Only smaller. If they're larger than you they're always fair game.
It's to stop big people from picking on newbies or collecting their start gold when they join.

I just attacked Kazuya (sorry, Kaz, you were the best for testing) successfully. Before the attack she had over 1k troops and I had less than 900. So it looks like you can attack people bigger than you.

So basically people should just train their armies like Spartans.

I can totally see this becoming similiar to WoW PvP with different troop brackets, say stopping at 1k and fully equipping them to beat down other people in that range.

What smart people would do. The endless builders are all alone up there, just clicking buttons until June.

It's actually more fun imo to push the edge of performance, balancing troop growth with income to buy offense/defense items and training, spy and counter-spy, plus teamwork is integral (more than at lower levels, since we can't just hide beneath the larger players and pick on the smaller guys). Nobody on Team Green is trying to out-do anyone else as individuals - reread that first PM response I sent you a while back. ;3

I thoroughly like fully developing my group. Additionally, one of the changes I would make would be to increase the number of turns to whatever equates to 8 hours. I don't want someone to feel pressured into this being a hardcore game and needing to wake up after five hours sleep or feeling like they lose for going to work. So something like 100 turns or so wouldn't be bad.
I believe Waff has changed a few numbers during this round anyways, from what I saw. Specifically, the training numbers look entirely different.

I prefer to rob as many people as possible, even if it's for 6 gold (lol Saz). You make a defense, I find a way to make it be failboat.

These should be objective based per round. No real sense of competition as it stands now.

You're supposed to impose your own sense of competition. Pick someone to beat into oblivion or get the most troops or... do something.
EDIT: But no, there's no real competition right now because very few people are actually doing anything.

Honestly, the game isn't exactly complex enough to have any true system of competition. The only way I could see us working around that would be to implement some rules like preassigned teams or some type of forced teams with same bonuses or something.
Another idea I toyed with is seeing if it was possible to add upkeep to troops instead of spies. It promotes developing your units by actually purchasing the new gear and going down the chain rather than just training more units and using the lowbie gear.

In the beta, I complained about there not being enough turn storage capacity. In the beta, I complained about items beyond tier1 being worthless.
No, you're just being a stick-in-the-mud, they told me. Use that energy to enjoy the game, they told me.

You ARE a mud-stick.
But yeah. I can relate. Remember the Determination explosion in the old Chubbs system? I predicted that probably a year before it became a widely abused flaw in the system, and was basically told 'It's not a problem.'
I think the important thing to remember in times like these is that real life is important, and numbers on a web site like this are not.
