I've kinda made it a habit not to open the e-mails.
Usually you can tell just from the language and use of improper english that it's not Blizzard ("please to be putting you're Blizzard Game account name and password or we will be canceling your Warcraft Game account"), but definitely if they start asking for username/passwords.
(There's been ONE exception to that that I've seen, and I think that was in Runes of Magic for European users. At that time, the devs went in game and broadcasted "yes it's a real e-mail, sorry" for like three days.)
