Pine Valley
#1
The sun rises lazily over the mountains, casting a beautiful glow across the landscape. Storeowners are just now waking, while farmers have already been up for a few hours, preparing for a day of good, hard work. A rooster crows, and the day begins in Pine Valley.

This is truly an Eden all in itself. The land is fertile and plentiful, ideal for farming. The town is in its infancy, with new citizens arriving all the time. Opportunities for advancement are endless, with doors open for those who seek it. Join the young town today, and carve yourself a slice out of the future of Pine Valley.

Er...I don't think that sounds suitable to the site...

You don't necessariliy have to be the nicest guy around, but something like "Drug Dealer" or "Axe Murderer" as your Occupation would not be accepted.

And Tao, the setting isn't exactly medieval, just distanced. TV's are attainable for those who want them, as are radios, electric lights, and perhaps even a computer. But this is a small little hollow secluded from the rest of the world, and therefore, not concerned with the world.

Can you shoot kids for trespassing on yo' propertay?

Probably not since I doubt firearms are attainable. But you can still chase them with a fork Big Grin

But still its a roleplaying community based on...nothing. I mean when was the last time a novel was written about how some dude liked sitting on his porch and sipping lemonaide. I'm not dissing the ideology of the rpg leaving it open, but being a normal citizen walking around and buying your groceries is not interesting. I can do that right now and I will have visual aides. Now a sleepy town full of farmer who suddenly end up in a situation where they are overrun with sadistic homicidal individuals with extreme demonic tendencies, then yeah.

You obviously have never played Harvest Moon.

Alright Tao, cheers. I suppose it's stylistic, yeah?

Harvest Moon was the r0x0rz. Seriously. The only one in the series I did not think was above-average was Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life for GameCube. All others are beautiful, beautiful games.

Well, if you piss the chicks in there off, they could do the equivalent of that. Not literally, though.

Nami just leaves. Celia's too nice. But Muffy'll kick your ass.

But... I didn't get to hack stuff up. =(
If you could summon like, giant wheat crop of doom to rain fiery death upon people, it would've been okay. =(

Whats wrong with people? A game doesnt have to include death and violence to be fun. Also, Harvest Moon is one-of-a-kind, similarly like GTA.

You're quite incorrect. If I want to play a game pretending it's everyday life, I'll go and get on with every day life. When I play a game, I want to beat up monsters, shoot terrorists in the head, or do something I probably wouldn't do. That's the appeal of games, books and movies. I'd go as far to say if you don't feel that way, it's probably an absence of actual life that leaves you longing to endulge it.

Or do something I probably wouldn?t do..........lets repeat......or do something I probably wouldn?t do. And thats exactly the point of Harvest Moon. Did you notice whats the main theme of Harvest Moon? *drum roll* Farming. How many of us do you think do farming for a living? None that I know of.

If you look at it from a diffrent angle, Harvest Moon is a buissness simulation. Except that instead of having a company, you have a farm. And instead of having workers, you are the worker. The harder you work, the higher will be the profits.

So tell me. Do you think that you would probably do farming? Or even do it in a interesting, fun and a bit cartoonish way like its potrayed in Harvest Moon? I think not.

I live and work on a farm. =o
You might Freiza but say we did a poll, on people who own farms, work on farms, and live there entire life on farms, do you hosetly think unless they were lyiing which just might be the case to prove someone wrong .Anway do you really think that maybe the Largest portion of the poll says theyve never truly been on a farm? I do, I mean lets face it most farms nowadays are owned by company workers, and heck there not even truly farms. I dont doubt you live on a farm, but come on Jackie had a point not a lotta people play video gameson stuff they do in real life, you cant go and kill people in real life, so to you its fun to play a game on stuff thatt youd like to do. Same with people living in a city, maybe they want to do something that they cant do in there normal lives cause or something like it, and want to do something thats not what they do in there normal lives.

My point is you live on a farm so I guess harvest moon wouldnt appeal to you.

Actually, the main reason Harvest Moon is so popular is because the effects perceived are almost instantaneous. While in real life it would take months for crops to grow, on Harvest Moon, you can have an entire field of corn planted, harvested, and sold in a matter of an hour.

And, it's fantasy. If I could live in any Universe other than this one, it would be the Harvest Moon universe, no doubt. It's a simplistic life, and that's my greatest dream.

Enough bickering, if you have a problem with the RPG take it up on that RPG.

Yes, thank you Burter. This thread was created for the sole purpose of informing people of this RPG. Discussion, while not particularly preferred, was allowed. Arguing, however, will not be tolerated.

If you have a problem with something going on over there, leave it over there. Don't waste Chubbs' bandwidth with this.

You can discuss, you just can't bicker or spam. If you don't know the difference, you are a moron.
