It's pretty differcult to see Womens MMA as a legitimate sport, it does have an element of the freak show about it... people wanting to see two women fighting like men because it's just so out of the ordinary. I mean, you can bet your ass the men in the audience weren't watching to see two female athletes battle each other in a match of strength and skill, they just wanted gawp at two women beating the shit out of each other, the hotter the women the better, and you know, if you wanted to throw some jelly into the mix, I'm sure they wouldn't argue.
From the little I know about womens MMA Gina Carano has been hailed as "The Face Of Women's MMA" (presumably because she's the only female MMA that actually looks like a woman), and has basically been given a easy ride, being put up against weak opponents to bolster her record. Her fight against the crushinator or whatever her name was, proved that she wasn't a high enough calibre fighter, and basically is just window dressing for the "sport". Because the people who pull the strings know womens MMA will get little to no attention if all they have is she-hulks fighting.
I don't know maybe I'm being harsh, but that's just the way I feel about it.
