ki in the palm of his hand, Bujin releases it with great velocity, creating recoil that is similar to a shotgun. This can be used as a one-shot attack, or can be used in rapid succession, though the latter can be quite taxing.

Energy Wave: Bujin got too lazy to give this attack a special name. It’s basically your standard energy beam, powered by drawing ki from both hands and releasing it in one stream.

Abilities:

None.

History:

Bujin’s story didn’t really get interesting until he was 20. Living on Vegeta, he made a living by reading fortunes to the Saiyan soldiers that were stationed there. Despite having no psychic powers whatsoever, he was still able to continue his practice with overwhelming success for a very long time. That is, until one of the soldiers didn’t like his fortune and attacked with his squad, forcing the small warrior to flee the planet.

Unsure of what to do, he snuck into a ship just before it took off. Relieved, he dodged the lone pilot – Android 16 -- for days. When he was finally caught, the android, bitter about the loss of his friends during some sort of war, let him go as long as he did him one favor – revive his friend, Celipa. Left with little choice, Bujin accepted and took a trip to Baba’s.

When he arrived, he paid for the revival and met the energetic Celipa, and the two became fast friends. They participated in Dante’s Abyss: Conquest together, and met up with each other again briefly afterwards. Celipa abandoned Bujin in the middle of a desert, however, straining their friendship temporarily as the midget tried to find a way out.

His way out came in the form of a car…when it hit him. The frantic woman driving across the desert was in too much of a hurry to stop. However, the crash only hurt Bujin a little bit, and he managed to crawl into the passenger seat next to her, demanding a ride to the nearest town. Shrugging, the woman agreed, and they traveled to her home – a desert prison owned by her husband.

When they arrived, the guards mistook Bujin as the woman’s kidnapper, as she had left without telling anyone and was gone for a long time. When they apprehended him, he was cracked across the head with so much force that it affected his brain. When he awoke in his cell, he found that he wasn’t alone – instead, there were two distinct voices in his head. Afraid of what was happening, he stayed silent and curled up in a corner until the person who was containing him arrived.

The man turned out to be a complete dick, and wouldn’t let him go even after conceding to the fact that Bujin wasn’t at fault. Instead, he made Bujin participate in Dante’s Abyss as a representative of the prison in order to garner some fame for his establishment. Again, left with little choice, Bujin agreed and entered. He felt that if he was going to succeed, he was going to have to confront the voices in his head. Luckily, they turned out to be pretty nice, so he named them. Good times.

Bujin did very well in the initial part of Dante’s Abyss, critically injuring two contestants. It was here where he met up with Celipa again. The two made up after an initial argument, and teamed up, critically injuring another two contestants. The two went about their business until they both met a very…large warrior named Yamu and his posse. The events after meeting him are a bit foggy to Bujin, though he knows he starved to death.

After losing in Dante’s Abyss, Bujin found that his voices were gone, though his perception of reality was still suffering. Even when the Pantheon attacked and drew in all the warriors that went to check in on it, Bujin still thought it was just an illusion. It wasn’t until he was given a power by the Gods that he realized it was real.

It was here where he really began to realize how noble and rewarding the path of the warrior was. Before then, he had simply escaped responsibility and danger to save his own hide. When faced with the prospect of battling an entity in order to become a “New God”, he found that he wasn’t backing away. This instilled a vote of confidence in his own abilities, and he received the temporary mantle of “God of Destruction”.

He faced many trials during that time, but all of those paled in comparison to his final test – he died in order for his side to win. This surprised everyone, including Bujin – he had never done anything like that before. Though he doesn’t know how it turned out, he was left with the satisfaction of doing something good. This sentiment was sustained even when he began to doubt his decision. Right now, he’s in the afterlife, with very little regrets.

Kills: None.

Deaths: (fake) Dante’s Abyss – Bujin found himself unable to move after being blown away by Burter’s impressive display of power. He eventually starved half to death, and what little life he had left was ended by Kami when he shot him in the head.
