I just got a call a few days ago from my old trainer and they asked me to fight in a amateur ultimate fighting tournament. The only thing that sucks is the fight's this month so I have like no time to train...which means I'll be busting my ass from now til then. Just thought I'd share haha.

If I had any idea what you were talking about I'd congratulate you. When it comes to fighting types and shiz I'm clueless.

Haha the easiest way to describe is...pre-pre UFC..pretty much anything goes and we just go in the ring and brawl out haha. If I win 3 amateur fights then I get placed in the Semi-pro bracket, then if I win 3 of those fights I get placed in Pro and start get paid and endorsements..then can get into the UFC.

It takes like 3-6 months to properly prepare for a fight, just to put it in perspective.
We need pics or it didn't happen. For reasons that precede you.

I'm 150..I think that's light weight. I really don't know details about it yet, just that I'm in and I need to start training..and my opponent's name..and I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do but I use that style to fight.
I've been training in American Combat Karate which is a little bit of everything and just pretty much teaches you how to efficiently take someone down by any means necessary. One of my instructors is actually in the black belt hall of fame, Hanshi McCaffrey, needless to say he's crazy haha.

what are the rules for the event? i know a lot of those low-level competitions use a lot of regulations, like no kicks to the head, no elbows, etc. just curious.

We can pretty much do pretty much anything actually, and I was really surprised when I found that out. The only thing I know for sure is we'll have on head gear, gloves, etc. cause NY doesn't allow full contact fighting or something like that.

A black belt? How many people do you think you could fight at one time with a blackbelt? Average street tuffs, obviously

Most people on the street don't know how to fucking fight. You put someone who street fights against someone who knows, say Kung Fu. Street fighter is fucked.
Mainly because fighting on the street you usually don't learn tactics. By taking a class they teach you to anticipate and counter attacks. Can't learn that on the street. >.>

I can fight a million people at one time with a black belt, you mean how many can I beat haha...
to be honest with a black belt in TKD, unless you really devote a lot of your time into practicing the kicks and everything (which I dont), you'd be lucky if it worked on one. TKD is a point fighting art, not street fighting, so it never teaches you actually combat skills. It does condition your body to fight and teaches you how to maneuver though. If you caught someone with a good round-house or a hook kick you can easily knock them out. It really all depends on the situation.
In my current art however, we actually practice weapon defense, gang fighting, 2-3-4 on one fighting, and go through the science of what you need to do and where you need to be when thrown into a position like that. And when we spar its full contact bare knuckle. So, with the knowledge I've gained from it I can honestly fight about 3 people and hold my own, but its fucking tough.

Actually, the only way to actually learn how to fight out on the street, is to fight out on the street. Only by experience can you actually put to use what you learned. Trust me.
You can go through years of training in a school, then get into a small scuffle at a party and once your adrenaline starts going you forget everything. It's all about the practice and bringing what you learn into real life. So, if a guy who casually gets into fights all the time picks a fight with a kid who practiced kung fu for years, but never actually fought, the kid who practiced kung fu would get fucked up.

Good luck to you Veritas, get on aim!!!!!!
Now...as far as this UFC thing goes, my bro in law knows a guy who does something like that here in Gboro; from what I hear regular training itself is pretty intense so be safe.
