[File Island] The Lion and the Tigress on File Island
#1
"So are you going to tell me what's going on?" Rebby asked, narrowing her eyes at the bouncing spring of fluff next to her. "Like, say, how I ended up here?"

"Dunno," answered the little pup digimon. "All I know is I was waiting for you."

"But why?"

"Dunno."

Rebby narrowed her eyes as if angry, but then sighed. Friimon seemed like a happy guy and he just wasn't effected by anything mean. "I don't know what to do. This is all too much to handle..."

"Aww, it's ok, Rebby," Friimon looked up at her with a smile. "I'm here to help you. Promise!"

Rebby gave a weak smile, still trying to accept the fact a walking ball of fluff was speaking to her. "So...are all things here like you?"

"There are lots of different digimon!" He explained. "Even I haven't seen them all!"

Rebby looked out to the desert. "Still no sign of anyone, or anything. You sure there's a way out of here?"

"Of course!" Friimon bounced forward some more. "Don't worry, keep walking!"

"Ugh," Rebby panted, moving to one knee. "I need a break."

"Okay," the little companion agreed. "Take a seat on this rock over here."

Rebby nodded and stumbled towards it, taking a seat. The desert was hot, too hot for her, and they had been walking for a good three hours. She fell back on the rock, sighing. "I just want to go home."

"Awww, but you just got here!" The childish digimon whined.

"I didn't ask to come here." Rebby countered.

Suddenly, a rumble in the surface began to cause the two to panic. The ground shook violently, making Rebby get up in surprise.

Something arose from the sand in front of them. A creature with a drill for a nose, and a sly grin on it's face. It's arms had two drills each, matching his gold armor. He stood tall, a good three times bigger then both Friimon and Rebby put together.

"That's Digmon!" Friimon exclaimed, hopping up and down. "He's not a bad guy...I don't think."

Rebby planted her feet defensively, looking up at the giant land-dweller. "You picked the wrong desert to defile, you filthy human!" He threw his arms back and then sprawled forward. "Rock Cracking!" The drill hit the ground hard, causing the ground to literally explode towards them.

"Look out, Rebby!" Friimon lept into her, causing her to fall back and just barely miss the creature's attack.

The little digimon then bounced forward. "You leave my human alone, meanie! Shipp Binta!" Friimon lept into the air and let out a fiercesome bubble from his jaws. It bounced off Digmon like nothing.

"I will not let a human ruin my desert!" Digmon proclaimed. "And you won't get in my way, Friimon!"

"But she's a good human!" Friimon argued. But it was too let, Digmon moved forward, then shot it's nosedrill towards the digimon.

"Nooo, Friiiiimon!" Rebby jumped forward. This was it. She lept into the air to push Friimon out of the way and stop Digmon from harming her newly found friend.

The drill hit the ground with a hard thud, causing sand to erupt from the spinning machina. The newly grown Leormon had lept into the air after Rebby's concern for him helped him to reach new power. He swung one of his paws back, bringing the claws out. "Leo Claw!" The lion pup shouted.

A small claw-shaped energy beam came out of his paw, hitting Drillmon in the nose. Though it didn't hurt him much, Drillmon at least fell back upon realizing what happened.

Leormon landed right next to Rebby, growling up at the opposition.

"You...digivolved!" The growling voice of Digmon showed obviously shock. "That means this human is...here to help!"

"I am?"

"She is?"

Digmon shook his head, "I'm so sorry! I had no idea you had a digivice! Just some of the humans I've seen haven't been the most pleasent!"

Rebby knelt down to put an arm around her newly evolved digimon. "Well, you can make it up to us by giving us a ride out of this place."

Digmon turned around, "Hop on! Tell me about yourself! I'll make it up to you!"

Rebby nodded and jumped on with Leormon. She whispered to her comrade, "How did you do that?"

Leormon purred and snuggled his head up against Rebby's chest. "You care about me. That's what happened."

"We're here," Digmon proclaimed, stopping in front of a road. "Take this road down towards till you hit an intersection. Then just follow the signs."

Happy to be off the burning sand, Rebby grabbed her pack and jumped off. Leormon followed behind her. "Thanks, Digmon," she said to the digimon.

After the gold armored drill monster dug back into the Earth, Rebby and Leormon began to head south down the road. "So where exactly are we going?" She asked him. "I mean, you live here, right?"

Unlike Friimon, Leormon wasn't smiling all the time. He appeared to be a bit more serious, but still optimistic. "I guess we should find someone who knows more about why you're here."

Rebby nodded as she put a baseball cap from her pack on. "That works," she told him. "I hope we don't run into another hostile digimon."

"There are lots of those..." Leormon sighed. "I don't know if I can beat many of them."

"Maybe you can digivolve again?"

Leormon shook his head. "It's not that easy."
