But, it does the exact same thing the other way did, but instead of having a top bar, it's just an overlay. I mean, I doubt any of us are using Google images to find WEBPAGES we're interested in, rather we're looking for the IMAGES that interest us.
It never took you strait to a "view image", so it's not like it's made it any less utilitarian in that way. It's made seeing your image larger, actually faster, the only disadvantage being that if you wanted to browse the web page you'll have to click the little x just like you used to have to.
Nothing has changed from a practicality aspect in regards from old to new, and it makes the image you wanted to see as large as possible without having this huge top bar thing to have to deal with. A marked improvement in my book.
