Character Concepts and Story Ideas
#1
The one thing that people seem to love to do on this site (myself included) is to MAKE CHARACTERS. We like extrapolating and brainstorming and dreaming up all we can about these characters that we imagine, right up to the edge of actually writing something and then we fall flat.

SO. Here's the space to just post long, detailed descriptions about characters, character interactions, character ideas, cut scenes that have no connection to anything. Hell, put fan fiction here. Put characters you want in pre-existing games. Do whatever.

Just take the creative flotsam and jetsam from the briny wash between your ears and dump it here.

NOTE: Don't bitch if somebody "steals" an idea of yours and actually uses it to DO something. Take it as a compliment lawl

This seems like a really awesome idea, Undrask. I might just take you up on this offer.

Totally retarded idea that slowly grew on me:

Darth Arthas. You know Arthas from Warcraft, but in the omniverse he's also a sith lord (Frostmourne is obv a sith alchemy blade).

Yup.

Judge:
In an appocolyptic world (where the balance of the planet is put off due to carbon in the atmosphere and thus everything goes to shit) an ex-county judge roams the tattered remnants od mankind, making judements of mankind and bringing justice to a lawless world. With a shotgun. NO zombies, NO monsters, just mankind policing mankind for all its wrongs.

The War In The Sky:
Normal alien-invasion story arc: they show up, we freak out, they start invading but we somehow shoot them all out of the sky so fast that there are no human casualties. They were here to give cool alien stuff. Also, maybe the mission to kill them was a suicide mission, making their sacrafice not only meaningless, but counter productive.

Changeling:
Follows the story of a changeling troll that grew up replacing a young boy in a small village and his mission of self-discovery. Incorporates lots of norse shit. Had this idea since I was 15 lol

HEROICS:
Based off of a mutants and masterminds game I did. Chronicals the journey of 5 superheros in a very realistic world, covers lots of topics... its complicated Ill do a better explaination later.

Hero: teleporting pedophile tries.to.be a superhero, illustrates the feeble weakness of mind and spirit apparent in society and poverty. Have the script rouggghhhly written.

Spire:
Existential journey up a mountain and back down it to society, mirroring my own personal philosophy.

More to come and expansions soon.

Just thought of one where society has, for the most part, turned back to a hunter-gatherer society except for a portion of the population that's kept seperate that trains and researches medical stuff (and then the population of people needed to support the medical staff: farmers, construction, etc).

The hunter gatherers can always go to the medicals for treatment, but otherwise are self reliant. And you know, social scisms and the lore involved on both sides about why and how and hokey mysicism etc etc

Darth Reave:

An omnipotent and mysterious Sith Lord who seeks to defect to the Jedi Council to help shed light on the dark side and to stop Anakin from being an idiot.

I've actually wanted to write a fan fiction based loosely on this idea, because of how I view the Dark Side and Light Side.

Fighting to the bitter end is an advantage when your opponent does not wish to perish.

Also, I have an idea for a Buffy/Angel/Charmed kind of series where the justification is that on the turnover of X Mysterious Date that in some vague way, people's will/belief/concentration/other mind-stuff starts to manifest, creating a semi-mystical world in the modern era. You could explore why its happening, how people think, if this has happened before, drugs, blah blah blah.

Werewolves would be kinda like sigfried in that they made themselves believe they could turn into wolves.

Vampires kinda the same, but super powers.

Magical items would start appearing because of the ideas people hold about them.

Witches could perform tangible magic etc

RARELY monsters/demons appear from the collective unconscious.

THAT kind of fun stuff.

Character Concepts:

Dude that's kind of existentialist, atheist, tries to figure out why all this is happening. Has a sword that he has had for a long time and sorta kinda thinks its a part of his soul? Explores the concepts of what can really be considered evidence anymore, wants to have a soul but is afraid he doesn't have one. Can concentrate anger/hate/rage into his weapon and make it all hella cool and shit

Christian chick who has total faith in her god and is utterly "selfless," tries to help people as much as she can. Believes in redemption over all else. Explores what ideas of selflessness, compassion, the self and ego in relation to those ideals.

A man who believes he has an ever-thirting demon within him, kind of like a vampire but more like split-ish personalities but not really? Fighting the demon within, concepts that all things within you are part of the self, there is no "other", can there BE an other if you believe there is one?

On and on! Fun shit!

The Necro: Society sucks. People fight each other and commit crimes against their neighbors. The Necro seeks to create the perfect world by raising the dead to enforce the law. Having neither the need to sleep, the ability to be corrupted, or the mercy to forgive, The Necro would rule his society with an iron fist.

The Zombie: Not a zombie in the traditional sense. Instead, The Zombie was once a soldier, fighting in a foreign land. A mortar ended his life, but his refusal to die tied his soul to his body. Though he appears the same as he did in life, his bodily functions have ceased. After the medics found out about his condition, he was taken in to a government lab to be experimented on. He now seeks to escape from his prison and return to his wife and children.

The first one is a D&D character I've been aching to play. Even if he is a bit hard to mesh into a group and inpractical at the table. The second... well, being an imaginative guy like I am, I'd like to think of it as me. As how I would be if the worst were to happen. Course, I seriously doubt my will is that strong.

I could get into this more, but I have a habit of creating a character in my mind every time I watch a show I like or play a good game. I could literally be here for hours.

XD

Edit: To be somewhat on topic, my main side project remains 'short story-izing' a Dungeons and Dragon's campaign from so many years ago that thinking about it reminds me of my age.

Two odeas from today:

When you die you instantly awake at the moment of your birth in the same body at the same time as your first one. You retain all of your memories from your first life. So has everyone else since the dawn of humanity. Even animals. Everyone and everything lives a second life inrelatively the same circumstances as your first.
I'm not sure how I would get around the parent issue and similar things (like if parents don't have you for a second time)
Have fun with world history and social/religious evolution

2: Humanity has become a galactic empire and they now invade alien planets with giant mecha for sport. The only reason they use humanoid mavhines is to create a handicap and make the game interesting. Different sponsors own different mecha and its a fight for domination in direct and deadly competition with the other mecha pilots and theirsupport teams. Alien races fight back in a seemingly hopeless battle in the name of sport and entertainment
