[D][O] Hyperton Fortress
#41
There would be much bloodshed. Reijin had already forseen what was going to happen for this battle, as if scattered words had flown past on the wind. He had learned to read battles, but had yet to attain the power of Foresight. However, his Telepathy could give him feelings of destructive urges, hinting at things to come regardless of whether he knew how to interpret them. All he knew was that something that reeked of destruction was going to happen.

He couldn't stop it.

He didn't know of anyone from Outcasts, so choosing a target at this point in time was useless. He did recognize a figure of pink that seemed to be giving orders near the Fortress when he'd watched them from the hill, but there seemed to be two of them, possibly even more of these creatures. They were, after all, Outcasts. Their entire army was composed of pink amorphous creatures, trolls, and even cyclopeon warriors.

The only thing that he could use to his advantage was the energy. Collecting his palms to the side, he began to gather a stream of energy from the air, watching it swirl about his palms before coallescing into two balls of energy. It was time to enter this battle.

"FINAL..." he began to roar the incantation, his aura bursting to life around him and the very air itself begin to shimmer with pressure from the enormity of it. Slamming his palms together, the two balls connected together, having the same effect of combing to opposite chemicals in a vial. Their explosive result propelled the beam forward, expanding fiercely into a wave of destructive force. "FLASH!" he cried out, adding effect to the energy wave.

As if unleashed from a lamp imprisonment of aeons, the torrentious Djinn of Ki blazed through the maelstrom, sundering warrior to ash and releasing them from their imprisonment within this game. A smoldering wake was left behind as if having parted water, and Reijin rushed into it before the fighters slowly crashed back in from the opening as if water rushing back into the whirlpool

In the distance he saw a familiar Dante uniform, only to have it vanish within the cluster of soldiers. A soldier turned before him, seeing him weaving through the group and pulling out a large sword. The giant troll soldier stepped directly in front of him, slashing down with his sword, only to see Reijin vanish from in front of him, dissappearing from before his eyes.

His sword fell to strike the vacant foe before the troll brought a finger to his lips dumbfounded. Reijin's right palm touched him from behind, the Saiyan warrior leaving his back to the troll while reaching around his left arm. His eyes closed a moment before the creature could react, and the world felt his breath for a mere instance. "I release you," he whispered, the creature suddenly breaking down as energy raged throughout his body to destroy him internally.

Before the dying being fell to his knees, Reijin had continued his stride, breaking through the crowd to find the Dante warrior he'd seen struggling in the distance. He slid to a stop as he watched her fight, his vision as hard as ever, but his narrowed eyes finally recognizing the woman before him. "Akane..."

The girl was in her teenage form, but her demeanor had changed. She was a demon unleashed, and rather than seeking the peaceful end that she normally sought for, she was rending foe from spine with apparent ease. Her breath was releasing in shallow gasps from the long battle, but she had thrown aside all weak urges of pacifism and had accepted the battle.

A trademark sneer formed over Reijin's lips. She had thrown a blast of energy to a troll in front of her, vaporizing him easily before spinning, channeling a stream of ki to fire at the large creature leaping over bodies to reach her. He was struck by the crossfire of Reijin's own blast.

Breathing hard, Akane turned and saw her fellow Lt. alongside her. "You..." she managed, trying to catch her breath. "When you did you get here?" she finally asked, turning once more to focus on the foes around her.

Reijin fell in beside her, disemboweling a nearby fighter with his fist as he gave her the short answer. " I never got the opportunity to congragulate you on your promotion, Lt. Akane Kimidori," he grunted, turning aside another warrior's blade with his palm.

The warrior simply continued past Reijin, thrusting his blade towards Akane's head. She turned, grabbing his wrist and then twisted around behind him, her other arm coming around to snap the man's neck before allowing him to drop. "I'm a little surprised to see you compliment me. You don't seem the type," she giggled a bit, before ducking beneath an axe blade.

The male Saiyan's blast of energy removed the arm holding the blade before the female human severed the spine controlling it. "I'm not," he answered, ducking beneath her arm to bring his fist into the gut of a female warrior attempting to take her from behind.

"Then why bother?" she asked, curious of his intentions.

He only shrugged at her a moment before his eyes returned to its search for enemies. "You are a member of the winning team. You fight as if you want to win," he added, charging another detonation of energy within his palm. "That and I don't understand you. When we last fought, I obliterated you. You were a little girl and also a teenage woman in the same fight. Now you are different even still. Who are you?" he asked, giving her an odd glance.

She sighed a moment before twisting around behind yet another soldier to strike him in the throat, downing him in a moment. "Long story. Maybe if we survive this, I'll explain."

"We might not," Reijin returned to her, recieving a surprised look from her. "Its a battle, and in battles there are always those that live and those that die. I don't know who is going to win this fight, but I do know that something big... Something destructive... is going to wreck this place."

The girl at his side giggled for a moment childishly before pulling a peach out from inside of her shirt. "Here," she offered, tossing him the peach. Stunned a bit, he caught it and looked at it. "This is for after we survive this fight. Both of us. We'll eat them while we talk." She eyed him a moment before continuing. "You don't seem like a bad guy, Reijin," she smiled.

He just grunted and pointed his finger at her. "I am," he stated factually, before firing a tiny beam directly at her forehead. Her mouth opened in shock and her eyes widened, just as an enemy struck her head from behind, throwing her to the ground just beneath the incoming beam. The thin beam struck the off-guard warrior directly between the eyes, felling him on the spot.

The body crumbled onto Akane's fallen form, forcing her to throw the corpse off of her in order to stand. "Eww!" she squeeled, not at all liking the brain matter leaking onto her face. She growled angrily as she rolled over to rip a cloth strip from a warrior's clothing, wiping her face exstatically before pointing to Reijin from the ground. "You!" she accused, giving him a finger. "You just covered me in freakin' brains!"

Reijin chuckled carelessly. "So? Learn to live with it, girl." Turning around, he sought out his next opponent as she pushed herself to her feet. A sudden chill passed over him as his senses screamed danger to him. He spun around and grabbed her. "Get down!" he yelled, pushing her to the ground before taking a strong stance above her, his Super Saiyan 2 blossoming around him, his golden hair rising statically from his skull, his dark black eyes shifting to an emerald green as his full expanse of power overcame the two of them. The sheer force from his spiritual pressure forced her back to the ground, overcome and unable to figure out what was happening.

His arms spread above him as a thin weave of positive Ki began to intertwine itself with a thread of negative ki. The two began to quickly move in and out of each other as if dolphins in a dance, quickly weaving together a repulsing barrier of both charges. "KI BARRIER!" he yelled fiercely, invoking the defensive bubble by name as it surrounded the two of them protectively.

He did not know what was to come. His mind only screamed one thing - Destruction.

Forecast cloudy skies with a chance for rain mumbled Cell Jr. as he chuckled slightly mumbling it.

Holding back the chuckling CJ stood laid beneath a Dante soldier unnoticed of the fight above which was still raging on. The sounds of war were ever so loud and to the Outcast leader, seemed louder than ever despite the battle raging for quite some time now.

Cell Junior was still unaware of the current casualty report for his unit and the battle overall. He could have only hopped that the force of Dante were hitting the ground faster than Outcasts.

Luckily for Cell Junior his luck seemed to have been changing, as now multiple yellow-clad units crossed over him and many would fit the description of a misfit, this was the leader?s chance to get noticed and freed. He started screaming for assistance not trying to state to his the leader due to given his exact location away to the entire Dante force could prove costly rather to try and gain the attention of the nearby Outcast units who were crossing over their trapped General.

With a few grunts and body movement, the winged Outcast Commander was able to gain the assistance of a fellow misfit who proceeded to grab the dead Dante body and toss it aside as if it was a piece of trash.

?Thank you,? cheered CJ as he brushed himself off and wiped the blood off of his forehead with his forearm. ?Wasn?t for you, I?d have been forgotten and would have just starved to death,? smiled Cell Junior as he raised his head shifting his gaze from the ground and up to the face of the misfit who saved him.

The winged leader smiled as he spoke to a troll, not just any random troll but a troglodyte named Iraki he hadn?t seen him since back at Oblivion Tower when Iraki allowed CJ to stand on his shoulders as a podium, ?Wow, of all fighting of the hundreds of men, I?d never thought it?d be you.?

The troll just smiled as he parted ways with Cell Jr. to join his allies in the fight, the freckled creature sighed heavily as he eyed the floor looking an energy sword to use. ?Damnit, not a single sword hilt in sight for me to grab, guess I?ll just use these babies,? murmured Junior as he eyed his hands.

?General Sir!? yelled a fellow Outcast attempting to grab his Commander?s attention. CJ snapped his head up and looked to his fellow teammate, ?Yes??

The soldier cried out, ?We have more Dante coming in from behind, not a very big unit but more soldiers nonetheless.?

This is my chance, thought Junior as he started to dash through his ranks, shouting for a few people to lend him a hand, ?I need a few of you guys to lend me a hand in the oncoming Dante forces from behind.?

By the time he got through to the other side, Dante was closing in, the artillery shelling had stopped as now Dante was too close for artillery to hit, CJ was unsure if artillery reduced their numbers but with a quick glance, CJ looked behind him to see some Outcast soldiers, all Junior could hope for was a miracle?

"Something's happening...?" Akane whispered from the ground, still forced to the dirt from the immense pressure emanating from Reijin.

It hadn't happened yet, but Reijin couldn't shake the screaming in his head. If they were to survive what was to come, then they would have to maintain this barrier. "Shut... UP," he forced out, sweat pouring from his forehead. Why did he feel as if the apocalypse was upon them?

"Reijin, are you sure? I can't sense a thing and everyone is still fighting," she growled from the ground. "You might just be losing it a bit," she laughed at him, only to find his foot suddenly drive her face back into the dirt.

"I said to shut up," he growled back. It was true that he'd seen no proof that anything was going to happen. He'd only read it on the wind. Was he truely losing his mind? With what the Demons had done to everyone regarding Videl... He wouldn't be surprised if they were tampering with his own mind again, hoping to succeed where they had failed. Was he just looking too far into the situation?

?Enough,? echoed he voice of the Saiyan warrior across the field. Reijin?s arm was extended before him and the large angel?s sword had ceased to move a mere inch from its target?s neck. Reijin smiled a bit, but chills ran through the marrow of every angel surrounding him. He ceased his telekinetic control over the sword and watched the angel bring it to his side as the other angels rose to their feet, a few with open gashes across their chests. ?Heal yourselves and your brethren. We will rest. You have come far.?

He glided forward until he came to rest before the large angel that had nearly decapitated his fellow warrior in the practice. He recognized the angel as Seraph from earlier. ?How did it feel?? he asked him quietly.

The angel gave him a sad look. ?I did not wish to do it,? he spoke, ending his sentence resolutely.

Nodding, Reijin looked him directly in the eyes. ?From where I was at, it did not seem that way.? The angel opened his mouth as if to defend himself and Reijin simply continued speaking over him. ?From my location, it seemed as if it would destroy a portion of who you are to kill someone in such a dastardly way. It seemed as if you would rather cease to exist.?

Seraph slowly nodded. ?You understand.?

Spitting at the ground, Reijin wiped his mouth with his sleeve. ?Yet you knew that if you had not moved for the killing blow at that moment that your opponent could have, coming up from underneath with a strike that would have spilled your intestines across this field.? He motioned at a few of the fallen angel bodies. ?It seems that once death becomes a very real possibility that you begin to understand exactly what it means to die. War is not a glorious struggle in which the victor forces the loser into submitting. War is carnage. You are going to be facing the denizens of Hell itself. They will do far worse than anything that you can possibly imagine.?

======

Reijin had taught angels to kill. He knew well what adversaries were capable of, and he knew what a war truely meant. He knew that they were fighting to return the life that they had lost the moment they were thrust into these games. He knew that the girl at his feet did not truely understand... Or maybe she did, now. She had completely modified her entire fighting style to fight as Demons would, fierce and with no mercy. He hoped that it would not destroy her. For the Angels, it had blackened the holiest parts of their souls and permanently scarred them. They had won the war, but they were forever changed.

Was Akane forever changed as well? He knew nothing about her... He strained to uphold the barrier at its strongest in the event that he was correct about the danger. He would have to be able to talk to her after this fight about her trials. She interested him.

Sheer seconds slipped through in equality to grains within an hour glass. Time was not a factor in this situation, but hollow in its magnitude. The gloominess that once with-held its potency throughout the lair of the battlefield had bitterly clashed with the glimmering brilliance of the sunshine. With its rays of wonder, it presented only visibility of truth to the sights of the saiya-jin king. His comrade prolonged his lack of motion even under the circumstances of the deserting android. Only silence could be exchanged between the commanders while they absorbed the knowledge of the Outcast commander?s retreat. Vejita I?s arms slumped along his waist with his thumb wrestling into the pits of his hand to express this ferocious rage stirring in the inferno described as a soul. The hatred for these creatures was almost branching outwards into the limbs of his body; manipulating their every decision. His thoughts shared similarities with only the mutilated bodies of these warriors pulsing into his brain at a traumatizing rate.

His tongue glided delicately alongside his parched lips to explore the remnants of unknown blood upon his chin and only salivating in the fabrications of it belonging to Android-17. Withdrawing from a war could only be described as dishonorable, but honor was diminishing inside Vejita with every breath he achieved. He was being damned and cursed of all of his former morals the instance of butchering the Syntech commander, Zarbon, and the ?misery? of observing the flames of hell itself greeting his own son?s flesh. It was a remarkable adjustment that was seeping into his soul. Whether the dream the saiya-jin had encountered previously during his unconscious state was fact or fiction was irrelevant; these sensations was luring the saiya-jin into a realm of freedom. No longer would he be shackled by the imprisonment of ?morals? and ?justice?, or even the word that the majority of his race withheld - ?honor?. Those were all abolished to the saiya-jin king obviously, and only one word could properly describe it: glorious.

?Coward...? Broli?s lips were relinquished of their fastened state while a rumbling of amazing proportions diverted their concentration. This rumbling out-stretched throughout the region and they could only attempt to detect it?s origin. A roar of intense volume devastated the ongoing shrieks by the Dante and Outcasts soldiers while a thousand soldiers in unknown garments flowed at an impeccable formation into war zone. All who endeavored in deciphering the objective of these soldiers were overwhelmed with queries. Even Broli and Vejita I were engrossed in misconceptions provided by this unknown army, but they were fulfilled with reasoning when weapons wielded by these men could only be attracted to the flesh of the Outcast soldiers. All of their worries were disposed of in that instance and only an expression of pleasure could arise from King Vejita?s withered face. This wasn?t pleasure due from joy, but one consisting of eeriness. His eyes were decorated with a crimson glow that was magnified by the wonderful sunlight while the outer layers were highlighted with a dark tent that emphasized his unusual transformation.

The saiya-jin commander?s limbs were ejected above him and his fingers twitched involuntarily in an expression of his ?joy?. A sinister chuckle was the only elaboration to this unknown act with his teeth chattering from the sensations scrambling through him. His conscience had perished of its power entirely and had been replaced with a seething hatred that seemed to manufacture even further thoughts of evil. The feet of these soldiers, suggested to be United, battered the floor of the planet Dante with numbing effects to his laughter. Following his rhythmic cackles, he commenced to speech with his voice requiring assistance from the inner chambers of his lungs. ?CURSED BE THE ONES WHO DOUBT OUR STRENGTH! DANTE?S BLOOD FLOWS NOT, BUT INSTEAD THE OUTCASTS WILL ROT ON THE VERY LAND WHICH THEY PROTECT! RUN! RUN AS LAMB TO THE SLAUGHTER!?

The intensity of his demonic self succeeding in overtaking the king was resulting in mass quantities of sweat beading from his scalp. It journeyed down his very cheek and the wrinkles of his face could only be classified as that of a demon. His morals, honor, and even reality itself had been cleansed from his now ?purified? soul. The king had reserved his place as a bringing of damnation to all those who challenged the might of Dante and to himself. The innocence he once held was no more.

The End

The battle belonged to Dante. King Cold was one who led the charge through the Fortress hallway in order to finish the breaching. "We're almost to the center!" He declared to the men behind him. "Keep your guard up!" He continued to run down the hall, slicing his claws at any yellow soldier dumb enough to come close.

"I think they're running away, Cold!" A man called behind the changling.

Cold just grinned. "Sucks to be them."

The changling arrived on the balcony with the rest of the men following him. He looked down at the large Dining Hall under them, and the man in the middle. Only a few men remained with the pink blob that worked his Metal Binding in the middle.

"It's over!" Announced the changling lord. "Dante has won this fortress!"

Super Buu looked up. The expression was different then usual. Not angry, nor happy. Just blank, and empty. "You've won nothing," stated Buu.

Cold put his foot on the railing, ready to leap down. "I guess I'll have to show you myse--what is that?"

That was the first time King Cold saw the device on the ground, made from the limited powers of Metal Binding. It all clicked when he saw the ki ball form from Buu's hand, and then head down. Super Buu said nothing.

"IT'S A BOMB!" King Cold shouted back. "EVACUATE!"

A beautiful churray of orange, white and red filled the hall, tearing apart Super Buu first and then the invading Dante soldiers. King Cold made it nine feet back before he was dead.

**

"KI BARRIER!"

Super Saiyan 2 Reijin immediately transformed to his full potential with no hesitation. Akane fell backwards onto her butt as the saiyan unleashed his sheild.

He strained as he kept the barriar going. Nearby, he could see a yellow-dressed pink monster, one he recognized from the final fight of Dante's Abyss. Kid Buu.

Rather then run away in fright, Kid ran for Reijin and was toppled by the massive explosion, and literally vanished. Even going to death, he refused to run.

The explosion that began to tear the Fortress apart ran right into the two, but the shield was enough to hold it back. The muscled, energized warrior gritted his teeth and howled as every strand of power went into fighting off that explosion.

"HAAA!" Announced a girl next to him.

The man looked down in surprise, to see Akane pressing the shield with him. She was much too weak to help, but it was still a surprise in itself to see her trying. "What do you think you're doing!?"

She didn't answer. She didn't need too.

She was doing what little she could do.

**

"He did it!" Announced a shocked and beaten Android Seventeen. The android fell to his knees, laughing. "Buu did it! He blew it apart!"

The celebration didn't last long. Seventeen's struggle to keep the soldiers from getting to Buu put his right in the line of fire.

"I'm coming, Buu."

Moments after his cheer, the explosion reached the layer of stone he was in, and a large beaten wall toppled over him.

**

"Keep firing!" Mr. Cell Jr demanded as his troop ran backwards. "Evacuate the area!"

The little blue humonoid stopped as Corey, his lieutenant ran past him. "Keep movin', General!"

"Corey?! Come on!"

"You're the Commander now, CJ!" Corey called back to his little friend. "You do your job, and I'll do mine!"

Cell Jr was about to argue when an artillary blast erupted close to him. "Keep moving!" He shouted, "Everyone who can still run...run!"

**

Hours passed. The Fortress was just three walls and a big pile of stone. Outcasts had run. United began to help pick up the peices for Dante.

Grandpa Gohan had been caught in the explosion, but was still living. He had refused medical service, instead opting to limp his way towards the corpses of the battle to the North.

The elderly man fell to his knees, coughing. Time was running out. He didn't even know what he was looking for, but better to die looking for it then never find it at all.

"There," he breathed softly. The man literally crawled over, past the bodies, to the corpse he was looking for. The young boy he had connected with, even just for a few days. "I guess you got it too, huh, kid?" Gramps chuckled.

Pigero's face remained motionless, even as Gramps positioned his head onto his knee.

"I guess I'm on my way, too," the man laughed. It was all he could do. "Sorry I could be there, Pigero."

He fell sideways, and all went black. His body rested peacefully next to Pigero.

"Get that man some medical help!" He could hear with his last moments. "I saw him move! GET THAT HERO SOME HELP!"

Gramps stirred. Hero...?

**

Approximately five hours after darkness caved in on them, the sun shined bright against Vejita and Broli.

"Found them," came a female voice. "Get the Commander!"

Their clothes were torn to shreds, and the Fortress cave-in left both in need of a lot of medical treatment.

"Joy?" Broli asked, as weak as he had ever been.

A couple soldiers hoisted Vejita out first, who was coughing up blood. Then Broli, which took about four soldiers, was pulled out.

"Commanders," Joy said as she saluted. "This is Commander Garlic Jr of the United Army."

Broli looked down at the little demon. "A...pleasure," was all he could manage for now.

"Nice to meet you too," Garlic nodded, "Do you mind getting dressed? You're getting me all hot and bothered."
