Enjoy your job?

1. What do you do?

I work for a locally owned video game store that's starting to expand (they had 2 stores, one closed because the building was in a bad neighborhood and needed renovations. They just opened a new location in April and I applied for it and got the job!)

2. Do you enjoy your job?

I really do, but sometimes I feel awkward or unsure about myself because I'm the only girl at my location (only two girls between the two stores). I also don't know as much about games as I would like to, but it's hard to remember everything.

3. Why?/Why not?

What I like about my job is that, for instance, I'm at work right now lol! We mess around on the internet when it's slow, although if a boss knew I'd get in shit, but he works at the other store mostly. My other two bosses that co-own the business use the internet too. I also get discounts on games, rentals, and I get to buy them before they're released. I'm learning a lot, and it's pretty fun.

4. What did you do before this job?

I was an Assistant manager at a pet store, they fired me for no valid reason, and I went to work in shoes for a month or two before I came here. I was at the Petstore the longest of any job I'd had, and I was ready to make it a career but not anymore. They even hired me back, but now I'm full time at my current job so they can do without me.

5. Why?

Why do I work? Because I live on my own with my boyfriend and we pay lots of bills together. I lucked out to get a job that's interesting, though.

6. Comments:?

I don't know where I see myself in the future, still doing this or getting a career...but regardless I'm happy. I only get about 30 hours a week, but I hope in time I'll get 40 and I'll get respect and show that I do belong here.
