Needless to say, he took it very very hard, and after repeated absences, he decided to sign the site over to Jeroen who was hosting us at the time. He's dropped in and checked on the site before and left posts, but essentially he's just moved on to other things, like his music and such.

Like the most, I found it on Google. But not with the intention of finding a DBZ RPG website. I was looking for an actual RPG (as in video game) with the DBZ theme. Chubbs was the first on the list. I got curious and checked it out. After a bit of examining it, I said to myself "Eh why the hell not?!" and decided to try the thing. The rest is history.

Combination of things. I was in desperate need of working on my writing skills. I had the grammar, spelling, and creativity, but writing was my worst subject. I needed to find a way to improve before standardized testing rolled around. I had also just watched a rerun on DBZ on TV, and it made me kind of nostalgic, so I decided to look up a "DBZ game" to play real quick. Unfortunately, I found this horrible thing called an "RPG." Well, guess what, as Bujin here will gladly tell you because he knows it annoys me, I ended up on a DBZ forum that wasn't exactly what you'd call "top notch." Well, they took forever to process my joining app, so I found Chubbs. I saw it was focused on writing and stuff, so I was like "eh, whatever. Huh? All the good characters are gone? Crap. I'll just take A20."

One event lead to another, and now this place has my soul. Standardized tests have come and gone, so that excuse is out the window, this place just has me. ON a side note, I do owe this place a great deal of gratitude, because of the scores I got. Sure, writing was still my lowest score, but whatever. At least it was pretty decent.

I've been on RPGs for quite some time. DBZ was actually on in the early 90's, but many people don't remember that it was before this thing called "Cartoon Network." I played in a couple of shitty chat RPGs, which I thought were cool at the time, before Pokemon came out. That's when I moved to forum roleplaying, but I sucked pretty hardcore for the longest time. I wrote fanfics for the Pokemon boards and became part of the "elite" society. They had clans call F.I.E.N.D. and D.E.V.I.L. and it was an honor to be in them. When we got rid of AOL, I moved to ezboard DBZ RPGs for a while, and then I got sick of them so I quit.

I was actually Googling for an old RPG I'd been on when I found Chubbs by accident. I gave it a quick look and was like, "Fuck this, too much damn reading." I skimmed over several pages of RPGs before deciding they were all dead or looked shitty, and settled on Chubbs. I joined as the first Spice, hit a brick wall, and switched to Bardock.

And bam. Here I am.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention....when I initially made my application I wanted to join as Krillin beacuse he was a good character and had a good ki basis from which to fight (back then I thought you get to keep the Max Ki which was stated ). But then one of the users warned that they got a Krillin just recently so I had to choose another character. I though Roshi was an interesting choice so I took him. Beacuse he wasn`t enough interesting in his original form, I turned him into his counter-ego Jackie Chun. And now, the rest is really history.

I'm also surprised at some of the alliances I would consider "newb" alliances doing so well.

I think a lot of people join by word of mouth nowadays.

Yeah. I liked Ghost Marine Corps, but it wasn't working. The only active members were me and Twenty. Zarbon was always promising an awesome saga, and never posted, Retane was on the verge of getting us into trouble in the saga so we cut him loose, and the others kinda just sat there. It blew the big one.

In a way, I'm kinda sad that we're in RB now. It's just so fucking huge, one can't really make a name for themselves.
