I was going to watch the video to hear what points she made, see what I agreed with and what I disagreed with, what I could argue and what I would have to concede but HOLY SHIT I COULD NOT LISTEN TO HER TALK OVER MY WISH TO PUNCH HER IN HER SMUG MOUTH.
On that note...
Hate: When youtube videos are paced like the video has been processed through molasses. If you plan on becoming a video blogger, look into successful public speakers and relate them to your own speaking patterns.
Basically, if you are an energetic and engaging speaker, you are probably able to do longer videos and maintain attention spans. The only main issue is if you are too frenetic - slow down so that people can understand your points, provide a visual aid, or break it into tiny chunks. Very few people will become a repeat viewer if you are just noise.
If you are a slower speaker, either keep the videos short or do something to keep the attention of the reader. When you have a quote, pop up a slide with the text. Use images to demonstrate and support your points. Make cuts to take out longer pauses. Look at NPR - They have probably the most sleep-inducing voices in media today, but there's constantly little soundbites and clips that they intersperse, allowing the viewer to maintain attention from the contrast.
Also, please provide a basic transcript if you can, or at least a contents list of the main points. Not all of us were blessed with good hearing. It would also be nice if we knew the basic order of the arguments so if we have to suddenly get up at some point in your 20 minute lecture and forget to pause, we can have an easier time getting the slider back to where we were instead of just saying "FUCK IT" and moving on to a cat walking on a treadmill.
Legit, this is something that has been frustrating me lately about videobloggers and that video was just very emblematic of my frustration.
