Skyrim Like/Hate:

Kaden Wrote:Ward?

You can get a ton of armor from some of the Wards. You can also Ward shouts.
His talk of weapon/shield sounds like a warrior-type character, so I doubt he has the mana or perks to make wards work in a grueling battle.

If he really can't use wards effectively, I'd recommend a mage companion and staff of summon-something. The dark elf from Azura's quest is the best I've seen, she has strong lightning/ice and summons fire atronachs.

I just got Skyrim...and I know it'll take time but...I hate the controls x.x

I'm gonna tough it out with the keyboard/mouse, but if I have to I'll switch to controller. I just hate how much I have to move my mouse to look around, it feels like it's slow, and I'm so uncoordinated when moving around.

Welcome to the world of PC! Remember to adjust your mouse sensitivity in the Options or you will feel like a drunken sailor!

Yesterday I got a shield with an automatic Ward on it that absorbs elemental damage. I came in my pants. <3

Flat out refuse to accept that you're playing on anything not below Adept. Krev the Skinner (a silver hand leader) basically one shots you regardless of armor and if you block it with a shield you get one or two strikes in.

Ur doin it wrong, then. I had no problem with Krev on Adept. And I am bad at this game. I'm 2H Nord w/ Heavy armor.

I'm playing Expert, but I was told by my friend who played it on Adept that he had to use the Unrelentable Force + run ahead and spam attacks tactic, because if Krev got a swing or two in he was done for.

Dislike: Dark Brotherhood quests aren't nearly as unique or interesting this time around. I mean, I don't expect any kill quest to ever match the party one from Oblivion, but they didn't even really try it seems.

You can change the mouse sensitivity. My mom plays on PC and she did that to make it easier to move.

morrowind had an ebony greatsword/artifact called umbra that had soultrap on it, and it was my favorite sword in the game. i forged, enhanced, and enchanted a duplicate of it in skyrim. adjusted it to hold about ~2000 charges and i can one-hit most things that i run into. it's really helping me fill soul gems so i can level up my enchanter skill

finished smithing a full suit of daedric armor. waiting to get the last enchanter perk before i enchant it (the one that lets you put two enchantments on one item), but i'm so tough already that only minibosses can threaten me

already planning my next character for my four-day weekend: pure mage, no weapon skill. perks to get: atronauch buffs, summon two monsters, shock and dual cast destruction, some alteration and restoration defense, and smith/enchant so i can make a good set of daedric armor for an archer companion. plus, pick up that thunderstorm shout, and top it off with the ritual stone to raise the dead en mass. once i get that together i'm going on a rampage to wipe out all civilization in skyrim

Modding community'll handle it.

That said, I've never had a problem with it. I usually end up with 100 or so saves for each character, so if I accidentally overwrite one, I'm only down an hour or so.

XD I have 175 right now. I just make a new save every time I advance the story or myself even a little bit. I need a system like Mass Effect 2 to even come close to being organized.

Hate: I don't wanna do a stormcloak character, they're assholes. But, I must.

finishing up sauron's quest to slay dragons and checked general stats. like chuck norris i dont sleep; i wait. been a werewolf nearly the entire time, favored healing spells and fire breath shouts. 600 weapons and 250 soul gems made. only 1 murder (that i got away with) and 45g bounty. made all custom enchanted armor.

+80% bow damage
+40% two handed damage
+40% block damage
+124 hp
+124% mana regen
47% resist fire, 37% resist frost, 40% resist magic (it stacks, so really 87% resist fire)

So, I was fighting an Elder dragon, right, and it does the sort of special animation it does when it's gonna land on a tower or what have you, but it's twisted all wrong. At first I assume it's a bug, then the mother fucker crash lands right in front of me, sliding along and leaving behind a huge crater-trail until he stopped, dazed, before instantly going to the eating person animation on me. Awesome.
