Ignoring what the immediate situation is, I think the direction that the Kinect is going has far more long term potential (as in, not necessarily this generation of hardware) due to its lack of controller. It will allow for an almost virtual experience in ways normally contained within the realm of movies (like, say, Gamer).
I'm interested, to say the least.
In the immediate vicinity, I think the Move will have better direct control due to its setup and the need for the Kinect to have to really work out the kinks since they are a new direction. I think the Move having HD will also give it a boost.
If I bought either of them... I'll ignore which system I would have to have for it and just look at the two themselves... I would probably cave for the Kinect as it would just appeal to me in that childish Timmy kind of way that the Move wouldn't as the Wii has already rung that chord.
