Sage stared at the man holding the gun as realization formed upon his visage. She, too, knew who this man was. They had taken solace in a maintenance room, and together they hid from the Mershikali, who had overrun the doomed town they had attempted to save. Though at the time, heroics seemed like a distant fantasy, as they huddled in the dark, hiding from the monsters in the light.

Alexander, that was his name. Sage knew his face. But she didn’t want to deal with anyone. Not right now. Not especially someone who just drew a gun on her. The hybrid leapt to her feet, and kept her eyes on his - he’d lowered his gun, and she was unarmed, but it still felt like a Mexican standoff.

Finally, Sage threw up her hand, and a burst of razor-edged snow assailed the well-dressed man. He yelped in pain, and swatted at the precipitation like they were angry bees, as the girl raced past him and out the door.

The quarter saiyan sprinted through the tundra, not knowing why she had attacked Alexander, or why she felt the need to run from him. Maybe it was his hair - maybe he looked too much like...

Too much like Belle. A sinister, sophisticated Belle.

She didn’t need this; not right now. She needed to flee. And flee she did, racing through the snow, until she made it to the cutoff point between the arctic sector, and the mountain sector. The girl visibly tensed up, and swallowed hard, but she crossed the threshold, leaving the wasteland - and Alexander - far behind.

Sage sighed, and gazed up at the sky. Still the same starry night sky as the one she could experience in the sector she favored most. She smiled, and took a seat on a nearby boulder to gaze at the sky above. At least something good had come from this, after all.
