Kinda Dislike and Am Somewhat Upset About But Perhaps Unjustifiably:
The writing anthology for my college just got released today. I submitted a piece to it, but it was not accepted. The editor is a good friend of mine, but I kinda wondered if my piece (which is rather surreal and involves vomiting) would be one she and the staff she would surround herself with would accept.
I opened the anthology to page after page of fluff and heartache and unrequited love and femininity (out of 33 works in the anthology, only 4 were by males).
I feel like a schmuck for being mildly upset about it, but I feel as though the piece that was rejected is the best I've ever written. I just wonder if the piece was rejected solely because it was not romantic.
