Okay, this is where I'll post the NPC ideas I've had so far. I'll put them down as I come up with them, and then people can decided which ones are keepers and which ones need to be put through a trash compactor, with sharp knives.
Cornfield Scarecrow
These slow moving creatures made of straw are friendly to all people. They will attempt to help you with puzzles and other riddles, but as they do not have a brain, their help can only go so far. They are not very strong considering they are made of straw.
Possesed Scarecrow
This is the malevolent counterpart to the Cornfield Scarecrow. These ordinary scarecrows have been possesed by a poltergiest, and only seek to trick and decieve you. They cannot move very fast, and are still not very bright, because they lack a brain. Their only true purpose is to cause as much annoyance to people as possible.

The Little People
The friendly, and very short deziens of one of the towns in the land of Oz. While they are not very strong, or tall, they are always friendly to any who happen by. They will give you hints about things, and will do all they can to aid you, but they will refuse to leave their village for fear of the horrors of the rest of the land of Oz.

Dango's Dancers
These are the leather-clad dancing underlings of Lord Fandango. They use many terrible dance moves to dodge out of the way of attacks, and to attack you as well. They are cunning, but the leather straps on their clothes cause them to trip up occasionally. They have very deep voices, and are moderately difficult to defeat, but are not very bright.

Ghoulish Gumdrops- Small little packets of energy that border the darker roads of Oz. These little creatures will scream a high-pitched whine, damaging the ears of the unprotected. Alone, they're hardly more than a mild nuisance, but in large numbers, you will be set upon edge. Take them out as quickly as possible, for they spawn quickly.

That's great Krillen. You don't suppose the characters could eat them, could they?

Lol, sure. If they can stuff them down, that is. They have a horrible habit of chomping down on the esophagus, choking them to death.
But hey, if they can manage it, power to them.

Oh yeah... I almost forgot all about the flying monkeys. We have a wicked witch of the west in this one?
Flying Monkeys
Look out! These nasty little creatures look like monkeys with bat wings. They will swoop down from above and smack you around, or throw things at you, such as large boulders and other objects. Beware, they are suprisingly strong for their size, and are vicious, usually attacking in swarms. How it is that these monkeys grew wings is still unknown.
