Not sure if like or hate, but definitely amused by: So this girl I work with got busted for drug use. She goes to court. The court's sentence? She must attend church every Sunday for a period of either 6 weeks or 6 months, I'm can't remember which.
I'm undecided as to whether that would be a complete shitting upon "separation of church and state" in its purest form (the state, aka court, demanding that you attend church as your punishment) - knowing that yes, this doesn't entirely fit that definition though.
Her thought basically summed up as this. "Whatever, I guess being told I have to go to their religion's church is better than a couple grand in fines or being locked up, so I can't really complain about it."
