That really what he needs to do, apparently Roy is a black belt in BJJ. Doesn't Kimbo have a coach, he should be working on improving Kimbo's ground game.

He needs more time. It's only been 2 years. It takes like 6 years to get a black-belt in BJJ, that should put it in perspective.

Whatever he does he better do it quick because his old ass doesn't have 6 years.

He doesn't have to be putting guys into submission, all they really need to teach him is how to break holds and resist take downs. He doesn't need to learn all of BJJ, he just needs to learn the counters so he can pound the shit out of his enemies.

kimbo's technique was fine. he made a mistake by throwing that knee while he was retreating, pretty much pulled roy down on top of himself, but mistakes happen. the only reason anybody ever gets caught in a crucifix is when you have no energy to stop it, because it has a very slow and deliberate setup. and it was a loose crucifix too. normally, you wrap up one of the arms between your legs, roy only had his left leg laying on top of kimbo's right arm.

cardio, cardio, cardio

the main event of ufc63 was hughes vs penn, where in the end penn gets pulled down and put in a crucifix after gassing. don't cry to me about bj not having enough bjj experience, he got his blackbelt in three years training under the gracies and was the first non-brazilian to win in a bjj blackbelt competition. there's a reason his nickname is The Prodigy, yet he lost out to a crucifix

Rampage Jackson is such a bitch. Wtf is with not comforting his fighter when Brendan beat him. He's got no class.

Yeah I lost respect for Rampage after that. And he was out having a good time instead of getting his fighter ready for the fight in the first place. He's pretty much been an ass the entire season so far, actually. He's funny and entertaining, but coaching is obviously not his thing.

In regards to the Kimbo fight, nobody has stated this:

The referee has the option to stand fighters up from the ground. Rather than calling the fight while Roy was laying atop Kimbo, he should have stop them up.

To me, the thread is less about criticizing/defending Avatar and more about wondering how stoned Jack was when he saw the movie/made the thread.

He wasn't just laying ontop of Kimbo. He had him in a crucifix hold(?) and was pounding him in the face, albeit with some pretty weak punches.

Rashad Evan's team is steamrolling team Rampage. I wonder why it's been so easy, did Evans pick better fighters, or is he a better coach. The winning team gets to pick the match-ups right? Maybe Rashad is just matching up his fighters with opponents he knows they'll have an advantage over.

Key point in your post being "albeit with some pretty weak punches."

I don't really know the UFC's rules, but it seems to me if somebody's got an opponent completely immobilized and unable to defend themself, AND is attacking, not just restricting their opponent, the referee shouldn't be able to stop the fight and stand both fighters up. That doesn't really make sense to me.

The ref kept saying "I need work, Kimbo!", which basically means "do something you fucking idiot or you're going to lose". You can't just stay there and take hits for the entire round.

Saz, this is all coaching. Rashad picked the better fighters, and he knows a lot better what matchups will benefit him. Rampage is an idiot, it doesn't even look like he cares about this show at all. That exchange between the two at the end was hilarious, though.

"I can fight chu wit cho style, and still beat cho ass."

Also, is Wes Sims retarded? He seems kind of slow.

Jackson's team lost big last time, too. Forest Griffin was setting matches up that were mostly based on coin tosses, and on paper Quinton's team should have had the advantage in a lot of those fights. These fights have a lot to do with the fighters themselves, at least more than event fights do. Because of time constraints they can't get much coaching, practice, or physical/mental training. The TUF tournament is merely a system to pick a few from the best of the best and offer them contracts, instead of offering most of them contracts only to watch them fall apart on fight night.

Lesner vs Carwin fight canceled http://sports.espn.go.com/extra/mma/news...id=4597065

Apparently Brock has the swine flu, has had it for almost a month, and he just can't get over it. I've got that shit right now, too. It's brutal. I've been down since Friday but it already feels like it's been a week. I don't even have the energy to masturbate, so this has got to be the longest stretch of time I've gone without since I learned about it. Life has lost nearly all meaning. Stay strong, Brock. We'll get through this.

Also, Phil Baroni is hilarious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPwFIcdC2oo

These guys are like school bullies when not training, always finding someone to pick on. That one guy with the teeth and spiky hair, can't remember his name, but he is a twat. Complete wind-up merchant. He lost his only fight too, so you'd think he'd maybe keep his head down.

Matt does seem like he overreacts to things and telling the other team about the match-ups early on was sketchy, but still doesn't deserve the stick he gets.

Saz, I'm freaking stoked about the Pacquiao vs Cotto fight. I predict Pacquiao to win by knockout.

Does honesty earn respect or inspire revenge? Is it smarter to attack the strong or annihilate the weak?

Should be interesting. Unlike Hatton and DeLaHoya, Cotto is in his prime, along with being bigger than Pacquiao. But I have to agree with you, can't see Pacquiao losing.

I really hope this isn't the same as the Mayweather V Marquez fight, where it runs waaaaay past it's schedule.

I give Cotto credit for lasting almost 12 rounds. Pacquiao out performed the bigger Cotto at his own game. Pacquiao is simply the best until Mayweather can try to prove him wrong, that's if Mayweather even wants to fight him after Pacquiao's incredible performance.

Pacquiao is just on another level right now. It would be extremely interesting to see if Mayweather's great defense could stand up to Pacquiao's speed and angled punches. Hope that fight gets made.
