Oh. That's true then.
FFX makes it excessively easy to power-train though, what with Omega Ruins and all that. And there's so many advantages beyond just the AP gainage. All the Gil you get, you can bribe enemies to get kickass items to customize weapons/armor, or power up your aeons. FFX really found that great balance between depth (where there's a ton of things to earn and upgrade) and simplicity (where the game becomes almost intuitive after a certain point).
