I'm pretty sure you can make a story as 'big' as you want, so long as you don't actually change crazy shit (kill earth's leaders, blow up major planets, etc.).

Case in point: Before the reset I was going to run Kibbles' final chapter which, in the story, would have had universe-affecting consequences. Butter said that as long as I wasn't going to, you know, ACTUALLY change the universe, I could run a story that big.
