[3] Groups 1 & Katel - FoF Production Building
#1
Quote:1. Burter
3. Kami
7. Yajirobe

17. Yamu
18. Burter Jr.
19. Bardock
31. Hellfighter 17
24. Bebi

Katel is leading her team towards, and then into the Production Building.

Burter, Kami, and Yajirobe are in a cell with laser bars. This may not seem like much, but this is a test of creativity to see what you can come up with. They have been informed that Goku was murdered because of Brim's fear of the saiyan.

OOC: The asterisks are where Bebi?s post goes.

?You want to try your luck against Kao and Brim?? the woman continued, placing her chartreuse-coloured hand over her wide hips, leaning onto her elbow. ?You are more than welcome to,? she declared, with much confidence influencing her speech, ?I have a sister to save.? She gave them all a look that told them to help or they would be damned, and that did not seem like a very pleasing disposition. The woman just about ready to head towards the production building when Bebi pursed his lips slightly readying to command the green-shaded alien.

?You?re taking us there,? the tsufuru-jin spoke, with a gleam sparkling in his tinted eyes slightly as he began to narrow his vision. Katel saw no need to take this as a threat, as she saw Bardock as a form of guardian for her, and she was perfectly capable of fighting for herself as well. The human and android also appeared to be perfect candidates for protectors, but she had not developed much trust with either of them.

?Come,? her voice perked up, drifting away from its former version of assertiveness, ?I know where they are. . .? Her voice trailed off a tad and her eyes wandered off into the lush greenery of the landscape. ?But it won?t be easy.? A shake became present of the pupil and iris of Katel as she felt fear of Brim, of what he could do to his sister, but with the collective group?s power, they would be able to help her and her family, or so the coloured woman thought.

***

?Well let?s go already then,? interrupted Seventeen, , tired of everybody?s secretive conversations that he could not hear, ?I have a hot date in a couple hours, y?know.? A majority of the people did not find this at all amusing, most likely only the woman with vines due to her usage of a smile, but that could possibly be interpreted as a gesture of consideration. The youngin?, Burter Junior, did not even understand the phrase, and his face contorted into a maze of confused expressions, but only Yamu noticed, and decided to not even try to help him understand, as he most likely could not comprehend the ?complexity? of adult affairs.

Without making any form of verbal gestures towards the android?s shot at humour?which he purely did to lighten the mood, as his mind had to force out any form of wit or sarcasm or anything of that sort?the group moved on, with Bardock being the first to take foot rather than Katel, surprisingly. The green female soon rushed towards her male bodyguard and slowed her pace as she came up beside him, just as the saiyan expected the woman to do.

Burter Junior leapt forward simply at the idea of an adventure and Yamu picked up afterwards with a smile at the child?s glee. Seventeen, now aware that his attempts to brighten up the crowd would not work went back into his semi-apathetic state of mind and slowly caught up to bald pair. Bebi grimaced as the group walked forward; if the woman had cooperated at least somewhat as she had just did, most of the commotion earlier could have been easily avoided, but the grey creature would simply have to let it go, well, at least for now. With this in mind, the trsufuru-jin left his comforting spot at the tree and tailed behind the other five, watching them all oh so carefully.

The android had found himself standing next to the petite reptile and near eye level with the earthling. ?Well, I must say, it?s good to be on a group with somebody who I know can fight,? Seventeen said, with much pleasantness echoing from his body. Yamu smiles slightly, his mind started racing for a retort.

?Yea,? he began muttering, ?especially one whom can kick your butt,? the earth-jin mocked, his eyes closing fully and those pearly whites of him reflecting light towards the humanoid at an amazing rate. The robot simply curled his lips on one side in an unfriendly manner, but not to the point of showing any distaste, as the humanoid did not feel any.

The azure reptilian butted into the pair?s up-to-now short conversation: ?You said you know my dad. . .how?? The youngin? looked up to the hell fighter, eyes wide and full of curiosity for anything that pertained to his father.

?Well, that?s actually quite the interesting story, young one.? The android looked up, though the tree, into the sun which had arisen in the time of the happenings that occurred with Katel, and began his self-proclaimed masterpiece of a story. ?I?ll just cut to the chase and start on Vegeta where all of the action started??

??Yea, after you guys ditched me,? Yamu interrupted. Seventeen smirked slightly at the human?s comment before continuing.

??Anyways,? he started again, looking the earth-jin as he emphasized the word. ?So, we landed on Vegeta with our spacecraft and it came down with a long, drawn out buzz before it finally settled perfectly with my expert piloting skills.? The humanoid was beginning to show signs of eagerness, while BJ was nearly ready for something else, and Yamu was simply keeping himself from chuckling as the robot said himself to be an expert pilot. ?Then we started venturing out, looking for one of the mystical dragonballs,? Seventeen paused, allowing himself to see a glimmer of interest build up in the reptile?s eyes. ?As we were searching, we eventually came upon one of the saiyans, and let me tell you, she was awfully stronger, probably moreso than nearly anyone on this crater. ?

?Even my dad?!?!? the youth exclaimed, slightly dumbfounded by the chance of it.

?I?ll be getting to that,? retorted Seventeen, encouraged by the youth?s interjection the android allowed his grin to widen and he continued with his story. ?So then Uub?you must know Uub,? the android assumed, ?He rushed in and began to fight her!? Seventeen was allowing his voice to rise and fall, giving the story more enthusiasm. ?But, soon enough??

?We are nearing it,? warned Katel, silencing the android. ?All of you keep quiet; we don?t want to let our presence be known too soon.? The woman draped in greenery soon started adding even more grace to her movements as she swiftly maneuvered herself about the edge of the forest. The group had been walking for quite some time and it would only be obvious that they had neared their destination in that time. As the gathered spectators started crowding together rather than keep their distances as before, they peered out of the trees as they moved forward, slowly. There appeared to be a rather large building blocking their view of anything else.

It was rather bland at first sight, save the fact that it was circular in shape rather than the norm of a quadrilateral. As one stared even longer they would become witness to the multiple tattoos that were labeled throughout it; a rather boring design for the title ?Friend or Foe II,? with the odd ?FoFII? dotted around in smaller print. The same colour was used for the text against the saddlebrown canvas: papayawhip (this choice was not used too often by companies and industrialists, but it seemed as though Brim was one not to go with the crowd). After ascending to roughly sixty feet into the air, the roof was that of a dome; lines darting out every five metres along the circumference of the top as the went towards the point of the dome that looks as though it had some small, nearly invisible, antenna. Along the bottom, though, there were stairwells placed evenly along the base, with six to be in total, and the branched out into doors that would lead into the building. If one were to own the schematics for the building, they would be aware that each door lead to a different sector, but the six of ?em could not infer that in this case. The building seemed rather symmetrical and, quite frankly, obvious. When one peered inside, they would then become aware that this was not the case.

OOC: We are at the edge of the forest looking at the production building which is practically right there. Carry on!

Why hadn't he noticed earlier? Katel had just as much a motivating force as any why she wanted to bring Brim down. She'd mentioned before at the market that Akira Dezmon was her sister, and involuntarily under the twisted producer's influence. The ivy mistress was trying to save her kin from the machinations of the game. Bardock also suspected she might even want retribution for her own imprisonment, but Katel's thoughts were mostly for Akira. Upon that note, the saiyan moved forward, intending to make sure they both got what they wanted. Bebi hung back, pulling Yamu aside, so he stopped. The tsufuru-jin's voice assumed a tone of reason and sanity, exhibiting a side not previously shown. He seemed to exude nothing but concern for the welfare of his fellow contestants, and assured that together they would disband the game--for good. Bebi buttressed the human's resolve to protect Burter Junior, as if he were his own son. Yamu and the tsufuru-jin seemed to then form an intricate bond, one that was oddly enough born from their recent...connection. Bardock absorbed every word, letting the speech simmer in his mind as he made careful considerations.

Bebi finished with Yamu, and the human drew close to the kid, becoming fiercely protective of the reptilian child once again. It became palpable to Bar that he couldn't pick and choose between the kid and Katel, especially with Yamu around. He was, admittedly, a bit disappointed that his earlier contact with Junior hadn't spawned any different connection, but the saiyan was still fairly awkward with that kind of thing. He was forced to shrug it off as Bebi approached. The black-haired sentinel stiffened when the gray creature began to speak to the green woman.

His demeanor was calm, cool, and collected. He reaffirmed his position on things, and then conveyed an offer to help Katel's rescue of Akira. Bebi's rhetoric was candid and eloquently persuasive, while at the same time realistic. He was making every effort to build a better contact.

Bardock couldn't help but see him just the same. The little one may be capable of rationality, but that didn't change what he could do. It didn't change that he still seemed to like to be influential and in control. The saiyan swallowed any notion of bloodshed, choosing to simply avoid Bebi as much as he possibly could. Once a foul taste had tainted his tongue, it was hard to wash his mouth of it. But he would regard both Bebi and Yamu with a stoic approach.

"Well let's go already, then," Hellfighter interrupted, sick of standing around. "I have a hot date in a couple hours, y'know."

Bardock wasn't amused, but the subtle discontent motivated the motley group to resume their progress. The saiyan strode forward, expecting Katel to follow him closely, which she did. The rest of the grouping was expected: Seventeen, Yamu, Burter Junior, with Bebi purposefully holding back in the rear.

While their conversation was idle prattle, Bardock nonetheless kept his ears open to drink in every utterance. It was more habit than conscious choice, but nonetheless it provided insight to his companions. Suddenly Katel spoke up, silencing the conversation, and the Friend or Foe production building loomed up on the horizon. Vengeance was drawing near. The crew observed its presence, slowly taking in every detail of the hated structure that caused so much strife. No, it wasn't the building; the construction was merely a symbol the represented the true bane: Brim and his operators.

And Kao.

Bardock came to a head, and the others bunched up around him.

"Six stairs," he grunted, pointing out the obvious.

"We're not going to rush in like madmen!" Bebi piped up, his statement mirroring Bardock's thoughts--his preferred method of entrance was break in, ask questions later.

"Well, we could go up and knock on the door politely," Seventeen inserted, taking another stab at humor.

Bardock gazed at Katel, searching her mesmerizing eyes for answers. She seemed to falter, carefully considering something.

"Entering the building triggers a silent alarm," she said simply, noticing his inquiring expression.

Yamu glanced at Bebi.

"If we found a guard, could you--? I mean, we could--" he fumbled.

"You mean could I infiltrate the body of an FoF guard to get on the inside?" Bebi supplied.

"Do you feel that?" Burter Junior suddenly interjected. "It's my daddy!"

"What?" Yamu gasped. He quickly searched the area, trying to feel what the little blue boy was trying to communicate. The two apparently shared a close bond, because he couldn't pick the elder Burter up. Their scouters, which they all discovered, were being disrupted by some kind of scrambling signal. The human didn't have the capability to mentally sense a body of energy. "I don't feel anything."

Hellfighter Seventeen, being of more advanced skill than the others, quickly confirmed this. "I feel him too. It's faint, but he's already here."

Bardock's heart skipped a beat. If others were here, could he find Kakarotto and Raditzu? He'd not seen them in so long. Then he realized that the kid's father was here. Bar would have no more use. But he did what he set out to do, which was deliver the kid safely. On some small level, he'd helped to do so, but it still felt somewhat--hollow.

"Then let's hurry up and get the kid to his dad," Bardock said, eyes darting downward at the bubbling Junior. He was bursting with excitement to see his father again.

"Bebi," Katel began, changing focus.

"It's risky," the other conceded.

"The challenge lies in trying to find a guard without being given away," Yamu contributed.

"No, Brim already knows we're here," the ivy mistress revealed. The group's general concensus became that of dismay. "Remember, we're still playing. Brim will probably find some interesting way to twist our entrance to his viewer's delight, but if this boy's father is here, then others are as well. If we enlist their help, we'll have a better chance of bringing down Brim...and saving my sister."

Her voice was firm and had a sharp edge of steel. Bardock admired that. The insiders may have more insight as to the current situation, and specific people's whereabouts. They would be just as much help informatively as physically.

"And I can kill Kao," he concluded with a grin.

"Then let's get this over with," Bebi frowned, anxious to be rid of "Grim."

"We'll have a good chance of finding one if we go knock on the door," Seventeen pursued, for once successfully livening the mood.

And providing an insane idea that they could do just that. The party strode up a randomly selected set of stairs to a smoothly polished glass door in silent agreement. Before they even got all the way up, a humanoid creature clad in a FoF t-shirt burst from inside to intercept them.

"Hello," the android greeted brightly as he slammed his fist into the crew member's face.

Was it really that easy? Bardock wasn't so sure. Bebi was carefully articulating all the angles of his plan with the stolen knowledge from the guard's brain. The saiyan was only half listening, his head swarming with buzzing questions, so many doubts that they were almost overwhelming. The thought came to him that sentries, however high their security clearance, were only given what information was needed to carry out their duties. Unless this humanoid performed multiple tasks, it didn't seem likely that a perimeter guard would know of something so vital to the game's operation. Wasn't the perimeter the first line of defense? Wouldn't it make sense that they would know less, since it would be all too easy to abduct them from their post? Bar self-countered that Brim might not have been aware of Bebi's infiltration ability, but the producer had had more than enough time to adjust for it if he was constantly watching their every movement. Katel had mentioned that Brim already knew they were here. Wouldn't Brim also be aware of their little excursion to the main power core? The others had too readily forgotten her warning. And only five guards? Five, when the power source was the only key to the game? No fail-safe systems? No division of importance to prevent this exact thing from happening? So many questions.

A memory quickly surfaced that had been mulling around in his mind: Reijin's theory. If their true bodies were stored away in capsules, like he proposed, then shutting down this source of energy wouldn't make a difference. Their virtual reality would remain. It didn't matter what secrets Bebi divulged from the guard, they would likely have been programmed. Or, worse, the power source they were traipsing off to could in some effect shut down what was keeping their capsules operational. Bardock doubted it would be at all pleasant to have their minds ripped out of a computer program, or if they required life support to remain safely in stasis. Bebi might very well be killing them all.

His ambition was undeniable. He would do anything to get his little claws on "Grim." But was he making the same mistake he accused the cybernetic mischief-maker of? Was he rushing recklessly into some elaborately concoccted trap?

The black-haired brawler's tail twitched in agitation. This is why he never involved himself in matters like these. Too many goddamned head games. What seemed like something was actually another. It might turn out that Bebi was indeed correct, but there were so many perceived fallacies.

Bardock just wished he were in the security office so he could sniff out Kao. That was all he was really sure of in this wretched place. He needed a goal to keep him focused. Burter Junior and Katel were important, no doubt, and so was his family, but Kao...he was simple. He didn't require much thought at all. Just good old fashioned bone and flesh, none of this "match of wits" crap.

Maybe he was just complicating things when they needn't be.

He distracted himself by observing the others. Bebi had gotten the hang of his stolen body, because the humanoid's face was screwed up in sheer anticipation, savoring the taste of victory. The android remained stoic, emotions easily masked by his mechanical nature. Yamu and the kid were almost as eager as Bebi was. Katel's face was so full of emotion, it lacked definition. The woman didn't have the ability of flight, therefore, she didn't have the ability to curb her descent by manipulation of inner energy. Bardock lifted her gently off the ground, and she laced her arms around his neck for support. Dark shadow passed over their features as they entered the cold shaft. Her chartruese skin felt soft and velvety against his own sun-baked epidermis. She smelled of pine and lavender, an interesting combination, but one that was pleasing nonetheless. The closeness of Katel's presence was a welcome one. It had been a long time since he had felt a woman's gentle touch.

Twenty feet later, they reached the bottom, five pairs of feet slipping soundlessly back onto the ground, and then the sixth pair as Bardock relinquished Katel's body. She moved fluidly and gracefully back onto her feet, retaining a perfect and efficient poise. Now was not the time for admiration. Retribution for all seemed close at hand.

To their backs was a long, cavernous hallway that was dimly lit by overhanging lights mounted into the ceiling. The hatch above them closed automatically. Bebi had mentioned that there were sensors everywhere, so a mechanism must have automatically determined that there were no more people in the service shaft. There were no guards in front of the large door that was constructed of some kind of metal. The security measures were much greater. The little gray being would have to be cautious in its opening. Manipulating the humanoid's body, the tsufuru-jin approached the barrier that stayed them from their goal.

Bardock let his arms drop to his sides, gloved fists tightening, the sound of leather against leather echoing in the silence.

This door seemed to have all the works: retina, handprint, voice command, keypad, and finally, key card. The combination almost seemed ridiculous. Bebi leaned forward and placed the upper half of his face to the retina scan, simultaneously placing his hand on the panel. A noise emitted from both devices as they transmitted the entry. A friendly beep sounded its clearance approval. Bebi slipped a hand into a pocket and produced a metallic card, using his other hand to quickly punch in a combination of symbols and numbers. When he finished, he slid the card through the slot. In seconds, a green light flipped on accompanied by a second beep.

"We're in," he grinned, almost maniacally at his brilliance.

No one seemed to remember that it was originally Yamu's suggestion. But, then again, it wasn't about one person, but a team effort, so individual recognition was nonexistent. That didn't stop self-ego. They all relied on Bebi, so why not give yourself a pat on the back? Bardock didn't know about anyone else, but he didn't need anyone. It was simply a matter of convenience. Still, no one could deny Bebi's innate ingenuity.

No mention of the guards was made. They would only have so long before their presence was alerted to the masses.

A rush of air hissed from underneath the door as it slowly slid upwards with a hum. Six determined figures watched and waited, all with different goals, but all with the notion to attack the game that had imprisoned them in one way or another. Hellfighter Seventeen glanced at the floor as the barrier was rising. His eyes widened. He saw them first.

There weren't five guards, but twelve, two for each of them. All stood in a perfect "V" formation, every one of them standing solidly with crossed arms and menacing glares. So much for easy. As Katel had said, Brim had a surprise waiting for them. Waiting for them.

"We've been expecting you," the foremost sentry greeted.

Bebi hissed. It was simply more incentive to take Brim down.

"When I give the signal, Little Blue," Yamu whispered to his smaller companion, readying his fighting stance and moving in front of his charge. The child nodded as he mimicked his friend. Hellfighter grinned. He didn't mind an opportunity to show Yamu just how much stronger he was now. Bardock clenched his jaw and cracked his neck. Just a warm-up for Kao. His dark eyes darted to the woman (whom he inched closer to) and the kid. Nobody would touch her while he was around, and if for some reason the human faltered, Bardock would step in to look after the kid. Katel was blatantly furious at once again being balked in her efforts to free her sister.

"Step inside and we'll start the ride," the sentry smiled, arrogantly motioning them all forward.

As a group, they advanced into the power room.

Instantly, something went completely awry.

All of them felt an invisible hand reach into their bodies, burrowing under their skin like some kind of parasite.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you," Brim's lackey continued. "As one of our more advanced defense mechanisms, this entire room has panels that drain your energy. And guess where it goes? To the power core! So, in a nice little twist of fate, you're now helping to run our little show. Smile big for the camera, fools."

The pain was palpable as they slowly felt their ki being siphoned away. They would either have to move fast to dispatch the guards and figure out a way to shut off the drain, or retreat. But retreat seemed the unlikely option. Bebi's guard obviously had no knowledge of this, or they wouldn't have been taken in like this. The mind was useless now.

"And don't think you can shut off our little surprise from here. It's being run in an opposite part of the building."

Bardock growled ferociously. He was just going to have to beat Kao twice as hard to vent his aggressions now.

OOC: Sorry, Bebi. Couldn't be that easy. Tried to make it a little more interesting. Two for me.

Kami sat in the cell, his jaw clentched tight in anger. Unless you were looking closely you couldn't make out the unflitered rage that was flowing through Kami. Goku, his old buddy, training partner and partner in battling evil, was gone. 'Dead' as they had put it, but he knew he was back safe where ever he had been taken from. Well that is one way out of here...but it doesn't help me with killing Brim... Yajirobe sat in the cell too, along with Burter. The human looked a little disgruntled, he was pacing back and forth, deep in thought. "Sit dow kid. You're going to need to save your energy for later. rest up from those damn zombie things. Didn't they get your leg pretty good too?" Yajirobe looked at the bandaged wound and shrugged. He did take the old Namek's advice and stop walking around the room, but his troubled brow refused to take a rest.

The overwhelming feeling of hate and loathing was building up inside of the old Namekian, and he knew it was there and was fighting it off. The last thing anyone needed was him going all subatomic on the building and sending the entire place up in a cloud of smoke. That would be too messy, too sloppy, and far too impersonal. He played with a few sparks of ki in his hand as he thought. It helped to calm him and focus his thoughts.

Burter sat as well lost in his own train of though. Kami looked over at the blue reptillian, almost starting to say something but stopped when he realized it was ultimatly useless at this point to start some sort of brainstorming session. He did not really have any ideas of his own at the moment. He did however see a small rock on the floor. Out of curiosity he picked it up and tossed it into the energy bars. The rock fizzled in a flash of light, causing his cell mates to look up in suprise. "Just killing time." Kami said. Burter shook his head.

"If I didn't know any better I thought you were trying to scare me to death." Burter cracked a bit of a smile, regardless of the situation.

"Did you just make a joke?" Kami cracked a half assed smile, humor always helped to ease tense situations, but this was far too anoying to make jokes about; Kami was under someone else's control and that was not going to cut it.

He looked back at the energy bars again, this time shooting a small ki blast into them. They pulsed as they absorbed the energy, hummed loudly for a moment and then settled back into their original places. "Interesting...but why?" Kami went back to brooding, hoping an answer would come before another less friendly visit from Brim.

Burter's crimson eyes looked over the spectacle. Kami's blast had put the laser bars out of focus for a moment. He had an idea. A good idea.

"Fuck this shit!" Came the hissing curse words, followed by the movement of his reptilian body. "Masenko-HAA!" A flash of light...some crackling sounds on the laser door...a diving reptilian...

He was through.

Disposing of the guards was easy enough. Burter quickly unhooked the cable, disabling the now-perfect bars. "I'm impressed," Kami admitted.

The trio had mdae it out of the cell. "That was too easy though," Burter told them.

Yajirobe hadn't been around the powerful duo long, but the human warrior was bright enough to pick up that they were more then experienced at this type of thing. He wanted to prove he, too, was just as useful. "Brim wanted us to escape. I can feel other people in the building."

Burter nodded in agreement. "You're right. Brim wants this to happen."

Bebi had begun his attack, which was distorting the populace?s sight, visualizing greys, and blacks, and whites, all mixing together to create a world lacking colour. Even the android?s ability to adjust his focals to be hypersensitive to colour would not work in this instance; the effects would remain for the time being for all in the surrounding area.

A surge of energy was emitted from the machine which rested on the opposing side of the room and it bolted outwards, towards the collective group of anti-FoFII rebels. The current flowed passed the tsufuru-jin Bebi, obstructing his view for a mere tenth of a second. The possessive creature did not flinch as the powerful blast erupted behind him, taking down one of the main walls which barricaded the group form the rest of the building's occupants.

The creature whom ancestries lay with Vegeta-sei could feel the strain being put onto him; the device was leeching the energy from his body, but at the same time he was using his powers to suck the mechanization dry. A back to forth race for power was emerging and any person who was able to detect it could tell that this would not be very helpful for anyone.

?Ugh,? Yamu began, watching as both competitors appeared to be over-heating in some form of manner. ?This doesn?t look to good,? he finished, looking down towards BJ who had a look of frustration and strain bestowed upon him, and then toward the hell fighter who was to his immediate left. The android was just as scarce towards the situation as his human ally, but his mechanical processors began thinking of ways to counter what was happening.

?Maybe. . .? He began formulating a possible plan, the cranks within his head churning with every second. ?Just maybe. . .? he said, his mind gazing out into the wall and his mind gaping open, only to close immediately as his eyes began to fixate onto the machine. His arms spread out, defying the hold that the energy-absorbers had put him under. A burst of power overcame him as he unleashed much of the dormant, robotic strength which had not been present in the competition thus far. A green tint soon began appearing in the colourless world that Bebi had created and it was simply flashing to and from existence, a lack of sufficient power stopping it from sustaining for a more extended period of time. As the complex device began to suck energy from the super-powered android, Seventeen decided that he must supply much more fuel to his barrier for it to lift off. Some of the people within the room began to notice this?more specifically, the stronghold of guards?and they were becoming weary of just what this humanoid would do.

?Aygh!? screeched Seventeen. The android?s pupils began to dilate and a flash of light came into existence, distorted by a multitude of greens, and this then caused the hell fighter? pupils to contract, almost extinguishing from this realm. An orb appeared before the dozen spectators, and the competitors were then engulfed within the crowded base, with most of them being near one of the ends. The sponge began sucking up the orb?s power immediately, but the super-power would counter that right away.

Seventeen searched around the area for a moment, and once a desirable location came into view, his eyes widened in anxiety and a smirk crossed before his countenance. With the other five present in his ball, the android began to push his barrier towards the hole in the wall which had been made apparent not too long ago by the energy-draining machine. Some of the members of the group were angered that they were not able to stop this power source?particularly Bebi?but they majority of them agreed it was for the best, even the blue child who was slightly thrown off by this turn of events was aware of such a thing.

?Well, then, what do we do now?? inquired the tsufuru-jin, angered at the android, but more specifically how things turned out. He would have liked to turn off the power source, and the hell fighter had stopped them from being able to, but the possessor knew that it had become a lost cause and he himself was beginning to lose against his computer enemy.

?To find the others,? declared Seventeen, looking straight ahead as he drove the group further, pushing out energy second after second. Eventually he decided that he had better save the energy that he had left and he began to let down the guard. ?I?m dropping the guard,? declared Seventeen, letting his arms hang loosely at his sides. Now that the group was away from the dozen guards along with the energy-absorbing atmosphere, they had to figure out just where they were.

Fools, that?s what they were, they were fools. They thought they were ?fighting? the game when all they had accomplished was to give Brim and his show a new interesting story line. Yamu may be violent but he was far from stupid. He knew he had no chance of accomplishing anything much less his plans on his own and knew better then to sulk and complain or dig his heels. His scouter bothered him, rubbed his face raw and distorted his vision in the dark hallways, but he refused to be surprised in this ?game?.

Blip! Blip! Blip!

Three signatures lit up his vision as his young ward cheerfully shouted, ?Daddy! He?s up there and he is on his way!?

?Well, let?s go up there and meet them again.? The artificial warrior mono-toned in the first solution all the motley group could agree on. The bald and beautiful human looked at his raven-haired companion and realized he trusted the robot with his life. He could not explain it; in this line of work one made few friends and trusted only a couple of them. Yet, somehow he felt a connection to this created life form. If Burter really WAS up ahead then it might be a possibility to get to know the warrior known as Hell Fighter 17.

The six warriors sprinted down the corridor chasing the signature that intrigued his respective ki sense or detection device. Bebi twirled impatiently as they all stopped where their abilities told them. ?They should be right here!?

The hole was NOT in fact only fifteen feet down, but many hundreds. It was some sort of vacuum operated trash shoot that usually had a safety cover that had been removed from that floor to facilitate other maintenance but the commotion had prevented the proper documents from being sent to the technician who and flipped the little blue on switch just has Yajirobe had decided it was NOT such a good idea and he had his new companions had been sucked into the duct work.

?KAMI! What do we do?!? The bushy headed human asked over the near deafening roar of suctioned air.

?I?ll show you!? Burter hollered his hiss being blown away as soon as his voice touched the air only his lipless mouth seeming to move wordlessly to his allies, but the ki being channeled into his hand was enough ?show? to do without a ?tell?. Some unheard geas unleashed a bright beam of mighty energy that began to tear the walls weakening the suction enough that the trio was able to use enough energy to control their flight and burst out of their surrounding and throw one of the reinforced buildings walls in a spectacular shower of building materials and smack into twelve confused eyes.

(OOC: My apologies, I have been out of town to see my girlfriend (still am) and turns out she missed me just as much as I did her the five months I was gone for the Air Force?I thought I would have more time to myself but I?ve had to force the 45 minutes to write this. My apologies but next week I will be able to come back better then ever, I?m driving back Wednesday. Hopefully this will give anyone else who needs a post something to work with.)

Dante's Abyss 2007 Runner-Up
#9
END OF ROUND

"Daddy!"

"BJ!"

Everyone else was still getting up from the tumble the three warriors took on them, but Burter Junior and his father were up quick and embracing. Those who had been with the child were amazed by Burter, not because of him, but because of the simiarlities he shared with his son. He looked like a bulked up Burter Junior. Kami and Yajirobe were also surprised, just because looking at BJ was like looking at a tiny Burter.

"Katel," Kami grinned at the familar sight. He helped Katel up, as he had landed on her. His eyes looked over her striking beauty, and she blushed. Kami, however, was not the least bit shy to drink the view in.

"Good to see you too, Kami." She giggled.

The only who hadn't been trampled upon was the greyish figure of Bebi. He was looking up at something through a window, not the least bit concerned about the new arrivals. "He's up there," he whispered. The others looked towards the window, but it was tinted on their side, so they couldn't see through it. Nobody argued though, as Bebi wasn't one to lose a debate.

"I'm going up there," Bebi announced. "I know it's him."

"I'm going too," Bardock told him.

"We'll split up," Katel told them. "I've fulfilled my end of the bargain, now I want some help getting my sister back."

"I'll help," Kami offered. "I owe Akira." The namekian cracked a wiry grin.
