To be honest, I picked Humans just to play the playstyle. Given that there is no well made competition, I didn't care about picking what I felt was the best faction, nor did I put thought into which faction I believed to be the best.
The reason you think that you and Josh are at the top of the game is what I stated. You outgrew everyone based on recruiting troops and then used that imbalance of income gains multiplying with the number of troops to make it so that no one would bother to attack you while you also gained an enormous amount of gold whenever you wanted that you could spend on upgrades. Its not a super secret tech at all, and it would have been easy to disrupt had anyone tried. I don't see how you honestly think that you had some inevitable victory that no matter what happened you would have achieved it.
About Utopia: I'm fairly sure you had a lot more to balance in there, if you want to get down to it. It was mostly a minor comment for convo's sake, but there was merit to it. This game isn't quite as complicated as you are trying to make it out to be (and thus also make a point of your "superior" intellect due to being the only person able to crack the complexity of it). If anyone does any kind of math at all, it comes down to "play the game with specific turn by turn plays and you'll outgrow everyone if no one bothers you", which yeah, all games can boil down to that. Most also have a lot more people that can interrupt you during those periods than we do on Chubbs.
I think (not entirely certain) that in Utopia, you were able to find out your opponent's strengths and intel based on three methods. One were spies doing a recon mission. Two was one of the types of magic you could use (sight maybe?) to get this same intel if you were strong in magic and they had weak magic defense. Third was taking any and ALL information that you received (and what your kd received) and crap it through Angel and then spit out the results onto the forum which were then assimilated into everyone else's Angel to make sure that you knew the most likely outcome of the attack.
Additionally, Prophet was used to do exactly the build strat simulator thing that you did here.
