What I like depends on the game, not the release date.
I agree. That said, would you rather play Adventure for the Atari or Elder Scrolls: Oblivion?

Speaking of old games, I still hold that The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past was the greatest Zelda game of them all on the SNES.
Now that I'm thinking about it, there were some incredibly amazing games for the SNES. Chrono Trigger, Secret of Evermore, Earthbound...

I'll just throw this in here intead of making it's own thread.
If you're a FF7 fan like I am, and haven't played Dirge of Cerberus, go do it now. Sure it's hella short, like for a guy like me with close to no free time at all, I was able to beat the game in 3 weeks, with 11 hours of gameplay lol, but the point of the game is for the quality and storyline. So if you love the FF7 story, play this game. That is all.

I was seriously tempted to buy it (DoC), then I read some reviews. Part of the reason why I hate all this spinoff stuff. They ain't doing justice to the original. >=(

Well if you're a fan, I suggest you try all the spin-offs, cuz it just adds to the story. I know i'm going to try them all, even though the anime FF7: Last Order is only 25 minutes long, it's an excellent watch as well.
DoC I admit was a big change, and I don't usually like change, but I adapted and it turned out to be just as enjoyable as anything else Square Enix puts out.

I played DoC with a keyboard/mouse for a bit and it was freakin' awesome too.
