The rain has stopped...

The raven haired Saiyan looked to the sky a moment before igniting a pyromantic aura around himself briefly, drying himself with ease. Even that brief flash gathered a few looks from the soldiers. "That's what I felt," he muttered under his breath.

The group had been traveling for hours ever since they had left Terebath. They had enjoyed themselves within the Dante Forces village, but the time for enjoyment had since passed and they were now slowly moving from the safety of their own land into that of the wild. The army had undertaken a bit of a gloomy persona once the rain had begun to fall, feeling that without their Commander Broli in the same branch that they had no leadership. Reijin had no doubts for his team, however, as he knew well the abilities of the former King of Vejita-sei. While he'd never served directly beneath him, there was no mistaking the commanding aura that emanated from the descendant Lord.

Reijin's dark eyes surveyed the team as they slowly marched to a stop, deciding to create a camp as the sun begun to lower itself beneath the horizon. The somber procession began to hammer stakes into the ground while lifting tents high for the Commander himself. Reijin had been told that he had been bestowed some form of leadership title himself, but if the title had come with benefits that the rest of the army had not recieved, such as better shelter or food, he'd not seen it. Reijin only had one title befitting him. That title was killer.

A larger form stepped over the hilltop and glanced his way before signaling a nearby soldier to go to him. The Saiyan youth turned and began to walk to where the others had found a circle of trees to sleep beneath, and he tossed his sealed bag next to a tree. He hadn't even had to use the bag of supplies since they'd camped inside villages for the most part, but he could tell that he'd definately need to use it tonight.

"Lt. Reijin," a strong voice called to him.

Simply glancing over his shoulder, Reijin gave the man a sharp nod. "What is it?" he inquired, annoyed at the interruption. He'd done well to keep to himself so far, and the others had begun to grow curious as to who he was.

The man cleared his voice and looked to the sides to ensure himself that noone was within earshot. "You have been summoned. He wishes to see you in his chambers."

Reijin turned, standing to full height as he looked the man in the eye. "Who has summoned me?" he challenged the man. His feet sparked to motion as he neared the messanger.

The man gave a nervous glance back to the tent and then looked to Reijin. "I cannot say. You know that," he ended, almost in a plea.

Chuckling, the adolescent nodded to him. "See to it that you don't," he left floating on the air.

A few moments later, he found himself pushing through the curtains of the tent. The former King's commanding voice called out to him. "Reijin. You are the only man ballsy enough to stride into my tent without announcing your presence beforehand," he acknowledged, raising a brow at the youth. "Regardless, I have an assignment soon for you." He turned and looked down at a small unrolled map on the table, giving Reijin no chance to speak if he had wished to do so. "We have discovered a port city nearby. This is a neutral city. I wish for you to assist me when we go there."

The younger fighter had been studying the chair nearby, finally deciding that those in command didn't exactly have their comforts any better than he himself. He glanced up during the silence to see his superior glowering at him. "So you wish for me to destroy this city? Done," he waved his hand in the air as if magically bringing oblivion upon the residents.

"No!" Lord Vejita snapped. "That is not our goal. We wish to take the city, by force if necessary, to bring about a means to having a better army to deal with this war."

"I already assumed as much," Reijin followed up with. "I assume that you only wish me to destroy them as a last precaution in the event that they do not accept our 'generous offer' of peace?" He winked at his General.

Vejita I growled slightly under his breath at the mock cockiness of the individual before him and finally nodded sharply. "Yes, damn you, that is exactly how it is to go."

Reijin yawned. "So when do we go there?"

The former King looked at the map and then back at his warrior. "Tomorrow, at dawn. Get some rest. The days are going to begin feeling longer, and the nights will feel shorter."

Simply rising to his feet, Reijin pushed his way through the curtains and marched his way back down the hill to find his pack moving from side to side near the tree. Glaring at it for a moment, his mind finally realized exactly why the parcel was in motion. Taking a running start down the hill, he approached the bag with an enormous punt, sending the bag directly into the air to chase after the sun before coming back down to the earth, rolling down the hill with a loud squeel rising from with it.

The Saiyan then watched as the bag rolled to a stop before physically hopping its way back up the hill, whimpering. Reijin's gloved palm covered his face a moment in despair as his worst realizations had proven true. "Saiba?" the backpack whimpered.

The entire unit heard the words suddenly explode from Reijin's mouth. "YOU INFERNAL CREATURE! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?"

The remnants of the previous hours seemed to be dwelled upon by the former king. Time seemed to dwindle backwards at the moment at which Vejita was once again inhabiting the village of Terrabath. King Vejita at that specific second was placed upon in a secured and secluded structure with his fellow commander, Broli. They were engaged in vision, ogling one another with the utmost respect for both parties. This was a shift in their relationship since overall it seemed as through the former king was the dominant creature between the two. Silence drifted endlessly without even the disruption of a sheer murmur for either of the two until a raspy voice was liberated from Vejita's lips. "You wished to speak with me, Commander Broli? I may not know the reasoning, but the importance is quite clear." Lord Vejita paced at a moderate rate while his limbs were embraced by one another. His cranium inched itself upwards in order to appropriately eye his comrade. Broli's hunching figure commenced to speak, but without any hint of altering to his chilling facial expression. "Soon enough you will be approaching Port Karolin. Our scouts have informed me of very minor details regarding this village, but you know all of what you must do. This...Mayor Halon has wished to speak with you regarding the Dante forces seizing control over them. Do as you must, my king."

With that statement alone, Vejita's present state of mind seemed to once again retrieve control over him. The viewpoint of the campground site seemed to flourish with its vibrant colors that seemed to be magnified due to the thickening dimness contributed from the suns absence. Reijin, prior to the interesting flash back, had seemed to volunteer his services in acquiring the town of Port Karolin. Soldiers encircled over the former saiya-jin king seemed to be baffled at the unexplainable motions by their commander. He wobbled slightly by the realization of his whereabouts while shifting his vision throughout his position. The commander edged his back alongside a smoothly polished table while his throat was alliviated of unknown materials while he scrambled to locate a commandment to his troops. "You, soldier, announce to the group that we are to proceed to the Port. Procrastination will not be our downfall, and certainly niether will these villagers. The Dante forces will be viewed from this day forth as to be unwreckoned with." King Vejita snatched some wine that he had preserved during the journey through Terrabath and slipped the nectar down his throathole. It scorned him with it's scalding touch, but was soothing to even the mane on his cranium. His muscles were soothed and unshackled of any form of stress within that moment.

The "king" hurried himself from the tent that had been drilled with spikes to ensure the commanders obscurities to any outsiders. His eyes were once again pleasured, and cursed, with the globe of sunlight that pierced through the heart of the sinister darkness. His command had been concieved in accurate timing while his soldiers claimed objects of any significance to them and formed a huddle over the saiya-jin king. They were all capable fighters, but were ridiculously outfitted in garments of poor class. Pigero, Grandfather Gohan, and Reijin were those that were specifically noted by him. Their eyes were swelling with so much intensity that seemed to enrich King Vejita with so much words that he couldn't successfully obtain them without stuttering. This was symbolic in a sense; the first challenge ever to be before the forces of Dante. This was the experiment that would exterminate the doubts of this team whether or not they could seize victory in Dante's Abyss: Conquest. "Just as I said before men, we are gathered here by the name of Dante. This day will be the day that we prove ourselves. Let not our past dictate this day, but let prospect of a successful future dictate this day. We are only moments of approaching Port Karolin. Our entrance within this village will be peaceful, but do not hesitate to believe that their is possibilities that we will leave with blood on our hands. And if we do, their own blood is precisely what we will give them." King Vejita snarled underneath his breath in such an intimidating fashion while directing his sights towards the village with a confident march.

The journey between the campsite and Port Karolin wasn't extensive as the soldiers believed, even with Vejita implying its short distance. Pigero, Reijin, Grandfather Gohan, and King Vejita were not at all welcomed at the site of them by the villagers alongside their comrades. However, perhaps with some bargaining tactics, that could benefit to an...."understanding". The commander signaled with Reijin almost simultaneously, in agreement upon the idea of acquainting themselves with "Mayor Halon". He still had some business to discuss, particually with two other soldiers, Pigero and Gohan. "You may enjoy yourselves as of now, but observe this port very closely as you do. You're...in control of the army as of now until the our discussion with Mayor Halon has concluded."

OOC: We set up camp in Reijin's post. We're now at Port Karolin, and am going to speak with Mayor Halon. I'll post again in a few hours(possibly).

Reijin watched as the two warriors, Pigero and Gohan he believed they were called, walked off to some destination within the town. He glanced over to his companion and chuckled. "You left control of the unit to these guys?" There was no mistaking the sneer on the man's lips.

Vejita simply gave him a stone hard glare. "They'll be able to handle things until our discussion with the Mayor is complete." Glancing around, the Lord saw a man approaching them with two guards at his side. "I see that our welcoming comittee has arrived," he announced.

The Mayor, upon hearing him, responded in an open tone. "We have yet to decide if we are welcoming you or not. We will, however, agree to listen to what you have to say. Please, come with me," he gestured neutrally towards a building at the corner of the street.

The two Saiyans stepped forth as one, striding proudly through the center of the town square for all to share in the viewing pleasure as they followed behind the Mayor and his two guards as if wolves on the prowl. They were already celebrating victory in their heads, knowing that one way or another, they were leaving with control of this village under their name. Reijin was sure that a Port town would prove to be a powerful asset indeed.

The morning dew was still collecting on the leaves of the trees within the central square while its citizens walked through the area with a suspicious eye upon Reijin and his Lord. Reijin elbowed Vejita I slightly and gestured towards the cluster of children as their parents swept in to herd them away, giving nervous glances over their backs.

"You know, I've never understood how a planet like Dante, completely uncivilized and terraformed constantly into one battleground after another, always seems to have some form of civilization living on it." His eyes continued to stride from villager to villager, locking vision with quite a few of them as they nervous fondled their pikes and staves. "Are these people even real? Or are they some type of creation to make this world seem to be breathing? Is that Mayor even a real person?"

The former King simply shrugged off the thoughts without a moment's reflection. "For our intentions, they are real. That's all that matters to me."

Taking in a breath of cool air, the sounds of the Port Karolin filled his tuned ears while the waves lapped the shoreline. Reijin could see, as they drew closer to the Mayor's quarters, a cluster of fishing boats near the docks with burly workers pulling nets full of fish out from the vessels and throwing them to their strong armed sons.

The crisp chill reminded him that for these people, their peace would not last. Their lifestyle was soon to change, whether they accepted it with open arms, or it was forced upon them through the blood of their children. Reijin didn't like senseless killing, but business was business.

"We are here," Halon announced, turning to the duo. His guard opened the door and he strode through as the Mayor followed closely. The second guard motioned for the two to enter before he himself followed. The door shut, and they were bathed in darkness for a moment before the candles were lit. The aroma of wax filled them as the two took their appointed seats before Mayor Halon's desk in anticipation of the talks to come.

"You may enjoy yourselves as of now, but observe this port very closely as you do. You're...in control of the army as of now until the our discussion with Mayor Halon has concluded." The words resonated in the old mans ears. He and the child, Pigero were in charge of the Fusion Unit of the Dante Forces, at least for the moment. Although it was quite the responsibility, old man Gohan didn?t mind it all that much.

The old humans curiosity got the better of him, he could see water in the distance, a crisp and never ending azure. Slowly he wandered over to the edge of a dock, the unit still in clear view. The sight was something else, although it had rained earlier; the sun was trying its damnedest to break through the thick layer of ever looming clouds. The sea was calm enough; waves would crash against the cement dock and rush up the sides, giving anyone who got too close a nice spray in the face.

Gohan?s mind wandered back to earlier, when Reijin had flared up his aura to dry himself. He knew he was strong, but the energy that was seemingly locked away inside the saiya-jin youth was dark and endless. The aged man wondered how the young saiyan had so much power; after all, Gohan had trained all his life, even under the great Master Roshi, and he had only made it so far. Yet Reijin somehow managed to have him beat a hundred fold. One thing was for sure now; Grandfather Gohan couldn?t wait for battle to start, to see the full extent of Reijin?s power.

The port didn?t really seem to have all that much to do, or it was the fact that Gramps hadn?t really ventured far into the harbor to find anything of interest. Battle loomed overhead, if the Mayor refused the battle would start shortly, and Dante would take the waterfront village by force. Everyone was tense, more so the villagers than the Fusion unit.

OOC: No character development for me, yet. Waiting for the heads up from Burter or whatever.

"Let's start things off. You offer your side of things, and I'll take it into consideration. You must realize that I have the best interests of my people to hold," Halon reminded them.

Reijin looked to Vejita I a moment before speaking. "As you know, there is a massive militaristic competition known as Dante's Abyss: Conquest taking place here. Four armies were chosen to compete in this tournament, and these four armies chose colors to represent them. Each of the four has full intentions of winning this competition, so I will not lie to you and claim that we are seeking to save the world. You, as a leading representative, are more intellegent than that.

'Instead, I have to express that with four armies fighting so intensely to succeed in this competition, you have to realize that there is no way that any village on this island will be able to simply avoid the conflict. Everyone will be involved in some form or another. The very nature of the competition is to literally control every square inch of this island, whether you control happy villages, or burned to the ground remains.

'We chose blue to remind us of the open space. It is the color of tranquility. It is the color of the sea and sky. It is the color of hope. We wish to succeed in this tournament just as badly as any other army on this island, but our aim is to keep the bloodshed on the innocents to a minimum. Every village is going to find themselves under someone's control at some point or another," Reijin stressed, spreading his arms widely before clasping his gloved hands back together and leaning back.

"We just want to keep things as peaceful as possible, so that after this tournament is over you may return to living your peaceful lives. We will do anything that it takes to win this tournament, but we wish to offer everyone the opportunity to keep this as clean and bloodless as possible. We do not wish to cause harm to the outlying villages if they are willing to work with us.

'Another army nearby... Guess what color they chose to represent them? Black. They chose black. The color of desolation. Of emptiness. Of destruction. Their intention is to simply burn the villages to the ground and their way of thinking is that if there are no villages left on the island, then there is noone left to fight them, granting them victory. Regardless of the opportunity to grant safety to the people, they kill for the enjoyment of tormenting the suffering. We wish to stop that. Even now, our scouts believe that one of their forces is hiding just north of here preparing a military strike on this Port."

Reijin leaned forward in his chair and placed his hands before him, palms up, in a sign of peace while the former King simply watched stonefaced. "Assist us in this operation and offer us your men, and in return, we shall do what we can to keep the bloodshed to a minimum so that those that survive may return home to care for their families."

(The offer is on the table)

The Mayor looked out of his window for a long while. It was actually stretching the patience of the saiyan's thin, but fortunetly, he spoke.

"We're just a fishing village," was his first statement. "Not soldiers." He turned around from the window. "However, what little help we can be, we will. You make a very good arguement and we agree to wave your flag over this port."

A smile crept across the face of the tactician. "We are grateful. You are simply fisherman, correct? So allow us to bring your village some business while helping our men get some rest," he gestured out the window towards the tavern and the dancing. Reijin gave his General a nod and rose to his feet. "I shall inform the men. We can rest here for the evening, perhaps seeking medical attention for that guy that pulled a muscle in the march last evening, and help the morale of our troops before continuing on."

He turned and left the Mayor's office in Vejita's hands and exited the doorway, quickly striding back to the army over the top of the hill. Upon reaching them, he found the older man known as Gohan and pulled him to the side. "Inform the men that the town is ours. They may enter and drink tonight as compliments of the Dante Forces, and sleep in warm beds within the inn, as long as they find space, but they are to cause no harm to the village and are to leave our camp out here, so as to not intrude upon their land."

Gohan gave him a sharp nod and turned to inform the others as Reijin grabbed his bag to walk back to the village. "SAIBA!" he heard a yell and he winced, turning to see the turtle like creature wrapped around his leg. He shook his leg a moment, unable to remove the creature, and finally sighed and drudged his way to Port Karolin, every other step heavier than the first with a small whine accompanying it.

Being informed of his new found position as the leader of the fusion leader, he was quite excited. Well, excited wasn?t the right word. He was more prepared and ready to meet his co-captain for the time being. It wasn?t long he was going to be the leader of the unit, only while they were gone. This was his chance to prove himself though! Just maybe, he would get promoted above all the low-class soldiers that occupied his unit. Stepping from the alley he had been in, he looked around and quickly caught sight of the elder man that he would be helping. Setting off toward him, he dashed through the air in his ally?s position.

?Hey Gramps!? the boy yelled, stopping to a halt near the old man.

Pausing a moment, he couldn?t but help wonder how the old man had gotten into the army. He looked rather old, and not that strong. Never the less, much weaker units had been set in the Dante force. The boy?s eyes scanned up and down the man, looking at his gray fluffy mustache that matched the small puffball on his head. Chuckling he looked at the dark blue on his clothing, but quickly shifted his eyes to his own clothing.

?Johan is it? That?s all they told me, but hey! I?m Pigero, fourteen year old soldier of Dante,? the boy chimed in a cheery tone.

The rain trickled on to the boy?s scruffy obsidian locks. Shaking his head, to get rid of the water he chuckled at the man, waiting for a response. His eyes locked onto the old man?s, he eyed his gray eyebrows further noticing his old age.

?Just maybe, this war won?t be as bad as I thought.? the teenager thought to himself.

OOC_ Okay, NEXT ONES WILL BE GOOD! Filler for GG.

That custom sinister sneer out-stretched over the saiya-jin's auburn face. The wrinkles that represented his unyouthful age were shown disctinvely while his lips persistantly curled. Joy wasn't a sensation he had experienced during this competition, and this success was surely instilling growth to King Vejita's already inflated ego. King Vejita's arms were renounced of their position in a folded form and his hand fastened within the hand of his ally, Mayor Halon. The wickidness of this situation was visible, but apparently not through the eyes of Halon.

"Do not view as just to our benefit however; the Dante forces will respect your land as well as your people. You'll be well-protected, espcially tonight." This "decent" and "kindhearted" shell that seemed to have sprouted due to the desperations of seizing over this village was infuriating the saiya-jin king and he swiftly placed himself in the exterior of the structure to spectate the visuals of Port Karolin. His soldiers were scrambling, attempting to locate a pleasure of their downtime during this intense competition. Even though they hadn't undergone any severe effects of this hellacious world, the lingering thought of being butchered by the other groups were pollutting their thoughts.

King Vejita heaved to obtain a neccessary quantity of oxygen to process this information. This was a satisfying victory, but this success could surely be the beginning to self-destruction. That was possibly the annoyance of DA: Conquest; the uncertainy of their impending future. They were unaware of whether the hours ahead of them could be the equivalent to their concluding hours of their existence. The former king's thought process unfortunately was halted by an unknown stray soldier inching himself in such a cowardice manner. Obviously, he comprehended the authority which his commander held upon him and other soldiers. "Commander, we've done it. Aren't you...happy?" Commander Vejita hadn't announced the succession, but in the dorment regions of his mind the suggestion of Reijin presenting it to the army was realistic. He retorted with a simplistic, but direct nod to his comrade. "Inform Pigero and Grandfather Gohan that the armies of Team Fusion will be once again controlled by my hand. I have the feeling that the dawn of war is ahead of us. I sense it looming..."
