[D][O] Hyperton Fortress
#1
PCs: Akane, Broli, King Cold, Joy (NPC), Kerry (NPC), Groll (NPC)

"I didn't think you'd be coming in person, Sir," Joy said as she stepped out of the tent after being informed of Broli's arrival. She was obviously in the middle of getting dressed, but wasn't concerned about the Commander seeing it. "Here's my report..."

The two of them sat in the newly erected Commander?s tent, both at a desk. Joy sat with her legs crossed, head tilted to one side. She was a lady, nonetheless, her hair still wet from her morning shower. Artillery boomed every few minutes, though it ceased to shake neither the Commander nor the General. Joy watched in patience as Broli flipped through page after page of her report. ?I see you erected buildings on these positions,? he mentioned nonchalantly, flipping another page. Joy nodded without a word. Broli had given no forewarning of his arrival to Joy?s unit, impatient by her progress and determining to show and take the fortress personally. He reached the final pages of the report, and after reading its final words, he tossed it back onto the desk. ?Very good, General. I?m pleased with your progress. Shall we take a look at that Fortress??

?Yes sir,? she began, pulling out a blueprint of Hyperton. ?Here?s what we can make out its architecture to be so far. We?ve placed artillery to orchestrate attacks here,? her fingers traced three different locations, ?here, and here. They?ve been shelling the fortress for the past five days with much progress. The villagers and guards remain in their defensive outposts, attempting to avoid being caught in the open.?

?Hm?? Broli scratched his chin, looking over the blueprint. Motioning for Joy to follow, he stepped out of the tent, folding his arms as he looked at the fortress in the distance. Smoke billowed from numerous locations, no doubt caused by the constant shelling of artillery. The mighty fortress had been reduced to a mere hole for rabbits to hide in. ?We?re going to attack it,? the Saiya-Jin whispered.

Joy?s eyes widened at the comment. ?Excuse me, sir??

Broli nodded, becoming ever more confident with each passing moment. ?What do they have for defense? A fortress and guards, many of whom have no doubt been killed by your artillery. It?s time we made a move. Assemble the troops.? Broli stepped back into the tent to create a strategy as Joy began spouting orders for the troops to assemble. They had yet to seen action in quite some time, their bodies jumpy with the thought of finally getting a battle for the first time in a week. As the soldiers moved into formation, Broli stepped from the tent, fully dressed in battle armor.

?Sir? What are you doing?? Joy stammered, having expected the Commander to stay back with her.

?I?m leading the attack. When a leader is needed, you rise to the occasion, even on the battlefield. Are the men prepared?? Joy nodded. ?Good. Here?s what we?re going to do.? He rolled out the blueprints on a nearby table. ?We?ll come in from the east. I want you to continue to have the artillery to fire as quickly and efficiently as possible. As we approach, they?re to focus on the eastern wall where the defenses will be the heaviest. The guards will be trying to shoot us as we approach, so I want all of the artillery?s firepower on that wall to keep them suppressed.?

The Saiya-Jin?s fingers began tracing the unit?s movement. ?Then, when we reach this spot,? tapping his fingers on the map, ?I want the artillery to begin shooting past the wall directly into their base. When we get even closer, shoot on the western wall if you have to. I want them to think that the artillery barrage is its heaviest when we?re nearly there. Once we reach the walls and the ropes and ladders go up, cease the artillery attack immediately. By now, we?ll be right on their throats. When you see the Dante flag go up, begin movement into the fortress. Got it??

Joy nodded. ?Fully understand, sir.?

?Good. I?m leaving some troops here with you to protect the artillery. I want you to have two spotters up. One is to watch the western side of the battlefield, and another is to watch your rear. If they come from the rear, you?re to move in and assist the capture of the fortress manually. If we?ve been thrown back and we?re dead, then go to Memory. Now, if they come from the west, I want your artillery to move into position to shell the incoming unit. Does that make complete sense??

The General nodded again. The Saiya-Jin smiled, putting a hand on her shoulder. ?If we get through this, and the capture is a success, I want you to know that there are a couple of days off awaiting you. Don?t let me down now.?

?Yes sir!? Joy exclaimed, no doubt happy to hear the news after being spouted order after order for the first three weeks of the event. It was time that she revealed her true tactical genius.

Broli took a stand before his troops. ?Men!? he began. ?Some of you have fought with me before. You know my tactics. You know my beliefs that a fight can only be truly fought if everyone gives it their all. Some of you, on the other hand, have yet to even meet me. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Broli, Commander of the Dante Forces, Saiya-Jin loyal to the true King Vejita I. I come to you today with an offer. You?ve followed under Joy for the past three weeks, taking villages and the like, constructing buildings. This is your first real test of courage. Today, I offer you a chance to gain real victory, a chance to gain real glory! Will you be a part in the capture of the mightiest building of the Outcast?! Will you fight with every ounce of you to take this location?! And most importantly, will you prove yourselves to me, prove yourselves that you really do deserve the glory of Dante?!? The soldiers roared. They had been waiting the entire event for a moment like this, a moment to shine before all spectators.

The sun glowed red. Blood was going to be spilt on that day.

An Outcast guard stared out from the walls of Hyperton. ?Something?s happening,? he announced to his fellow guards, looking through binoculars at what appeared to be a large, armored man speaking to the Dante troops. ?It looks like? some kind of? pep talk?? The curious guard began to look over the rest of the camp, his binoculars resting on a large group of soldiers that appeared to be looking right back at him. An explosion came from one of them, the sound reaching the fortress immediately. ?Incoming! Take cover!? he yelled, pushing his body against the stone parapets of the wall as the artillery shelling began once again. It crashed in numerous locations, everyone moving out of the open. The guard sat there with his eyes tightly shut, hoping that a stray artillery strike wouldn?t hit him. The sky above them was nearly black, having been filled with the smoke of days on end of artillery attacks. The shelling was nothing they weren?t used to. They had lived through it for days. However, that did not take away from the danger of it. They knew that if they were ever to become comfortable with an artillery strike, that it meant certain death.

A sound reached the guard?s ears. ?Do you hear that?? he yelled to a nearby guard who also pressed himself against the wall. He shook his head. ?It?s artillery fire? What do you bloody well mean, ?do I hear that?!?? The guard listened intently. ?No? No! It?s something else!? He hated the idea of poking his head out in the middle of an artillery barrage. However, summoning what little courage he had left, he peeked over the stone wall. Yelping in surprise, a ladder slammed against the wall, nearly breaking against his face. He jumped to his feet, forgetting the artillery strike completely. ?DEFENSIVE MANUEVERS!!!? he roared, lifting his gun and immediately taking fire at a Dante soldier.

A few of the Dante soldiers had moved ahead, hastily putting up a ladder before the rest of the army could arrive. The rest were coming, however, nearly upon the fortress. It wasn?t a good situation for Outcast, who attempted to shoot the oncoming troops while avoiding getting blown apart by the artillery shelling.

?Snipers!? Broli roared as they marched onwards. ?Look for guards on the walls! The rest of you, full speed! Ram yourselves right down their throats!? He held up his fist, breaking into a run, the rest of his soldiers joining him. Within moments, they slammed into the wall, Broli immediately spouting orders for the ladders to be raised up. ?Get them up now! For Dante!? He personally helped a group of soldiers lift the ladder. ?Infantry and assault first!? The soldiers rushed up the ladder, attempting to get to the top as fast as possible. Broli watched in awe as a guard pushed a ladder away from the wall, causing the soldiers to shriek in fear as it plummeted to the earth. He spat to one side, gritting his teeth as he yelled out more encouragement for the soldiers. ?C?mon! Get to the top!?

Relief struck the Commander as the first group of soldiers reached the top, filtering onto the castle walls. ?Now!,? Broli shouted, motioning to the Spec-Op soldiers. The Spec Ops had been waiting in the rear, and with the sign of confirmation from Burori, they blasted into the sky. Using their limited ki-manipulation, they flew to the top of the wall, landing on the stone surface and immediately assisting the first wave of Dante infantry and assault. Holding superior skills to infantry, the Spec Ops fought to allow breathing room for another wave to arrive. ?Secure the wall!? came the voice of the Commander, who stood on the ground helping speed the process of soldiers climbing the ladders. ?Don?t stop! Keep moving!?

The soldiers moved eagerly. They finally had their chance to prove themselves, not only to Burori, but to everyone that they truly were soldiers of Dante. Broli looked past the soldiers to Joy?s unit. She was on the move, but to where, he didn?t know. Had one of her spotters seen something? The Saiya-Jin shrugged, fighting off the feeling that he needed to go and give her further orders. She was a tactical genius, and he shook off his quiet fears with the reassurance that she would do exactly as he had said, using her brilliance to achieve anything necessary to ensure total Dante victory. As she moved in, her artillery began firing once again, the ki blasts going over the Dante forces and landing somewhere past the fortress on its western side. Broli knew it could only mean one thing. ?We?ve got company,? he announced in realization. Now the need to get his soldiers up on the fortress was greater than ever. ?Move quicker, fellas! For Dante!?

They weren?t moving fast enough. This silent realization hit Burori the hardest, who had ceased action for a moment, his eyes hollow. He had absolutely no idea how many Outcast soldiers had arrived, but he did know that the need to get his soldiers on top of that wall was now greater than anything. Joy?s unit continued to move with utmost haste, a single messenger coming from her unit and rushing to the fray. ?What is she doing?? Broli yelled above all the fighting.

?Sir! Joy reports enemy movements coming in from the west. It?s a large Outcast force! She attempted to fire over the fortress, but it?s too large to have any impact. She?s moving around to the base?s western side to flank the rear of the Outcast unit attempting to enter the fortress!? Broli nodded, sending the messenger back with no reply. As he left, Akane arrived to take his place. ?What are your orders?? she asked, her newly given Lieutenant tags glimmering in the sun.

?We need to secure this position,? he began, looking up to the top of the wall. Though he could see nothing, he could tell that a fierce battle was occurring. ?According to Joy, we have Outcast reinforcements from the west. When I give the signal, it?s going to mean that the wall is secure. I want you to get any remaining troops up there as well as the snipers. The snipers are to stand on that wall and shoot anything on the western side of that fortress. Got it?!?

?Yes, sir! But, what?s the signal?? Broli smiled.

?You?ll know.?

Pushing a Dante soldier aside, Broli jumped onto the ladder and began to furiously climb it. Immediately, an ear-splitting series of roars emanated from his troops. ?It?s the Commander!? one shouted. ?He?s going to the top!? A series of ?For Dante!? erupted from the soldiers, reinvigorated by their Commander?s actions. Broli took each and every rung seriously, moving as quickly as he could towards the top. As he stepped from the last rung, he jumped onto the wall, joining his soldiers in conflict to secure the position. Immediately, his mouth dropped as he looked to the western side of the fortress. Troops were filtering in from the west, and it wasn?t a mere handful. Hundreds of soldiers had arrived to reinforce the fortress, already moving to assist the guards that were being overwhelmed. Broli shrugged off his surprise, attempting to use it for his favor. ?Look, men! More Outcast have come to die! Shall we show them what we?re made of?!? The soldiers roared, fighting vigorously at the sight of their Commander crushing one guard and then turning to kill another. ?I want the assault and support teams to set up a perimeter! Mow them down! Thin out their troops! We hold the high ground!? Burori shouted, pushing with his soldiers into the fray of units. It was a sight to see. The Assault and Support units fired nonstop, attempting to thin out the troops rushing to defend the wall, while the Infantry and Spec Ops worked in perfect coordination to overwhelm those that remained. Broli fought with them, roaring with each and every blow, shouting war cries of affirmation to his troops whilst more of his forces rose up from the ladders.

A guard rushed towards the Commander while Broli threw a guard over the wall. As the Saiya-Jin turned, he stopped in his tracks as the guard held the gun up, preparing to fire. With the explosion of the weapon, Broli took a step back in instinct. However, no shot pierced his body. He stood in surprise as one of his soldiers jumped in front of him, taking the bullet and falling to the ground, dead. Filled with anger, Broli lunged forward, grabbing the guard by the throat and tearing the gun from his hands. With irrefutable force, the Saiya-Jin crashed the guard?s head into the ground as easily as if he weighed like paper. The Saiyan looked back to the lifeless Dante soldier. The warrior had given his life to his Commander. What had this game become? Had he really invigorated his soldiers with so much pride that they were willing to die for not just him, but the entire cause of Dante?

?Fight!? he yelled to his soldiers. ?For every one of us that dies, our glory grows! Avenge the fallen! Push these soldiers backs! Are you of Dante?!!? The soldiers roared innumerable responses of positive confirmation, pushing themselves to the limit as they fought. ?If you?re of Dante, then prove it to me! Push these men back!? Broli furthered, landing his fist in the cheekbone of an Outcast infantry. ?We don?t stop until we?ve conquered this place, do you get me?!? The soldiers shouted again.

It had worked. Broli knew that the soldiers shared the same fear that he held. A thousand troops had arrived to assist the fortress, a number that could turn the tides of the battle regardless of the fact that they held the greater force. If this had struck anxiousness in Broli?s heart, no doubt it had done the same in the other troops. Regardless, he had turned the situation around, convincing the soldiers that this was nothing to fear. Rather, it was an even greater opportunity to prove themselves, to show everyone that Dante was the greater force, that Dante deserved all the glory, that Dante would win Dante?s Abyss: Conquest.

Akane?s golden eyes glinted as she watched the endless stream of soldiers climb the ladders, her ears full of the symphony of destruction. Bodies were ripped asunder from the volley of gunfire and artillery, blood curdling screams filling her ears as she sought to cover them, her eyes fogging as the angelic figure sunk to her knees. The noise continued to echo throughout her skull, despite the efforts of the young temptress to drain them from her head.

I can't escape this hell

Opening her eyes wide the girl witnessed the figure of a Dante soldier ripped apart by a Ki rifle, his body literally exploding from the multiple shots. As he hit the ground, hard, Akane stood on to her feet, her honeydew eyes eying the ladder with hesitation. She was supposed to stay here; and yet..

So many times I?ve tried

A large hand rested on the shoulder of Akane, the familiar looking face of Boyach smiling at her. It felt like ages since the girl had last seen the soldier, ages past. He seemed unreal; as if he was a specter out of her dreams. His voice seemed distant, forlorn, and yet so very close. ?We is here Akane. Pay our debts to you we must, yes yes. ?

Somebody get me through this nightmare

The golden figure stared back at him, and at the growing crowd of people that had stopped around her; every last one staring at their superior officer. She was supposed to stay here; her sole duty, to stay here. And yet, she couldn?t, or perhaps, wouldn?t. 50 Soldiers had flocked to her, fifty souls who looked at her to command them in battle, to lead them in the tides. She wouldn?t fail. She couldn?t fail. The youth spoke to her crowd, her tone light, yet indescribably dark.

So what if you can see the darkest side of me?

?I?m not a girl of heavy handed words. I can?t give the speeches that our commanders try to give with much success. I?m not a rallying force; and yet, you rally to me in your fear; in your turmoil. I won?t turn any of you down, because well, I see a little bit of me inside all of you. I know you all fear, but you must cast away such heavy appendages and fight without worry or sorrow. We must avenge those who have fallen. You all know of Minosha, of Bulma, of all the soldiers who have lost their lives.? Pointing at the fortress a tear slipped out of Akane?s eyes as her emotional bubble broke; the lie that was her facial expression shed finally to the soldiers. Shaking her head the tear blew away in the wind, wiping away any tears that flowed from her eyes evermore.

No one will ever change this animal I have become

T-They have taken much from us. To much. They have destroyed the lives of many a soldier, resulting in the crude manifestation that is here before us now. The blood of our people, of our brothers and sister, are on their hands! They mock us by even thinking, by even hoping, that their crude walls, that their stone defenses, can stop our hearts.? Putting her hand on her right breast Akane continued, her voice cracking from her emotions at first. ?Their soldiers are strong, but they do not have the hearts that we have. They do not have the soul, the spirit, of Dante. They cannot stop us, for we are no longer mortal as they are. The avatar of vengeance are we, and so will we make them pay there debts.? Pointing at the ladders in front of her, the golden youth spoke in finality. ?We climb.?

Help me believe it's not the real me

Walking forward Akane gripped the surface of one of the ladders in her hand, climbing it with the intensity of youth. Surging forward the fifty soldiers followed, quickly covering the distance behind her. None fell, none could fall. Shots flew around them, and yet, all missed their mark. It was as if the very souls of the fallen of Dante had come for vengeance. They would pay.

But there's still rage inside

And Akane would make sure of it..

Reaching the topmost wall that the ladder would reach the figure of Akane climbed off of her vassal, her feet placing themselves sturdily on the stone flooring. Gritting her teeth the lieutenant turned around to help a soldier off of the ladder where she had just came, helping him place foothold on the ground for himself. Despite herself and the situation that she was in the angel found herself incapable of not smiling, watching with egotistical glee as the men flocked their way up the ladders. It was only when one of the soldiers climbing the ladder was shot in the head by a rifle that the youth snapped back into reality. Dashing towards the edge the golden being reached out, catching the limp body of the soldier before he fell to the gory battlefield below; a lifeless doll added to the fodders.

Boyach?

Setting him down on the stone floor Akane looked at his wound, before sinking down on to his chest. Touching the bloody hole that had once been the blue man?s cranium the girl slumped down on to him, sobbing into his chest. Shaking the fallen soldier lightly the despairing human could hear the distinct *clink* of a weapon, and the swearing of a human soldier. Looking up with teary eyes she saw the sniper that had shot her friend, a slide grin on his face.

Whispers of her fallen friend in her head

?Don?t hurts us, please? We didn?t means to offend! We didn?t means to offend!?

Visions of the toad man smiling stupidly at her, lost in his love.

?We serves you forever..?

Akane rose to her feet slowly, tears swimming down her cheeks. Sobbing quietly the soldiers around her stared, at a loss for words. The girl breathed in and out rapidly, in sharp breaths that echoed in the minds of all around her. Struggling to breath the figure began to tear at her clothing, ripping it to shreds as she began to walk forward slowly at the man who had killed her friend, her companion. From Syntech to Dante. The whole world would hear her cry.

Crying out into the heavens in a cry of agony the teenager began to convulse, her muscles twitching as she walked forward. Gritting her teeth in pure frustration Akane?s aura began to whip around her, the very force of it almost knocking off the soldiers that had followed her; that is, before they caught themselves. Stopping suddenly the figure of a young girl faded into nothing, as if the very wind was sweeping away a mist like figure of Akane. Wear once had stood a angry teenager now stood a deadly calm adult, her golden hair blowing in her aura. A smirk crossed the expressionless face of the fighter, followed by a brief phrase. ?For Boyach, a true Dante Soldier.?

Placing her right hand out in front of her she drew energy into herself, quickly forming a sphere of gold energy. Releasing the energy beam at the soldier he crossed his arms, quickly enveloped in the blast. Leaving nothing but a few sinders behind. Turning to her soldiers, now totaling 49, the woman spoke calmly.

?We are going to slaughter them all. Every last one of them! Their blood shall be what we drink tonight, and their skulls our cups!? The soldiers gazed at her in fear, taken aback by the sudden bloodlust that had overtaken the always eager, always happy, Akane. She was different, and not just in physical appearance; the very effect of intimidated the loyal soldiers. Not waiting for any sign of obedience the woman jumped off of the wall, directly into the courtyard of the fortress. Fighting her way to and froe. Wasting no time the soldiers followed, firing their weapons to support her even as some actual soldiers directed themselves into the battle, fighting hand to hand.

Akane showed no mercy. There was no call for mercy, death would be the only deliverance on this day.

The fortress door has been blown apart.

Gargantum (NPC) and his group protects the entrance. If you want through that door, you'll have to get through him.

Broli's group has infiltrated the upper wall, however the battle still rages on top. Dante has not penetrated all the way inside yet

Kid Buu, Seventeen and 185 snipers have arrived from behind. The Dante has been abandoned, Joy is leading an evacuation of those who stayed behind. They have engaged the invading Dante Forces from behind.

220 Troops (Artillary and Spec Ops) have arrived from the south. Explosions have begun raining against Dante, however at a slower pace then the Dante Artillary due to a risk of hurting the Fortress. Spec Ops have begun attacking head on.

This has given a slight edge to Outcasts, but Dante continues to control the pace of the invasion on top and at the entrance

The Prince of Darkness was slain, but his death left one painstaking question on the android?s mind: At what cost? Seventeen mulled over the confrontation as he lead his soldiers across the seemingly unending expanse of dried earth. In a moment of weakness, he had all but given up the fight, but then something had happened within him to spur him to victory.

Even after his physical body had faltered and collapsed, the onyx-haired warrior had found the strength to endure within the depths of his intricate central processing unit. Minoshia?s onslaught had liberated Seventeen from the confines of his mind and organic side, and then the Dark Prince triggered something else that had long been trapped within the twisted, confused psyche of the android to be unleashed.

The konat?s vicious attack against Kid Buu had been the catalyst that Seventeen needed to complete the fusion of cyborg and man. The amalgamation of rage, hate, and bloodlust had supplied all the ingredients that the machine-hybrid needed to shatter the shackles binding him. Like an overpowering wave, the energy had surged through his veins?the sensation coinciding with an almost limitless feeling of euphoria. A crimson tint had befallen the android?s sight, and then the world became a crazed blur.

The next thing that Seventeen knew was that Minoshia was a corpse huddled on the ground before him. A laceration had claimed the life of the Dark Prince, and the source of the gash was scintillating between the android?s clammy, shaking fingers. The machine-hybrid knew he should have felt something following the triumph, but all he could feel was emptiness swelling within him.

Was he not supposed to feel some type of satisfaction? Was he not supposed to feel righteous and prideful that he had slain not only an enemy officer but also a murderer? Despite all of his contemplations about supposed feelings, Seventeen felt nothing but cold and injured. With the adrenaline gone and the man back in control, the reality and harshness of the fight had surfaced with a vengeance. The medics had mended his physical wounds, but the lacerations upon his mind would sting for an eternity to come.

?What have I done?? Seventeen lamented as the faintest traces of tears began to escape from the corners of his heavy, charcoal eyes. The android turned his eyes to the gray clouds that loomed above him and frowned. His mind was in shambles?something about his victory over Minoshia was not settling well with the android?s organic side.

?What?s the matter, sweetheart?? Paige asked, sliding one of her hands over his waist and motioning him to lean on her. The cybernetic warrior only complied because he was too battered to dare shun his love?s efforts to console him. In his condition, he knew the jade-skinned woman could have easily plucked him off the ground and carried him like a child if she felt compelled.

?Have I become Minoshia?? Seventeen whispered, leaning his head upon the woman?s slender shoulder as they trudged ahead in tandem.

?Why would you think such a dreadful thing?? Paige replied, tilting her head slightly as she attempted to glance at the man?s face. Unfortunately for the former whitelighter, Seventeen?s face was concealed within a tangled web of his ebony locks.

?When I killed him,? the android began, his voice interrupted occasionally by what seemed to be light sobs. ?I felt such anger and wraths swelling within me. I killed Minoshia the same way he murdered so many innocents before?in a fit of hate and ire. By killing him, I fear that I may have inadvertently become the monster I sought to destroy,? Seventeen sighed, his body aching as he trudged across the ground.

?Don?t speak such foolishness,? Paige cooed, brushing aside the android?s matted hair and kissing him on his bloodied cheek. ?You just need to take a breather, Seventeen. You have just capitalized over a force of great evil, and your mind is still weary and susceptible.?

?What?s that?? Seventeen remarked, lifting his head and staring into the distance. ?Another attack!? The machine-hybrid bellowed, gently moving away from the woman and trying to get a look at the structure situated amid the horizon.

?Hyperton Fortress, Commander,? Wart said, liberating himself from the mass of soldiers and dashing up to his superior officer. ?We will have to move quickly in order to reinforce the structure. Our scouts and snipers believe from the smoke and so forth that the walls and building itself may have already been breached by the Dante Forces,? Seventeen nodded, turning to face the youthful lieutenant.

?I want you to stay behind momentarily and wait for any stragglers from our other column. After everyone is present and accounted for, I want you to follow me. Do you understand?? The onyx-haired commander stated, his fatigued eyes flaring to life at the advent of a battle.

?Yes, Commander!? Wart decreed, saluting once before dashing off to fulfill his instructions. Once his lieutenant was well on his way, Seventeen turned to his men and cleared his throat. It was going to hurt like a bitch, but the android knew he had to speak clearly and loudly.

?War has befallen our allies to the north, men. Hyperton Fortress has fallen under attack, and it is only a matter of time before General Super Buu succumbs to the superior numbers. Unfortunately for those fools clothed in blue, they waited too long to attack while we were dealing with their distraction. The time has come for all of you to truly seek your teeth into battle so are you all ready!?

The response was a thunderous, adrenaline-infused chorus of screams and war cries. Even as fresh pain sent new aches and pains up his body, Seventeen accumulated the gall and fervor to thrust the Power Sword into the air. With a wide smile, the Commander of the Outcasts led the march toward Hyperton.

Akane heard the sound of heavy fists breaking bone; a sound that penetrated her ears despite the battle that was raging around her. Turning around she saw the hulking body of a troll smacking Dante soldiers around, the effect of which broke them as if they were twigs. Standing in the doorway it was apparent that the dull witted creature would not allow any of her allies to commence the invasion, and that none of them would ever be able to defeat the warrior. Bodies crashed against stone, vital organs damage. Warriors fell around him as if he were a golem made of iron.

Dashing along the stone flooring the woman quickly gained ground, the troll unable to hear her from the wild battle that was going on around him. Leaping high into the air she gripped him in a near bear hug around his neck, attempting to choke the brute. However, despite her efforts the troll simply let out a chuckle, sending her hurling into the air with one of his massive arms. Flying through the air Akane twisted, trying to obtain a pinnacle of balance and maintain control of the situation, despite the circumstances. Feet planting on the wall as she was about to hit it the fight crunched her body up to absorb the impact, quickly launching herself off of the wall, back at the brute.

Catching him off guard she struck him directly in the chest with head butt, which unfortunately caused more damage to her then her giant oppressor. Hitting the ground quickly the woman launched herself back up at him, kneeing him in the chin. Despite the damage that occurred to him the troll caught her leg while she was in mid jump, spinning her over his head like a golden rag doll. Feeling the effect of the spinning in the form of intense dizziness Akane slowly, but surely, managed to bring one of her palms towards her body, gathering Ki in her palms.

Pressing her arm out from her body the girl launched a Ki blast directly into the face of the brute, resulting in her freedom in the form of being let go. This was not as good as it sounded however, as she was being hurled through the air like she was a missile.

Using this to her advantage the angelic human placed her arms over her head for protection, spinning herself like she was a torpedo. Drawing her Ki around her like a rocket would gather its fuel for one last quick burst of energy, the female figure propelled herself rapidly at a crowd of Outcast soldiers, plowing through them like they were bowling pins. Standing up after the incident she brushed herself off, staring down the troll. While it had been a weak blast, it had burned his face greatly. His eyes were no longer of use, the result of which was a mindless rampage on all that was around him, Dante or Outcasts.

Akane had to bid her time for the next strike?

?You're with me, here,? and a rifle was shoved into his embrace, fresh from the cold grip of a soldier?one who?d given his fall to Dante?s cause long before he touched the grounds of the fortress that they hailed. ?Lets go!?

There was no virtuous leap in his bound, his fingers groping round the edges of this stronghold with as much hoist as when he began his rise to lead Dante?s forefront to provide the first groove of a foothold for their cause. Instead there was a cold clamor and he was left to review the organize mob that spread their roots throughout the structure and the surrounding lands. They were the forefathers themselves, coming back to protect what eradication they?d left behind to be reclaimed by the unrelentless proceed that the was the law and order of Dante. As though there was some sort of moral obligatory cause?aside from the banner that he himself had hoisted and followed?he nodded to affirm himself and took sight at the approaching sea of faces.

Shots came randomly into the mob, penetrating with complete disregard for marksmanship or mark. It was more to give the medics an overwhelming number to tend to, and with the wave of marchers it was kinda retarded to miss. Disgruntled bursts of fire from the surrounding allies had muffled the call of one of his brothers in arms, though Colder?s attentiveness was seized regardless.

?Cold, we?re moving in. We?ve got to start a downward sweep of the fort, and keep them contained them below.? With a hesitant grunt he added, ?Grab any spare guns you can find up here and be prepared to fall below the surface.?

?For Daantaay!? lord Colder loved the cry of a supreme body, impeccably placed between himself and a hard place. It served its many purposes, and rallying a small band of troops was just one of them. It did its piece, in place of an eloquent speech, on the just outskirts of war within a battle.

Slinking through the threshold and past the occupying forces, the chill of a wintry night was exchanged for the sultry warmth. There was no word from the lieutenant, the boy who'd taken from among their numbers and retreated into the backdrop on night. Or was it one afternoon? His memory had failed him there, though muzzle flashes had found him within the lower levels of Hyperton grew familiar and fond in his eyes. Then the dull reflection of light against stainless steel came into his eyes, forcing the changeling?s hands upward using the guide of recoil without its consent and putting ki?infused rounds through his enemy.

?Outcasts!? his scream was a message back that all was not well before them, with him scuttling beneath the unwatchful cover granted by the walls. This was to work, for Cold had left his trust with their commanders words and had taken their words with a pronounced abandoning of the margins for error.

Such an error had announced its presence, leaving the distraught changeling emperor trapped beneath the presence of shells. His breath escaped in harsh whispers, his heart pumping to allow oxygen where it was needed most and his trigger finger itched whenever he flailed his rifle about from behind his cover.

?Covering fire!? If you didn't scream, nor shout?in war?you were unheard. What's not to say it wasn't so out of war, or that every breathing moment was a moment of war? But then if every breathing moment was one of warfare, conscious or not, then there would be nothing of peace of mind or tranquility. There would only be the calm before the storm.. Then the drumroll of thunder would come once more.

With a dashing leap Cold relieved himself of his predicament, his enemies forced onto the defensive by Dante for the moment. Just for the moment.

?This seems a liable way in. I?m not one to turn away offerings, out of the frustrations that they don?t lead directly to the spoils.? Cold mused with gunfire in his ears and the rumbling of Fort Hyperton beneath his feet.

OOC: This RP starts at the beginning of the battle. Damn you post whores! =P

IC:
Hyperton Fortress. It had been the pride and joy of the Outcasts, standing tall as the outcome of all their hard work. A symbol of their unity and dedication.

But when Super Buu gazed up at the building, what he saw wasn?t Hyperton Fortress. This ? thing was but a pocked ruin of its former self, a hiding hole for a failing army.

?How did this happen?? blurted the monster, mouth agape. ?In just a few days ? why didn?t they tell us?? His shock gave way to anger. ?What happened to the fucking messengers?!?

?Apparently they were too scared to leave,? Kakarot frowned, from next to his General. ?Looks like they?ve been taking heavy fire for the past few days.?

?Damn ?? Buu let a guttural snarl escape his throat. ?There?s nothing for it. It looks like Dante are readying to attack ? we have to get in there now!? He turned and roared to the units. ?Alright men, you heard me! Let?s move!?

A chorus of ?yes sir?s echoed back, but Super Buu wasn?t even waiting for their response; he was already running. His boots hit the mud in rapid succession, coating his normally spotless pants in a thick layer of mud, but the monster didn?t give a shit. He had one priority right now, and that was getting to the fortress before Dante did. His dirty laundry could wait until the thousand-or-so troops invading their homeland had fucked off. Evidently, the rest of the unit had realised this, as they too were charging towards the fortress as if their lives depended on it.

Yeah. As if.

Even before he had reached his target, Buu knew they were too late. Dante troops were swarming up the sides of the building like ants on shoots of grass, leaping over the battlements to engage Hyperton?s meager guard.

Instincts took over as Buu turned and bellowed; ?Infantry! Support! Form a perimeter around the base of the fortress and don?t let anyone get past! Everyone else, into the west entrance and push back the intruders!?

The orders were followed without a second thought. Seeing the tide of yellow surging to their aid, the guards quickly responded; rushing to open the gates. With a grating of chains, the drawbridge fell open, and in spilled the Outcasts, ready to defend their territory.

The golem could have killed for a glass of water, but unfortunately kill as he might, the only drink he?d be getting for a while was blood. Rubbing his throat, he wheeled around to his waiting unit. ?Alright! You guys are with me. For now I want you to take up defensive positions, but if you see any viable targets, go for the kill. Don?t take risks! Play it safe until I get back. Until then, hit and run. Got it??

The medley of aliens, tripeds and other assorted creatures nodded (where possible), and fell back to join the other troops. With a grunt of satisfaction, Buu turned to the enemy.

?Now ?? he sighed, a weary grin making its way onto his face. ?I think it?s about time I got to fight for real.?

And with that, he was off. Spying his infantry troops holding off a bastion of Dante forces, the majin sprang into the fray. It wasn?t long before fists were flying in all directions like some galactic bar fight. Some literally, spinning through the air like pinwheels and leaving trails of blood in their wake.

These horrific displays of gore didn?t perturb Buu, however ? on the contrary. He was in the thick of it, offering up his own violent resolutions to the conflict. He didn?t even notice the approaching units, so focused was he on his targets. Take one down, move onto the next. The pattern repeated itself in Buu?s mind, each cycle reinforcing his battle lust. With each punch, his confidence was renewed, the strange familiarity of the motions invigorating and empowering him.

?Come on, you Dante bastards!? cackled Super, his voice sounding inhumane ? almost fittingly so ? in the ears of the enemy. A number of them moved in to attack, throwing forward their best efforts, but the Outcast General seemed all but invincible. He span and weaved between the falling bodies, darting out to deliver crushing blows before ducking under the next would-be hero.

As more and more enemies piled in to take their shot, however, Buu began to realise the sheer depth of the shit he was in. His flaunting displays of aggression had attracted a fair-sized crowd. Now he was surrounded, trapped like a wild animal in a ring of hunters. Outcast troops fought to gain entry to the circle, but they were beaten back and overpowered by sheer numbers.

Now, confidence bolstered by the size of their forces, the group of Dante made their move. Leaping forward one by one, they piled atop the Outcast General, crushing him beneath their bulk. Buu struggled, but to no avail ? his limbs were pinned down by the sheer weight of his enemies.

And so he stopped.

What was he doing? As the adrenaline began to subside, the idiocy of his own actions began to dawn on the monster. A few weeks of abstinence from fighting, and his own lust for blood had overcome him. He?d abandoned his responsibilities, his own duty, to indulge in the one thing he already had more than enough of ? battle.

What was it Lord Vine had said? Those who fight for others have something much more than those who do it for themselves. Buu had seen first-hand the validity of those words ? and yet, at the first temptation, he?d discarded them. He?d acted on his own impulses, ignoring the wishes of those around him. Maybe he didn?t care about himself, but what about Seventeen? Kakarot? Shit, even Kibbles.

They?d all protected him at some point or another. They had put themselves on the line for Super?s own life; the same one he so carelessly tossed around.

It was time to repay them.

Neck arching back, the golem unleashed an ear-piercing howl. From beneath his skin burst a layer of ki, spreading out to form an orb around him. As the energy intensified, his translucent outline began to submerge beneath a shimmering lake of colors. The Dante soldiers, who had previously held on for dear life, began to scramble ? tumbling away from this demon, this monster.

And that was when the bubble popped.

An explosion of energy send the soldiers careening in all directions, blown backwards by the sheer force of the technique. In the middle of them stood a new face, grounded on a familiar body. It was Buu, but different.

Changed.

Better.

From beneath the pores of the newly-ascended being descended a spiral of metal. With a flick of his wrist, it hardened into a new shape; that of a sword. Long, curved, but most importantly, with a huge fucking pole attached to the handle.

?Now,? murmured Buu, twirling the weapon between his fingers. ?Who wants to go first??

Broli looked into the distance, noticing the shadowy figures on the horizon. On the ground below, Joy scrambled to avoid being flanked, moving her unit away from the arrival of Outcast reinforcements. With each passing moment, they fought to secure the upper wall, attempting to create a perimeter to push back the Outcast defense. ?You?ve forced my hand,? the Commander whispered, noting the reinforcements. ?Snipers, now!? The snipers immediately began crawling their way to the top of the upper wall. As they arrived, they took defensive positions against the stone, peeking out to the reinforcements that had arrived from the south. ?I want every shot on anything that moves towards us, do you get me?!? The snipers nodded, already glancing into their scopes. ?Nothing breaks our southern line!?

An explosion rocked the foundations of the eastern side, nearly knocking the Saiya-Jin to his knees as he reclaimed his balance. He looked over the wall to see shreds of wood and metal spread across the ground. The gate had been blown wide open. He motioned to the Dante soldiers still attempting to climb the ladders. ?Push through the gate as well! Those of you waiting to climb the ladders, swarm up and use the new opening to your advantage!? The soldiers followed their master?s beckoning with all effort, immediately regrouping to push into the fortress through the opened gate.

Broli returned to the fray, casting a soldier over his shoulder as he noticed his lieutenant climbing to the top of the wall. Akane had arrived on the scene, and as he moved to speak with her, he halted in his steps, turning to strike down an oncoming attacker. Standing over yet another lifeless body, he turned back to his Lieutenant, only to watch her jump from the wall down to the fortress floor. They needed to continue to move quickly and efficiently. They needed to make progress. ?I thought you guys were Dante soldiers?!? The soldiers pushed themselves to their very limits, Broli taking a step to the edge of the wall and glancing down to the destroyed gate just in time to view Akane striking a large, blue troll. ?Akane! Stop playing with him and get rid of that gate unit!? The Saiya-Jin commanded, his Lieutenant looking up and nodding in affirmation.

Broli looked to the sun. The day was passing on. All he needed now was a little help.

OOC: Not a very good one.

General Gargantum has fallen. Dante has breached the entrance of the Fortress.

Liutenant Kerry has engaged the marching unit of Android 17 on the field.

Vejita I has entered the battle, and his unit has come in from north, and begins a charge into the fight. All Dante PCs except Pigero are now there

General Joy has made Dante's camp far to the north of the fortress.

Words were unspoken, unexchanged by the fastened lips of soldiers. This situation was incapable of being described by sheer words anymore. This war had manifested beyond proportions and had been altered from the carefree mood that had been set previously. No more would the following days of Dante be as unchallenging to the Vejita and Broli's forces. Syntech had set upon them a mentality of superiority that had been diminished at this very moment. Outcasts were symbolized the blockade to the sight of victory that they so desperately sought with their fingers inching for its possession. Vejita I's speeches could not affect these men here today, not even one deriving from pits of his soul could penetrate the pride that was flourishing through them. Dante had secured their place among the greatest in this competition, and no one could decieve them otherwise.

The miniature form of the saiya-jin warrior could only creep himself through the mayhem with bodies riddled among the plains of the Outcast's territory. That familiarizing stench and sight wasn't enlightening to him at all, but merely the identication of his brothers and sisters being situated in demeaning positions with the life stripped from their soulless bodies. Their deaths described in each one of them; such as men slouched upon the floor of the planetoid with limbs dettached of from utilization with their eyes lacking of any sensation whatsoever. Only the clear tent of their eyes could be portrayed upon the commander of Dante with smoldering emotions dwelling in his heart. That tornado of corruption, that had clenched his flesh and wielded him as if he were a puppet of a satanic figure, was once again surfacing from his interior.

His skin tone was swept with a crimson tone and his eyes were portuding with a redness that was intimidating to all who dared glance at the political figure. The commander was almost attempting to latch onto this portion of himself to blur the definition of mercy to his memory. The only fate that these creatures were deserving of was the most incomprehensible form of death; a death that would expell all of challenging the might of Dante, even the notion. With his arms lacking of motion over one another with his aimless strolling, his thoughts were constructing this beast to unleash. The once positive thoughts of King Vejita had been abolished and had been empowered with only those of sinister depths. The creature that would obtain the power of super saiya-jin for him had been unlocked and his muscles twitched furiously from his arrival. His arms relinquished themselves from their form and tightened themselves into a stance of preparation for the undeniable battle ahead of him.

"Fight and make the name Dante escape from their lips." His voice was unraveled of that tone he had once wielded and was now a combination of so much authority and hatred. That sentence was discrete, but its emotions had enstilled a sufficient amount of information upon the soldiers of Team Fusion. They pierced through the vicinity and only the visuals of the Outcast's bodies being mangled were present. Victory would be swept under by Vejita and Broli if hell itself was required; desperation was quite a factor in war, obviously. King Vejita roared with desire, desire only to maintain their overwhelming status in this competition. With his boots planting rather firmly into the soil, he marched with only pride into the depths of the fortress. Hyperton Fortress was an appealing view, but he was only interested in acquiring a challenge from a high-ranking soldier.

The saiya-jin's pace was hastened with his arms swinging at an equal velocity while he scurried through the openings of the random splotches of clashing soldiers surrounding him. A specific creature was bestowed to his sights; one that was fullfilling of the beast thirsty of blood and for dominance. The Outcast soldier's locks were an immediate hint with the darkening tent being the most evident to him. This officer was of saiya-jin heritage, and his face was triggering a past that extended numerous years from this day. Vejita's movements were thwarted instantaneously and his demonic eyes were compelled into a trance by this saiya-jin warrior. He had been invited to accompany this beings sons on Vejita-Sei prior to DA:C, and faces of his past swept through his brain. Kakkorat. During his adventures in the world of North Kaiousama, he had acquired the technique to use kaiou-ken, along with two others.

Kakkorat had also been taught of this interesting technique and most significantly, during an age of which the saiya-jin king had been engaged with the depression he had recently been liberated of. His appalling expression gradually transformed into one of a sneer that stretched over his face with defining wrinkles. "So, we've met again, Kakkorat. My face is a rememberance to you, is it not? The days of training upon North Kaiousamas were one of my most defining moments..." He paused momentarily, shifting his sights to the planetoid. "...and the lack of my power was shown through you and others alone. Well, the years change, but my longing does not. The longing to prove just who I am - feel the wrath of the true king, Kakkorat."

OOC: Hope you haven't changed your character at all since back then, Kak. But yeah, we trained together for kaiou-ken when you were Son Goku. If you've restarted your character completely, well, of course KV looks like a blabbering idiot to you. =O

Explosions, gunshots, and the screams of the bloodthirsty permeated the room in which Seventeen was lying. The Commander of the Outcasts let out a heavy sigh as he stared at the stone ceiling and reflected upon his predicament. It was quite obvious that the Dante Forces had already penetrated Hyperton Fortress prior to his arrival, but from his observations, it seemed they were still combating near their initial points of entry.

?I have to fight,? Seventeen groaned as he fought to sit up off the bed. He managed to elevate his torso a few inches before a cadre of medics dashed over and implored him to cease exerting his strength.

?You?re still injured, Commander,? one of them spoke?removing his visor to reveal the visage of a young woman wrought with an abundance of sympathy. ?You need to rest up for the oncoming battle, or you?ll be nothing more than a dilapidated mess,? Seventeen frowned, his mind screaming in frustration as his body continued to falter him. The android let out a sigh as he tried to clear his thoughts.

The machine-hybrid knew it was only a matter of time before the Dante Forces managed to trump the guards and take control of the entrance to Hyperton. All the while, a slew of soldiers would be losing their lives in the ensuing carnage as the enemy thrust their forces deeper and deeper in the fortress?s depths. Seventeen grunted as he pushed aside the medic still hovering over him.

?I can walk,? the android stated, shunning the assistance of the medical squad. ?I order you all to report back to the front lines and aide those who are injured. I am perfectly capable of carrying me own despite these grievances, and I am incapable of sitting on some bed doing absolutely nothing while my boys are out there dying. Now go!? Seventeen screamed, pointing toward the door and glaring at the group of intimidated medics.

Once he was alone in the chamber, the machine-hybrid trudged over to a nearby table and shifted through a stack of garments until he came across a duplication of his standard outfit. Poking at the bandages wrapped around his chest and abdomen, Seventeen frowned in distaste. He didn?t care that he was in pain?there was nothing that was going to stop him from fighting the invaders.

With a grunt, the onyx-haired commander slid on the two t-shirts and began to rifle through a nearby box for his effects. Smiling faintly, Seventeen produced a pile of his belongings and dumped them onto the ivory sheets of his bed. Even as he grimaced slightly from pain, the android managed to slip on all of his accessories in record time. With a final, anticlimactic motion, Seventeen unsheathed the Power Sword and lurched over to the door.

?Outcasts forever,? the cyborg grumbled, wincing slightly as he made his way down the hallway. After a minute or so of walking, the machine-hybrid emerged out onto one of the upper battlements?much to the dismay of the group of Dante soldiers fresh off their successful infiltration of the fortress. Spotting the limping android, the cluster of troops formed into two short lines and drew their weapons.

?Surrender or die!? One of the courageous soldiers bellowed, thrusting his rifle in the direction of the cyborg as his finger nervously twitched around the trigger. Seventeen flashed the group of men a faint smile before he vanished in a swirl of blue and white light particles. The Dante soldiers let out a gasp as a few of them fired off a few rounds at the empty space the android had once inhabited.

?Surprise,? Seventeen muttered, reappearing behind the group of soldiers. With a swift motion, the commander drove the Power Sword?s blade up through the thorax of the closest soldier. Flexing his other hand, he crafted a ki saber and decapitated another combatant with the utmost elegance. Wrenching his weapons free from the innards of the fallen warriors, Seventeen reeled back and decommissioned another pair of soldiers as they scurried to react.

Discarding his ki saber, the android threw his unoccupied hand forward and dowsed the four remaining soldiers in a lethal deluge of energy. The screams of the dying were silenced as the roar of ki reached its apex, and once Seventeen could no longer detect functioning life before him, he lowered his hand. As the blast faded to nothingness, the android took a brief moment to ensure that his foes were vanquished.

?I?m sorry,? he muttered, his heart sinking at the sight of the charred remains of the valiant soldiers. Seventeen frowned as he sheathed the Power Sword and turned a blind eye to what little remained of the corpses. Even though they were merely following orders from their vain superiors, the machine-hybrid would not let their deaths impede him from protected those whose care was entrusted to him.

Seventeen was a leader to the very end, and he would be hard-pressed if he was going to sit back. After all, having the odds against him was something the Commander of the Outcasts was getting accustomed to. His pain momentarily numbed by the thrill of battle, the cybernetic warrior turned his attention to a nearby door and vanished back into the depths of the fortress.

Even if it was the last thing that Seventeen did, the Dante Forces were going to be in for one hell of a ride.

Chance whirled.

The majin struck out at the offending Dante soldier in front of him, sending the last blue-suited alien spiraling through the air and into the ragged wall beyond. The shed collapsed under the impact, wood rattling down around the suddenly limp figure in a flurry of splinters and hay. Buu smirked and turned his blood-red eyes to find the next pest.

The forces of Dante were persistent. The majin had to give them that, if nothing else.

Mere minutes ago one of the enemy squads had broken past the Outcast's carefully erected door as if it were nothing but dry cardboard. Now the streets of the small walled-off town were riddled with the remains of spent shells and bodies, the air filled with the staccato bursts of discharging rifles. He stood in the middle of it all, at the crossway between two roads, fresh corpses littered about his diminutive form. He smiled. It was if he was in his element. His injured arm gave a throb within its sling, and the child flinched.

As if his pain had been a signal, a wave of hot lead sprayed out from the cover of an alley down the cross-street, rounds ripping up the air in a frenzy; a pack of wild dogs in metal form. Faster than bolts of lightning, Buu's remaining three arms blurred through the air in a chaotic whirl, slapping the rounds away disdainfully until the last echo of gunfire died out into nothing but the distant shouts of panicked men as they tried desperately to form up.

A rattling of metal.

Pink electricity crackles off of every surface of the prototype Buu as he thrust one of his free hands downward with a grin, the limb elongating horribly as it punctured through the ground and tunneled in the direction of the fevered fingers that were working so furiously to reload a spent clip.

The Dante soldier likely never realized what was coming until it was too late. As the trembling boy slapped the magazine into the bottom of his assault rifle, as he tilted it to check that the magazine was clear, the monster's hand ripped out from the soil beneath his booted feet in a shower of broken rock and a boom that echoed louder than thunder. Fingers curled into a steel-hard fist rushed up towards his torso, electricity and raw power, enough to level a building, pouring through every pore. The soldier opened his mouth to scream. He never got the chance.

Buu waited for a few long, horrible seconds before retracting his arm. A wet thunk echoed loudly from the shadowed contents of the alley as his fingers came free, whizzing like a retracting tape measure through the hole buried in the ground and into the open air. His arm undulated like a snake, twisting, writhing, dripping blood. He sneered in distaste and flicked the remains from his hand. ?Ew.?

After cleaning himself off, Kid Buu turned his head to survey the shattered remains of the gate in the distance. Even from here the hole seemed huge. Blue specs like ants poured out from its center, threatening to overwhelm the Outcasts and spill over further into the streets. He scowled. Just what he needed: more blood on his pants.

The debt had been paid, but there was still more to be done. The battle waged on, and Super Buu, unless he was very much mistaken, had more kills than he did. The child would be damned if he was going to let that huge pink sword-wielding motherfucker outdo him again. Not now. Not when he and Seventeen had just squared up. Not when he finally had the chance to prove himself after all these years!

Never again would he be overlooked! Chance had chosen him for a reason. Chance had let him live for a reason!

The child's eyes were focused in intense concentration as his other two arms seemed to melt, to lose their definition, flowing into long, hand-tipped tentacles. In unison, all three limbs plunged through the ground like hunting sharks, carving through the earth and into the far distance. Towards the gate. The tiny azure specks that was the Dante formation scrambled in every direction as Buu's arms lunged out from underneath, lashing out with punches and energy blasts in a whirling dervish of flailing puttalin.

He would defend the fortress with his life, if for no other reason than to spite the universe.

Never again...

Removing herself from the now deceased Gargantum Akane bowed the fallen fighter, saluting his honor and bravery in the battle. Then it was swept away, for he was a foe; one of the people who had resulted in the slaughtering of her kin; of the swordsman Minosha. Stepping back a sniper shot wafted past the head of the young warrior, nearly resulting in a killing blow. Using the abilities of Afterimage she dodged another shot to the head, instead appearing behind the soldier who felt himself very clever. Locking his arms with her own the golden figure surged forward, using him as a human shield against the besieging assault of heavy fire that would have killed her, without the protection.

Of the original fifty soldiers only 23 now remained, all fighting valiantly without the mental restraint that was their fear. Surging into battle after there protected leader they quickly turned the tide of the fire fight, gunning down more soldiers with their fierce frenzy then they fell. Falling back for cover Akane shed her armor, leaping into the frenzy with no heed; punching; kicking; blasting. They fell before her like buildings in the force of a surge of water, quickly becoming one with the fallen on the ground.

Never pausing Akane rose her hand into the air, screaming for her men to follow her. Charging once more into the surge of battle around the gate the fighter deflected a Ki blast launched by a opponent into another enemy fighter. Expecting the man to die she was sorely mistaken, the golden energy blast hitting the obese fighters stomach; the effect of which made his stomach cave in, the beam in reality shattering before him. Turning to face the soldier the young lieutenant let her men surge in front of her, battling the forces who would have attacked their superior officer while she was distracted.

Dashing forward as if she was the wind Akane struck the pink fighter over and over, her fist repeatedly sinking into the stomach of the being; pounding him for all that he was worth. Blow after blow was dealt by the woman, the figure hulking over, clutching his stomach while he made Pillsbury doughboy noises. Stopping her assault the golden haired youth backed off, speaking to the soldier with slight dismay, embedded in it curiosity. ?What are you? Your body is like gum..?

The figure only made a ?woo hoo? noise, charging at her. Facing him sideways Akane rose her hand, gathering white energy into her palm while she frowned at the childish antics of the enemy. As the beam became larger and larger a nexus appeared in the center of the blast, her Ki concentrating to greater extensions then her untransformed self could possess. ?Y-You Imbecile! You dare mock me!? Placing both of her hands together the warrior split the energy ball into two separate balls, cradling each one in a different hand. Launching the one in her left hand at the pink fighter he was instantly vaporized, pivoting the girl launched the other beam at a wall covered in Dante Snipers, vaporizing them as well as making a small crater on the top section of the wall.

Panting deeply Akane breathed in and out, before returning to battle with her followers.

(Very bad quality.)

Despite the situation at the front gate Akane decided it would be best to fall back slightly, no longer feeling safe with the 14 soldiers that remained alive. Signaling them with a hand motion the figure told them to fall back to the outer wall, thanking the men on the wall in a silent prayer for their support with their weapons, covering the retreat. Several snipers fired in the courtyard, shooting at all soldiers bearing the Outcast flag who dared enter their own fortress, a something that not even the emotionally disturbed Akane could suppress. As her men made it to the walls the female figure stopped her procedure of holding the line, quickly dashing away from the oncoming soldiers, their numbers few, but a risk that the lieutenant was not willing to take.

Akane?s squad, having reached the wall safely, implemented their rifles, and other weapons, firing down at the soldiers in the courtyard with grim satisfaction; whispers of Dante and Akane Kimidori on their lips. The golden female was soon out of the courtyard, making it to the wall with one fell leap, her feet planting on the surface of the stone; resulting in a crouch before her leader, Broli. Her long golden hair shrouded her face as she spoke to her leader. ?The squad is falling like flies, my lord.?

Standing on her feet the warrior gave a cheery smile, one of the few signs that it was really Akane fighting; not simply a imposter. Facing the fortress entrance she rose her palm at the growing crowd of soldiers, gathering her Ki. Shooting a beam of Ki into the midst of the enemy soldiers resulted in a small explosion, vaporizing a few of the warriors. She continued this at a rapid pace, shooting down soldiers left and right as if they were targets, taking out a few with every single weak Ki blast; covering the entrance into the force with her soldiers on the outside wall facing the courtyard gate.
