Since the pre-order demo comes out today, I figured it deserved its own thread.
I can't wait for the Jockey in particular. Looks fun AND hilarious.

I think my brother will be boycotting this game. He's -really- pissed that Steam is making him shell out money again like less than a year later for things that they usually release for free on other games.
I can kind of see where he's coming from. But I'll probably still get this anyway :\

The boycotting is supremely retarded IMO.

The existence of L4D2 is absolutely disgusting.
That said... I'm definitely purchasing it, anyway.

I think its absolutely retarded that they started L4D2 IMMEDIATELY at the launch of the first one. They didn't add any content to the original (not a large amount). The original was fantastically fun though. I just hate that they let it burn out fast and then make an entire new game to buy. This one also has melee weapons, which somewhat disappoints me, since I liked that instead of everyone carrying a crowbar, you had pistols with infinite ammo.
Ah well, curious about the new zombie types.

The way I look at it, yeah they released a small game and mislead their followers on this one, making them think there would be substantial DLC. But this is what game companies that are not valve always do. With all the awesome DLC and superb games they release I'm gonna allow them a cash cow.

Don't get me wrong. I love nearly anything Valve makes it seems, so I'll definitely get it at some point. I'm just upset over those mentioned points.

Just pre-ordered it to get the demo, considering it's way overpriced I'm feeling assraped right about now.

45 dollars overpriced? If you say so.

Yeah... it doesn't cost any more than the first Left 4 Dead. How is that overpriced?

1) Are all PC games cheaper than console games?
2) Jesus Christ, 60 dollars is a lot of money.

Okay fair enough, the euro've gone down a lot so it is cheaper than it used to be, but in all honesty I'd prolly save 10-15 euro if I had waited for it to get out in the stores. I'm talking Steam prices fyi.

I think that they were making new content for L4D, then they had so much new stuff that they thought it deserved a sequel.

I'd personally much rather pay for a brand-new game than keep playing the same game with some new stuff. L4D2 definitely feels like a proper sequel, not just an expansion pack like many sequels.
I had a new favourite gun the moment I picked up the magnum. If not for that, I'd probably never let go of melee weapons though.

Yeah, playing it, it definitely feels like a huge improvement. I wasn't a huge fan of l4d actually, but I really enjoyed the demo. Feels less like a HL2 mod and more like its own game, if you know what I mean.
