For the record. Goddammit I hate that every saga ever makes CA not matter.
Just saying.

Yeah, let's make CA matter in a remotely competitive saga and watch no one join. Sounds like a blast. And it kind of automatically limits the actual 'competition' of it to two or three people.
And in the event examples Sophia has posted thus far, i can't honestly see CA mattering at all. You're higher CA is not going to help you in a theater competition, or a pageant, or a cook-off.

I have analyzed the data with a team of dedicated scientists and come to the shocking conclusion that tolerance of CA mattering in a saga is directly proportional to how high you are on the CA list.
This discovery will shake the world as we know it.

Yeah, i'm going to disagree with that. I'm sixth, and thus near the top, on the CA list and I'm adamantly against it being used in directly competitive sagas. Which is irrelevant since this is primarily a story saga, or so i gather.
Regardless, how would a higher CA help you in the events that Sophia has hinted at?

CA not counting is lame.
People not joining things because CA counts is lame.
Both are completely understandable.
Not a whole lot we can do about it.

I hate CA, for the record. I wish we just didn't have stats.
The fact that CA is there makes certain events that I had in mind impossible. It was easier on AD because everyone was pretty much the same strength.
I want to make it irrelevant. I really do. But I don't think it's fair.

I agree with Belle's statements to a certain extent. Me personally am against CA being used in competitive sagas and this is coming from someone who's CA's is higher than 2/3 of the RPG. As Alex pointed out, implementing CA into a competitive saga hinders people with low CA from joining out of the fear of being dominated by the powerhouses. Implementing CA also ruins the competitive aspect.
Does honesty earn respect or inspire revenge? Is it smarter to attack the strong or annihilate the weak?

I was under the understanding that this wasn't a PvP saga.
My bad, I guess?

ASS had a few power players. Some of them assuredly abused their power in the events, which has turned me off of CA (also why I quit AD).
So, in summary of the discussion, giving people power tests their character. My message to you who have high CA is don't abuse other people's characters just because you have a God build. That stuff will drive people away from the site.

Before I say anything...which character were you, Cain?
EDIT: Did a bit of sleuthing. Were you Crono?

You're really worried about that, aren't you, Cain?

Yes to the first and iffy on the second question. I just don't want someone new to the roleplay experience to get the crap kicked out of their character because of some 'points' that someone's earned. That's troubling enough to make some people quit is the point. Though super powers are super powers a competition shouldn't be about rank earned, but instead, about writing.

Awesome, though. =D
