DA Twists

Chain Links: 10 or 12 random people are put into pairs, decided by random.org, and must play the entire game with their partner until one of them dies. They are treated as an alliance, so betrayal is allowed but the chain link can NEVER be broken.

Easter Eggs: Twice a day, a weapon is placed at a random tile and those who are willing to risk a fight can move to that tile and attempt to take it.

Traditional: No twists, same ole same ole.

Clearly Easter Eggs, it'll allow us to form our own alliances and betray at our disposal while somewhat encouraging early fight encounters without waiting for zones to disappear and forcing us to fight.

Easter Eggs!!! It just seems more fun and random if a weapon is placed randomly. Perhaps make it to where the weap isn't revealed until someone gets to it? If more than one person gets to that weapon, then a fight ensues, and the winner takes the weapon?

I like both of those ideas, but I think DA should just be DA. The staple of the tournament should remain traditional and all other variations could come as additions like DA: C was. I wouldn't mind a Dante's Abyss: Doubles as long as the regular one stays.

Some of you guys seem to have misinterpreted my first post in this thread. I wasn't letting you all know what I was voting for. I was telling you what the right answer is.

Let's say the following 10 people sign up or DA:

1. Jim
2. Bob
3. Jimmy Bob
4. Bubba
5. Joe
6. Bubba Joe
7. Jane
8. Doe
9. Jane Doe
10. Alejandro

Burter would then take all these names, go to his favorite random number generator, and then post something like this:

1. Doe + Bubba
2. Jane + Joe
3. Jim + Jimmy Bob
4. Jane Doe + Bubba Joe
5. Bob + Alejandro

Those 10 would then be required to RP with their partner (without betraying or backstabbing) until one or both of them are killed.

EDIT: That would be, by far, the most entertaining of the options. Some people will probably complain about being forced to RP with someone else, but they can get over it. The rest of us will have a good laugh.

EDIT: And thanks for the breakdown. Which leaves the next question. After your partner is killed off, would you then be reassigned to a new person, or are you free to choose your own partner?

Greg asked for affiliation once AD's overhaul is done. Which it's not.

Anyway, Burter will obviously have to answer the specifics. Hopefully, in the event of chains, he won't tell everyone who the chains are. That would definitely make it more interesting.
