Because the twins and computer shop reference was about my husband.

EDIT: Letting it go. Still though, man. Imagine how you'd feel if someone was taking potshots at Erin.

As for your fighting, some Judo might help you. Ushemi is the practice of taking any kind of fall, including a tackle. Karate from my experience is pretty hardcore in fights, but like TKD it presents a striking pattern that a good opponent will figure out (as they're predominantly striking arts in America). If you know anyone who can teach you some Jujitsu fast, 90% of fights end on the ground.

Basics, if you're on the ground pull him into your chest, or put your face in his stomach if your guard's been passed. Protect your face, whatever you do. If he puts a hand on the mat you can lock a choke in pretty quick with practice (if you have a partner to train with). If he puts a hand on your solar plexus throw your legs up (if you can) on his shoulders, squeeze in with your knees and pivot your hips up. You can look most of this stuff up on the internet so long as you have someone to practice with.

I think it's half-guard, where he's between your legs, that you can lock a leg around his ankle when pulled close, grab his gi, and roll him. Afterward they'll be expecting it if the fight goes on. Once you're on top spread your legs so you have a wider base and are harder to roll.

Try not to let anyone get side control. Good luck man. Interested in how it turns out.

And he uses contractions, which is a small indicator that he's telling the truth.

I'm kind of confused as to why someone would make that up and just post it for strangers to see haha but whatever I guess dumber shit has happened here. Kenny, the old Paragus but I dont know who is now, can vouch that its the real deal haha.

And thanks for the tips! We do a lot of ground work and work a lot of pressure point techs to back up our holds to help for a tap out.

I can't lie, I'm nervous as fuck haha I never fought in a ring in front of a crowd and all that so I can only imagine the feeling I'm going to get when I step in there.

Bil Baer Jaxx Wrote:A black belt? How many people do you think you could fight at one time with a blackbelt? Average street tuffs, obviously

I have a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do also. In order to promote to blackbelt I had to be able to spar two other blackbelts at once and hold my own, and I'm expected to be able to take three slightly lower level belts at once and win.

I took MMA for awhile, and I learned Brazilian jujitsu, hapkido, Wing Chun, and a bit of boxing and wrestling. I'm not incredibly adept in any of them, though. Out of all of those things, Tae Kwon Do is the most useless fucking thing I've ever learned. It would never work in a legitimate fight, but the instincts and reflexes it teaches are what's useful. And the self-discipline and mental discipline learning the martial art from start to finish brings is probably the most important aspect, in my opinion.

I've never done any official MMA fighting. Mostly because I'm poor and because the area I'm living in has no such official events, however, I am very enthusiastic about it and I was always certain I could hold my own in a fight of my own weight class. Which would be about 140 lbs, and I'm 5'4 3/4".

Sparring in my class was relatively unrestrained because of our inability to go to an actual tournament, so I've been knocked out once and almost knocked out two or three times. I clocked a guy in the jaw with an uppercut once and saw the stars fly and almost knocked him out, which was probably one of the most satisfying feelings I've ever had. I also made a couple guys tap out with Brazilian jujitsu armbars, and I accidentally rolled someone's ankle during a spar once with a leg sweep and it was considered legit.

My sensei almost got into UFC. After sparring him, I realized how fucking ridiculous you'd have to be to actually get in. I thought I was good...well, I came at him with a jab and was on the ground and had NO idea what happened.

A lot of the guys who go to tournaments are just insanely good.

I'm interested in Wing Chun, Krav Maga, and Aikido. I just need a job.

Krav Maga has the best combat advantage. They basically teach you to do what it takes to win. Israeli's know how to fucking fight. It's also personal preference. I'd like to learn Krav Maga, but I'm too heavy atm.

There's not a lot of places to learn it anyway. Good luck finding a legitimate teacher.

Wing Chun is nuts. Most of the good practitioners believe in ancient chinese mysticism and energies.

Most modern day Martial Arts are mostly for show since trainers focus on moves and skill sets that would be beneficial in sports, or for demonstrations. Ancient martial arts were more practical.

That's why Krav Maga seems like hot shit, since it's designed with the idea of it being used in combat.

A lot of schools teach the fight to run mentality instead of fight to win, but it's basic math at the end of it all. He who practices most can hold his own the best in related weight classes (Bruce Lee could've probably whipped Brock Lesner, but he also trained for hours daily for YEARS -- 150 < 245), but if you're fighting someone that's four hundred pounds good luck getting a submission.

At the same time you probably won't get very far without learning some technique that's necessary.

Being that it's related, and completely mind blowing, here:

Alright...

As a friend I'm going to ask that this thing is dropped Kaden; you too Kaz. Just let it go from this thread before old wounds are opened. I'd hate a feud to break out.

Good luck Veritas. Kick some ass.

I'm only dropping it because this is Veritas' thread.
