FoF...the movie!?!

Ok, kind of.

Has anyone else ever seen the Japanese movie, "Battle Royal"? If not, I HIGHLY suggest doing so.

Basically it follows the same rules as FoF 1.

Here's the overview.

Children of Japan go on strike, not going to school and such, so the adults responded with creating the BR Act, the Battle Royal. Every year a class is selected to battle it out on a deserted island and only one can survive, or everyone dies.

So bascially, the army of Japan drugged a class, who thought they were going on a field trip, and took them to the deserted island. There they were given packs, full of different items, guns, knives, pot tops(lol), and paper fans, ect...just a bunch of semi helpful and needless stuff. From there they all run off, one at a time into the hostile environment.

Guess what, they had explosive collars!

So anyways, before they even make it out of the class room, two people get killed, one, a knife to the head(by the teacher), then one of the collars explode(ouch). Then they're all running around, girls and boys both, killing off each other in some crazy ass ways.


This movie is VERY gory, but I still loved it to death, so if you can see it, SEE IT!

So in my final thought, I was wondering if maybe this is where Burter got the idea...if not, then BURTER you must watch this too! Maybe you'll get some ideas for FoF III!

That's what FoFII reminded me of... I nearly got to see the film once, I really want to watch it... But was disallowed because of the time it was on. That pissed me off because I've never seen it on TV since. I only got to watch the first half hour or so. If Burter hadn't seen the film I'd be VERY surprised, what with the collars and all.

There's also a Battle Royale manga... I'm considering ordering the movie online now that you've reminded me how much I want to see the full thing. I've read loads about it to try and find out what I've missed. Basically I'm as far you can get as a fan of the film without actually having seen the film.

I read the book. It was pretty good, and kinda made you sick at the same time. But nonetheless, it was a good read.

I was under the impression that DA was based off of Battle Royale. I've seen both movies, although the second isn't nearly as good as the first. It was based off of a novel that was turned into manga.
