Ya ever think you're going insane? Well the thought has crossed my mind numerous times in the past few weeks. Just the fact that I get sudden really violent urges for no real reason and that sometimes I just think really hard about one particular thing and the thing i'm thinking of seems very odd by the time i'm through...even if it's something quite common that no one else gives a second thought. Ever happened to anyone?
BTW I use the mature tag here cause saying I think i'm insane begs for people to say I am or to mock me in some other way, so please no spam. If you have some insight on the subject post. If not don't bother and don't give this thread a second thought.

I've wondered this about myself before. The question that I always came to was "does it matter?"

Coming into puberty + Violent urges = Violent masturbation.
Congratz. You are among the rank of few.
Edit: Ok, there was no point to this, I was bored.

One of the conditions of being isnane is not knowing that you are.
So, a scientist could give you indesputible evdience, but you'd be like "Naw."

True, just a thought though. Probably just need to stop repressing emotions.

Hellfighter said it pretty well. As long as you acknowledge that you could be insane, you're alright. Personally I believe I may or may not be insane, but it just works out better to carry on as if I wasn't. I don't know if that made sense. I contemplate my possible insanity quite frequently, as I am renowned on The Internets and my WoW clan for being wtfbatshitloco insane.

Suuuureee...And puppies turn into muffins when they are 8...
Anyway 16, you are not insane, as has been said before me, if you believe you are insane, you are not, because if you were insane, you wouldn't be thinking like that, you would be thinking crazy things like sunblock is a plot to destroy the world or something.

Yeah, i'm probably just having a bad uh....month. I dunno. I'll get better eventually, thanks guys.
EDIT: Hmmm....now that you mention it....Sunblock does seem kind of suspicious as it doesn't really block the sun.

I have contemplated many of life's schtuff, and it's better to not. I won't stop, I know that, I enjoy it too much, but I really shouldn't.

On an interesting/boring note, most 'clinically insane' people have almost no difference with 'normal' people. Once you get admitted into a mental asylum either voluntarily or by force, your human rights are pretty much forfeited. A few Psychologists ran an experiment where they got themselves admitted into mental asylums all across America by making up some bullshit stories about possibly having schizophrenia. Once they were inside, they tried to get out, explaining that they weren't really insane and that they were just running an experiment. Obviously that just made them look more insane... Inside the nurses and such made no eye contact with the patients and treated them like nobodies. Once they got out thanks to outside help, they had the permanent label which shows on all your job applications, etc...
Loads more on the study, but I think I've unnecessarily soberified the topic enough, not to mention bored those who have no interest.
Edit: I killed the topic!

Aye, the main researcher did it mainly as a joke, and expected them to all get out within a week. Instead it took a few months, and a lot of the volunteers were very pissed
They did a followup experiment to try and let the hospitals regain some of the legitimacy... They said a load of 'fake inmates' (who were just normal people) would be trying to apply over the next few months, and the institutes were to try and recognise which patients these were. They guessed about 300 patients weren't insane, but none of the 'fake inmates' were actually sent off.
It's all guess-work. The reason so many sane people get put away is because generally people would prefer a few sane people to be locked away than for one or two dangerous people to be on the outside. It doesn't really work. Basically there is no definitive way to categorise someone as insane.

We're talkin' clinically insane, I believe.

Read my posts before. There is no 'real' scientific way to define 'clinically insane'.
A lot of people who are supposedly sane would refuse to believe you if you said they were insane. Hell, most 'sane' people would. And a lot of 'insane' people accept their labels.

Simply because you refuse to believe that you are insane is not a classification for insane, it's just something that insane people are attributed to. And psychology is a science of the mind and body, so there is a scientific way. o.O

The study I was talking about was from Psychology - the researchers were Psychologists. I'm studying it at A-level.
Anyway, I guess you're right in that sense. There are some attributes which would point you towards being insane. I suppose the point I'm trying to make is, there's no cutoff point where you are or aren't insane. You just have a sliding scale of normality, where some people are more insane than others, but not necessarily clinically insane, and vice versa. And if you're damn far down that scale you can then be called insane, it just depends on who's the judge.

Well, it can be scientifically proven, but with all scientific facts, they are not "really" proven. You are right, though, it is basically bias. I plan on taking psychology next year, I have done some reading on the study, and I am an avid viewer of humans. =) Psychology pwns.
