One thing which I'm really happy about is the single server. Normally I have to pick between my EU friends or US friends. Everyone should copy Guild Wars in this way.

Make sure you do the thing with deleting and moving *.hogg files. I had my patcher up for, like, 2 hours doing nothing because I didn't read the announcement.

Do people have any idea what kind of character they're going to be playing? I'm planning on going with a Power Armor character and Superstating Constitution and Endurance. Going for a Tank/survivability thing.

Apparently you're not supposed to do the piggs/hoggs thing anymore and that they've 'fixed' the launcher. I'm all up to date but can't even get the patcher to let me into the game again.

So I moved the contents of the piggs folders. The patcher got to 100% (never said "done" or "complete" or anything) and then it null crashed.

Since then mine also hasn't been working.

EDIT: I've been kind of assuming they were planning to use today to stress test, so I've also been reporting everything when prompted.

I updated without issues before I went to bed and played for about 2 hours this morning shocked at how empty the servers were. Game crashed and now I'm locked out because of patcher issues.

I updated last night also (at around 9) but had to start patching again this morning and haven't actually been able to get in the game.

Jaxx: no idea. I got my client when I got into the Closed Beta. Check their forums or just use Google.

EDIT: And now, of course, I'm worried I broke my client for using the "fix" they told me to use.

Register an account on their site and apply your open beta key. Should let you get the client then.

I had the client preloaded they should have let me preload the patch too.

I'm just going to do something else for a couple hours and then see if anything's changed.

There are plenty of potential work-arounds on the forums if people are really desperate to just... do something. Problems seem to be on the server side, though, so I doubt there's anything we can actually do.
