How'd you hear about Chubbs?

I've told this story a million times over, but, *picks up guitar*

I went on WC3, and some fagegot whispered me like "hey Greg" and I was like "wtf u want darkness_reign". For that was the name said fagegot went by on the old Blood Moon Clan forums (a site I co-ran). You might know him as Zarbon.

And we started talking about RPing, and I was ranting about how it's dead, and it's impossible to find decent RPing communities anymore. And he linked me here, and I snorted derisively. But I bookmarked it anyway.

Sometime that night, when I was browsing the site, my AS obsession latched on and filled the hole where I'd just left WoW. Then I spent hours reading the whole site, before finally thinking 'what the hell' and applying for the closest thing to Cell, Cell Jr.

And that's how I defeated Jesus Christ.

Searched for, found, and selectively elminated my dreams of starting one of my own by joining Chubbs. That's pretty much it.

I'm the admin of a 2-year old community. We had a newb come to our site that had stolen content and art from Chubbs. Some of the staff here noticed it, notified me, and I've kept tabs on this site ever since.

I found it on a search engine about 6 or so years ago. At that time, it was pretty difficult to find. At first I didn't even know it was through a message board. I just really liked DBZ at the time and being a really young kid at the time I saw the old-school training system they had. And with the limited attention span I have, I was instantly interested. I think I was looking to play Vejita, but instead I snagged King Vejita instead. I think they were using the coolboards at that time, but I didn't really start posting until they changed to forumco.

So, I punched it into google. Chubbs came up, and I, being a n00b at the time, was like..."Woah..."

I'd never RPed in anything more than chat one liners, quick paced and stuff. So, I quickly X-ed out. But someone from here had saw a newbie account registered (I had registered instead of posting as a guest), and began summarizing shiznit to me. Borgos, from ages ago.

I joined as Panbuukin, skeptical, and I got hooked. I had basic RP skill, from years of IRC RPing, one liners and such. So, it was easy to catch onto. Unsatisfied with my hasty character decision, one day, Puar came to me in a dream! Except not literally. I grew bored of being overlooked because I was a cat, now I'm Celipa. And I'm lovin' it.

Originally, Android 20 told me about this place years ago. But I wasn't all that great at writing, so I passed. Last year, the same person showed me Friend or Foe, where I first joined. Then Celipa prodded me to join this place, so I did.

Gohan from Zento, aka Chris/Chubbs, emailed me asking me to check out what he'd made. I joined, and was a staffer a week later. (peppers ftw) I kinda helped build the place.

Chris's dad suffered a sudden brain hemmorhage and died a few years ago. It was literally as sudden as "walk in to the kitchen, hey dad, what's up, OMFG *drop*", although I don't in any way mean to take the humanity out of it as a joke or anything.

Needless to say, he took it very very hard, and after repeated absences, he decided to sign the site over to Jeroen who was hosting us at the time. He then left permanently, although I've spoken to him once or twice on AIM since then. He's dropped in and checked on the site before and left posts, but essentially he's just moved on to other things, like his music and such.

Yeah, due to boredom, a fan-boy love for Dragonball Z, and a popular search engine, I ended at up at Chubbs. From there, I started reading role-plays from the Takeover saga, mostly Bra's and Cell's stuff, then I wanted to join the site immediately.

Of course, I didn't know jack squat about the site, filled out an application, didn't get accepted, then tried again at a later date, got accepted and became Android 15. I role-played as Android 15 for awhile, and then felt that I wasn't good enough to keep the guy. So I quit and stayed on Chubbs as a floating OCC account. Then one day Panbuukin (Celipa) told me I should join as 'Buukin, and I agreed, and rejoined.

I?ve been with 'Buukin ever since then.

Ah yes, my wonderful reign of terror. Those were the good days.

I was walking down Park Heights and Wylie one afternoon. Then, for some awkward reason, a drug dealer approached me about some new ganja deal he had, which was 2 nickels for 8 dollars. I gladly accepted. Then later that day I went outside and caught up with my main man Tuffy. He had been searching google for dbz shit, because you know, dbz was still kinda cool then. He came across this site. We both said it was gay.


When I got home, however, I joined. I didn't do anything, and was deactivated. So I joined again. The same thing resulted. That's when I joined SW and chilled there for a while. Then I joined Chubbs again as Bojack. I went inactive and was deactivated once more. That's when I finally came back as Gokua and stayed.


That's how the lovable Bun became a part of the Chubbsian community. =D
