Guild Wars 2
#21
Ah wish I checked this thread prior to the beta weekend. I was actually in Darkhaven as well, kind of ironic. Would have loved to play with you guys.

I played a Charr Necromancer and loved it. I dipped my toes into both PvE and PvP content, finishing the story mode that ended at level 20 and rocked sPvP and WvW. It was great.

For a game in Beta, it played very well and I was glad to see ArenaNet working so diligently during the weekend to fix bugs and issues that people were having.

I played around 30 hours over the weekend and got completely sucked in. People were afraid that the game was overhyped but I have to say, it was all truth. The game, for me, is amazing and just what I've been waiting for in an MMORPG. Haven't had that much fun since the early days of Ultima Online. I love how they don't hold your hand and let you pretty much go and do whatever you want, as well as play however you want.

Great game and can't wait until the next Beta weekend.

Yeah PvP was fun, even sPvP with only 2 maps that were playable. I found myself spending hours in it. I went in holding high expectations and found that the game surpassed what even I was hoping for. It was great. Even me, who absolutely HATES questing, found the story mode and dynamic events to be a lot of fun. It didn't feel like questing at all.

No shit, Sherlock. I'm surprised you came up with that all by yourself. I meant how frequent they sponsor them.

lol They said they are aiming for BWEs being at least once a month. So probably at the end of May will be the next one.

Definitely by December 1st. As I understand it, WoW is kinda bleeding subscribers at this point, and though it seems unlikely we'll see another MMO with quite the same staying power (considering how many we've seen rise and sink into semi-obscurity since), I'm fairly certain Blizzard sees GW2 as a threat.

I'm gonna be on the Desolation EU server. Guesting sold me instantly, because my friends are regularly spread across at least 2-3 servers.
