Rafael Wrote:Psychic is a reward type though. I don't care about them adding Dark type because they think anything can stop Psychic,Psychic is boss. Add one hard-hitting TM to deal with dark and it's gg with 6 psychics, especially with split-type psychs.
Starting off the game with confusion or something similar would make the first gym easy, and since, imo,it's usually the hardest one to beat given your relative lack of resources, there'd be no fun
Well, maybe Drowzee since he doesn't get confusion until like, 17, but iirc he starts with hypnosis which is almost as bad
Okay so psychic was a bad choice, even then. What about flying or rock? Those two are commonly stopped flat. In Blue the first gym was only easy if you had Squirtle AND TOOK THE TIME TO GET WATER GUN! (Bulbasaur got Vine Whip toward the end of Moon Cave) I always chose Charmander and grabbed Caterpie for Brock. Once I had Butterfrie's confusion I was boss and easily smoked his rock pokemon. It just took grinding.
EDIT: With Charmander it was a different problem. I'd grab Pidgey for Misty and get it to Pidgeotto. If I was lucky I'd grab a Clefairy for her as well.

Fighting to the bitter end is an advantage when your opponent does not wish to perish.
