Some people are suggesting that the short times are a possible lead-up to another weekend-long test (they did this either last week or two weeks ago).
Apart from some annoying quests and one persistent bug that made travel by Acrobatics very hit or miss, I really enjoyed my time playing.

Knowing that makes planning a character SO much easier. It will also help make your character do more damage if you know how to work it.

They didn't really go out of their way to explain how it worked when you were choosing them. It was just "Hey, choose a superstat."

They have an interesting design philosophy on stats. None of the stats are supposed to be "throw away" stats, like Spirit in WoW. Would you take more of it? Sure. Are there more important stats? Almost always.
Dunno how well it will work out in practice, but I can appreciate what they're trying to do.

I did notice that almost all of the stats are useful no matter what. Although, oddly enough, it seems like Strength can be left out, even in a melee build.

Depends on the powers. The "Invincible" power from the Power Armor set gives a passive damage reduction based on both Strength and Constitution (a flat reduction based on strength and a percentage reduction after that based on con) which is enough for me to want strength in what will probably be a purely ranged character.
EDIT: Based on the passive stat bonuses, though, Strength would probably be the first I'd give up.

That's kind of the point. Not only does it leave room for flexibility in stat concepts, but you can justify almost any kind of character concept as well. A guy with the Superstats of Dex and Intelligence, for example, could say he does more raw damage in melee because he is adept at finding weak points in his opponent's armor and cutting into delicate anatomy. A person with the Superstat of Con might do more damage because their body has more mass (and consequently more momentum), or maybe their power is based around "burning" bodily resources to fuel its superheroic feats.

Not really completely open. I think we still need to get keys from Fileplanet. Only you know what's awesome? Apparently my school thinks that Fileplanet is P2P file sharing and has it blocked.
