You can have epic police battles but you are pretty much required to have body armor. You definitely take more damage than you used to because they really want you to use cover. I've played for about 10 hours or so now and I think I'm 25% complete with the main story missions or whatever. It keeps getting better as you go on.

I have yet to get on multiplayer. I don't have any kind of headset to communicate, though, as of yet. I was going to wait till june and pick up the MGS one.

I've only played for an hour, but it seems like it's gonna be a pretty good game. I like the realism, just the way Niko moves. When I get on tonight I'm gonna try out the multiplayer, see what that's like.

I'd have tried out multiplayer, but my wireless adapter for the 360 seems to have gone missing. ;_;
Gonna have to concur with 'the game gets better as you go along'. Complete the story missions first so you can unlock all the cool stuff and learn about new features as you go along, like online dating and stuff. I'm on Algonquin atm, went to see 'the doctor' on Elizabeta's last mission.

I love the minor details. Little things like strangers on the street talking crazy and signs that say you get a $25,000 fine and jail term for littering. I love listening to the banter on the radio, but I agree with Bra that the music isn't up to par with the past two big installments.
I much prefer the driving in this one. It being harder makes chases all the more awesome. Drive-by shooting is also much better; the option to use different weapons while driving is neat ('nading pedestrians is awesome). The cover feature isn't all that great. I find it hard to auto-aim and/or shoot with certain weapons while in cover, and you can't use manual-aim only weapons (such as the sniper rifle).
I'm still enjoying the shit out of it, but have mainly been playing the main missions. However, getting four stars for touching an aeroplane was all, "Wtf lame?"
I just killed the guy for the LCPD and and have stared Packie missions.

That's my only real complaint so far. The camera isn't bad, per se, it's just... well, yeah, wrong.

I'm feeling a lot better now that I got Niko a 2000 dollar suit.

Okay... how the hell do you play multiplayer? 0.o Seriously, can't find the Xbox live option.
Also, I crashed a police car at full speed, and almost had a heart attack when Niko flew through the windscreen.

The time they must have put in this game alone makes it extremely awesome. The TV, for instance, can provide more entertainment than you'd expect. (The beer commercial was fucking hilarious.)
I just bought my PS3 yesterday, so I haven't really played it much. I still think the pros heavily outweigh the cons.
My wife's only complaint was that she couldn't understand what the hell they were saying. xD But there's a subtitles option, so it's all good.

The russians I understand just fine. Those damned rastas, though... shiiiiit.

One of my co-workers is Jamaican and I only understand every tenth word. =[
I think the one guy who holds his gun on you when you go see Little Jacob for a mission was supposed to be incoherent.

I prefer the new gunfights, both in and out of cars. But then, I was brought up on Time Crisis and was a huge fan of GoW. It was a little awkward at first, I don't think it's as polished as GoW, but today I got to grips with locking on more. Instead of cycling through targets, free aim with partially-depressed LT and then click it down when you're near the target you want. You can do it behind cover, and it's good for when you can't, for some reason, lock onto a specific target through cycling with the right stick.
Gotta agree on the music. I think the added humour of the TV and radio makes up for it, but I don't like any of the music stations a whole lot.
I just completed the Dwayne missions. What followed was awesome, but I won't spoil it.
And I actually understand the rastas somewhat, since my dad's entire family speaks much like it, and he can slip into 'rasta-speak' at any time he wishes. But damn, when I was a kid having to constantly say "pardon me?" was embarassing.

we should get a huge chubbs only free mode game going on Live. That would be awesome. All of us raising hell and fighting off coppers together.

That's what I thought, too, but the fact that I don't understand Jacob anyway didn't help.
I really like the Electro station. I think that's what it's called, anyway.

I really like the Electro station. I think that's what it's called, anyway. I like LCPH for music. My friends were all, "That's punk, Mike. LCR has classic stuff." That may be so, but punk music is alright and they have crappy classic for the most part.
Also, if you are being followed by helicopters and are in a helicopter, is it impossible to get rid of your wanted rating? I got chewed out when I had six stars, even though the army helicopters were far away.
