[D][O] Hyperton Fortress
#21
War.

The elderly man looked on, it was though a large river was spilling into the fortress, rapidly flooding it. Many of Dante?s soldiers would perish, though not without taking the life of an Outcast. Gohan stood, waiting for a prime opportunity to strike; as always he was wearing the fa?ade that was his kitsune mask. The cries of men could be heard as they charged forth, though not all of them were battle cries, no, men yelled out in pain, in fear, and when they ceased to be apart of the competition, Death.

Though Gohan could hardly believe that this was for people?s entertainment, he knew it was thus. People liked to watch this? To watch people throw away their lives? for what? Some zeni? Glory? Fame? Death would be the reward for anyone who didn?t win this competition. Ultimately every ones reward would be death, but why would anyone want to experience death of all things, twice?

The old man couldn?t really speak, he was after all, in the competition, he had taken many a life, though what did it really matter if he became a mass murder in this competition, after all, if he didn?t then he would probably be the one who ended up dieing; Something the old man didn?t want to experience for a few more years, even though he had lived his life, and didn?t mind the thought of death.

Something in Gohan told him it was time. Time to fight, for Dante!

OOC: I like the post, though im really unmotivated atm.

?Grenade!? the roar was defiant and brought the Dante company to the ground, hands flung over ears and successfully warding off the deafening call of a grenade that blasted Syntech soldiers all across the room they?d huddled in. Cold peered round threshold and was glad to see soldiers who?d suffered swift defeat, their bodies either completely destroyed or disemboweled by the flailing shrapnel. Cold stepped within the room as the ashen smog from the grenade began to fade into a gentle mist, the smell of napalm growing fond of the eager changeling.

?Good work private.? Someone from behind him mentioned, and offered a pat on his upper back since they were dwarfed by his tremendous stature. ?From here we have to get deeper into the fortress,? and he jabbed his fingers at a blueprinted layout of the fortress that they were within, leaving the emperor baffled as to how they came upon such intricate design. ?Now it shouldn?t be too much of a problem to get us from here to here, and if we happen to make it right here we?ll have a better vantage point for the snipers to scope out high priority figures among the bastards.?

Curiosity had finally gotten the better of him, fore these men were not quite captains, nor lieutenant?s?not quite soldiers either. ?Who the fuck are you guys?? it was quite polite, though it severely lacked elegance, in Cold?s eyes. His hand lingered over the pistol holstered at his waist and his eyes shifted into a narrowed state.

?Who do you think, private? We?re Special Ops.? The one who?d engaged the changeling in conversation stated proudly, though another explosion rocked the entire structure and sent everyone present off balance. ?C?mon we got shit to take care of. Take this, it?ll make you feel better.? He shoved a flask into the sovereign?s hands and motioned for all present to follow and they chose to do so. King Cold joined in amidst the fray as soon as he put the flask to his lips and swallowed the enigmatic supplements.

?Now, we?re pretty much out here to engage specific marks in battle, you may see a mark as such.? And what occurred next shocked the very balances of everything just. The action paused and there was a translucent arrow of jade color floating just outside the window. This stunned him, paired with the fact that only him and the one special ops agent harbored the ability to move. ?This is? not a mark, as you can tell from his green arrow, but the transparency you see. The transparency designates him as a current threat. Now go. Show Syntech forces a reversal!?

?What? the? fuck? did you give me to drink?? Cold stood for a moment, surveying the hip flask and cast it aside. ?Subliminal.? And he allowed a scoff as reality set into motion, snatching the syntech soldier that leapt out of covertness and flinging him upwards. There was no chuckle when the yellow-armored fell upon his awaiting tail, and then cast?with an indenturing boom, against a conveniently placed wall. It nearly shattered, catching the attention of the operatives present.

?Well, don?t watch it. You guys should have the explosives to take care of this one.? A delightful sneer became evident of the changelings outstanding features. ?Where does this lead to??

?We don?t have the exact nature of the rooms, just the outlines of this fort. Shit, this could lead to a hailing of gunfire for all I know.? Yet his purpose was resolute and the makeshift explosives were within his grasp, prepped and pressed against the wall.

?For Dante!? Cold stated, clear enough for those with him to understand and for any lingering nearby to wonder why a man would emulate the cry of his purpose with no sort of vantage at his disposal.

Murder.

Something Gohan had become quite familiar with through the recent events, which were Dante?s Abyss. Today Gohan would end the lives of many, though the possibility of hid own demise was plausible. Outcasts were no pushover, not like Syntech anyways. They had many strong warriors on their side, not that Dante didn?t, but they were definitely the biggest obstacle that Dante had to overcome before winning this tournament.

The old man knew it was time, time to fight, time to murder, time to kill. Without a second the Gramps quickly rushed to join the fray. Soon he came upon a small group of Outcast solders that were ?doing in? fellow warriors of Dante. ?Tch, this looks like as good a place as anyplace to start?. The lust and joy of battle was already starting to take hold on him. He smirked from under his mask as he easily dodged a punch that a na?ve outcast soldier had sent his way. ?They should really train you more before they send you out to be slaughtered,? he laughed; he returned the blow swiftly, disabling the soldier from further.

He turned, looking at the rest of them.

?Boo? he said sarcastically, trying to be funny.

?Quickly!? one of them roared, ?Get him!!?

They all ran towards the old man in rapid pace, brandishing their weapons, swords, daggers, knives, guns, all were there, but it didn?t matter. Those who had guns stayed back a little ways and started firing at Gohan.

?Heh? The old man quickly moved his hands with great speed, catching the bullets in his hands. ?Nice aim, though I don?t think it?ll help you in your fight against me.? The old man said boastfully before flinging the bullets at the oncoming wave of outcast combatants. One by one they fell as they charged forth, those who weren?t penetrated by the bullets kept on, rushing the old man hoping to overwhelm him.

Metal sliced through the air towards the stout man. A few he was able to dodge, though one of them got lucky and was able to slice into the old man, giving him more than just a simple flesh wound. He winced in pain, quickly backing up to regain his composure, though the blood from the wound gushed out, spilling onto the ground, staining it along with his clothes. The long deep cut ran along the old mans body, from his top left shoulder to his bottom right.

?Tch, god damn it!? he snarled in pain. He ripped his vest and black undershirt off, revealing his surprisingly in-shape body. Simply put, the old man was built. The crimson liquid ran over Gohan?s skin and onto his pants. ?Gah!? he spat, still trying to regroup. The Outcast solders would have none of that though, and relentlessly charged him again, hoping to kill him.

The pain blinded him and clouded his thoughts, though he knew if he didn?t think of anything fairly soon, he wouldn?t have much to think about, in this tournament anyways. Almost instinctively Gohan threw an energy ball in the general direction of the oncoming soldiers. The ball of ki zipped through the air headed towards the oncoming solders of Outcasts. One of them, brave, yet stupid enough swung at the bell, hoping to deflect it off to the side with his sword. The ball was sliced through and exploded in the warriors face, extinguishing his life, and a few others that were in close vicinity of him.

The old human breathed heavily, as blood still came forth, although much slower than what it had been, he coughed harshly, blood erupting from his mouth, signaling that it was much worse than he first thought, if he didn?t wrap up the remnants of the small squad, he knew he?d be done for, if not by them, then by the huge wound that tore across his chest.

The Fortress has been penetrated and is invaded! Dante has broken completely, both top and bottom.

Android 17 and his unit has broken past Kerry's unit and is now reaching the Fortress to aid in the defense. Believe me, Outcasts need it.

Kakarot has been defeated, but not killed. Groll has been killed by 17's unit.

More Dante troops arrive from the north.

Cell Jr's unit has come in from the North and is engaging the non-combat troops of Dante's Camp, led by General Joy. The troops are evacuating/running as they are not combat capable.

?Not again?? murmured Cell Junior as he strolled back and forth along the inner platform of Bajir Fort where the snipers were perched with their fingers readily on the triggers waiting for any fool to come within range as the order had already been given.

By now it was midday as the clear overhead skies allowed for the sun to shine brightly down unopposed, however within Bajir Fort, there were no bright spots among the troops, not even their new appointed leader, Cell Junior, looked happy. Almost as if a rain cloud was over only the fort and continuously showered the Outcast building plucking away at the team?s morale.

Perhaps the team had a good reason for being so depressed. It was unclear to CJ why his men were miserable; all he had were possible reasons for it. Even so just thinking of them made Cell Jr. feel ever more worthless.

The winged leader continued to patrol back and forth along the sniper platform waiting for something to happen with Dante as he continued to daydream thinking about his insignificance.

Why did General Super Buu have to leave making me become the leader, this is ridiculous! Why couldn?t he have taken me with him to fight? After all, I want to fight and not be confined within these walls playing standoff with the opposing Dante Forces. Besides, having him take me with him means he can continue to lead and I?ll have no pressure on me as I do right now?

I need to do something?

I can?t just sit here and wait for the fight to come to me while my allies go out and have fun leaving me behind. This is? ?Bullshit!? screamed CJ as the last word came out rather than stay contained within his head. The men within Bajir Fort all turned to the little runt who screamed catching them by surprise. Even the snipers staring down the sight of Dante looked away for a second to see what was going on.

By now, the non-transformer leader had turned towards the men below and looked over at his current numbers as he pondered his options.

?Listen up,? bellowed their leader. ?We?re moving out to go to Hyperton Fortress and assist our allies. Some will be staying here to reinforce this Fort, however don?t worry, I highly doubt Dante will attack once I leave and even if they do, I will return and defend you guys.? Looking amongst the group, Cell Jr. spotted Corey(NPC) and Toma, he pointed at them two. ?Those two men will be staying to lead this Fort, those who I order to stay here will be under their command.?

After the quick little speech, Cell Junior made his way to the base floor of the Fort where the gate was and discussed a few things between Toma, Corey(NPC) and himself. After a few orders, they divided the men and assigned them their new positions as CJ headed out towards Hyperton Fortress.

After a brief walk, the flashes and sounds grew ever so loud signaling that the fight indeed was still growing strong. Cell Junior knew this was his moment to shine and would damn well make sure to make the most of it.

?Now it really begins??

Standing at the outskirts of Hyperton Fortress, the sight alone was breathtaking and not in the good way. Bodies covered the floor like leaves as every blast from artillery caused bodies to become tossed around like leaves in the wind.

This is what I been missing pondered Cell Junior as he held out his ki sword igniting the blue beam it gave off.

Turning to his men the winged creature checked to make sure the formation of his battalion was correct and luckily it was. ?Good, now we get what we wanted, a fight!?
The battalion roared as Cell Junior gave for the signal to advance slowly as his plan was already discussed with his company.

Slowly Cell Junior?s Company crept forward as by now Dante was well aware of the newly approaching Outcast Unit. Seeing the gates of Hyperton blown to shreds and Dante forcing their way in, Cell Junior knew what he had to do.

?New Plan!? roared Cell Junior as his men continued to close in on Dante slowly. Cell Junior ran around his unit announcing his new battle plan. He spoke to every group he had, first it was the Infantry and Special Operation Forces as their order was simple, hold the front line with their leader and protect every behind them. Followed were the Support who had the same job as the Infantry, following them were the Snipers and Artillery as their order was easy, rain death to Dante.

By now, the winged creature stood in front of his battalion once again as they continued their march slowly towards Dante.

As they closed in, Cell Junior smiled as he had high hopes about this battle along with himself. He felt unappreciated and unimportant but now, after thinking of a quick battle plan, it seems as if he really isn?t that bad under pressure. Perhaps all that free time he had made him go senile by not doing anything.

However all Cell Jr. wanted out of this fight was the respect of his fellow teammates, he was still unsure of how they felt about being led by a tiny man. They could have nothing but good things to say but CJ wouldn?t know, as all he assumes is the negatives of the given situation.

The winged leader held his sword up in the air as he yelled, ?Hold!?

The battalion took the next two steps and came to a complete stop as they waited for their next order.

CJ eyed the nearby Dante men and judged the distance between them and his snipers. ?Snipers, can you get clear shots on them?? ?No,? replied the general sniper audience as Cell Junior signaled to march on. CJ fell back into the sniper ranks as they continued to march forward. ?Let me know when you guys are within range,? said Cell Jr. to his fellow sniper members.

After a short walk, the snipers spoke up announcing they are within range; CJ counted twenty more steps forward and bellowed out an order to stop. Making his way back up to the front ranks, he held his ki sword up.

?Ready the Artillery and Snipers,? roared the little blue runt?

After a brief pause? Its time announced CJ to himself.

?FIRE!? shouted Cell Junior as he lowered his sword and brought it back to his front section.

The Snipers and Artillery began their job and fired upon the Dante Forcers as CJ signaled for his front ranks to hold still and wait to see whether or not Dante charges after their defenseless Artillery and Snipers or flee in confusion.

Wonder where Commander Broccoli is I still don?t have a face to put that name to, hopefully he?s still alive so I may meet him before his death.

Vejita I's eyes were fascinated with the sight of Kakkorat, observantly noting every detail of the injured soldier. The stains of his blood almost completely obscured his identity to the saiya-jin king, but the life of the Outcast soldier still remained with his chest heaving for oxygen. "Soon, my dear Kakkorat, death will greet itself to you from my hands alone." His words were swift with the knowledge of the battle being instilled to him through an officer of Dante hollering it alongside of him. His eyes crept open and with his pupils enhancing in proportion from the sheer awe. Without regard of the battle, he slithered through the realm of warfare to the pinnacle of the fortress, toppling over the remains of Outcasts soldiers and stomping ahead through the stairs.

His hair whipped furiously from his movements, and he placed himself in the view of all of Dante. Vejita's voice bellowed with absolute dominance and authority, attempting to extend to the depths of this vicinity. "Hear me, my brothers! Dante Fortress stands here, and let us unite at this location alone. Snipers, attack all who dare step before our fort with aggression!" Vejita's voice was piercing through even the most disturbing shrieks of soldiers, with only the desire to ensure his soldier count throughout this battle. He pursued downwards to the lower layer of the fortress, seeking out any other Outcasts soldiers that would refuse to evacuate the fortress, which Dante had attempted to claim.

UPDATE

-Cell Jr and a large group of Dante units are engaging at the Dante Camp to the north. The reinforcements from Dante (that came from the Fortress) outnumber CJ greatly, by around 600 to 1,000. General Joy is in the Dante units. Corey is with CJ.

-Android 17 has defeated Kerry's group and is now advancing on the Fortress from the south and east. They are being met at the gate by Dante's Forces and must fight their way in.

-Broli and King Vegeta are in (or on) the Fortress and moving inside. Super Buu is engaging them and holding them off.

At the moment, Dante looks like they will take SB's group and CJ's group, but A-17 continues to pose the biggest threat to their foreseeable victory.

Artillary explosions have halted as the groups are too mixed to get clear shots. Snipers continue to fire from both sides.

I hope this update is clear and helps you.

OOC: This roleplay blows.

An explosion rang above the Saiya-Jin?s ears, the warrior dropping to one knee as he covered his head. Debris of stone and rock rushed over his body, gritting his teeth as he climbed back to his feet. ?The soldiers are falling like flies,? came a voice from his side. He looked to see the twinkling eyes of the young Akane Kimidori, his new lieutenant. The words were synthesized in his mind, his face staring down on the courtyard. He wiped a slew of Outcast blood from his forehead, putting his hands to his sides as he nodded to himself. He had become so entrenched in the battle that he had lost all focus of progress in taking the fortress. They had breached Hyperton successfully, and now further orders were required.

?Dante! Secure the rest of the wall! Force them into the center of the fortress! I want snipers, assault, and support all thinning out the center of Hyperton. As for the rest of you, let?s finish this fight!? The men roared, beginning to follow the orders immediately. Broli himself rushed down the path of the Hyperton outer wall, knocking away Outcast soldiers like bowling pins, his men right at his side. ?Sir!? came the voice behind him, halting him in his tracks. A single messenger stood at his side. ?General Joy sends a request for aid. A Mr. Cell Jr. has broken through Captain Pigero and is routing the General?s camp to the north.? As he finished his words, he handed the Commander a pair of binoculars. Broli peered through them, attempting to bypass the smoke billowing into the sky. In the distance, he could make out Joy?s camp. ?Agh! They?re being slaughtered! Here are my orders,? the Saiya-Jin began, proceeding to delve out the necessary steps to save his General. The messenger saluted Burori, and with a nod, he was gone, leaving the Commander back to the process of crushing the Outcast force in Hyperton.

His progress was halted again with the arrival of yet another messenger. ?Sir!? Broli sighed, motioning for his soldiers to continue the assault without his presence momentarily. ?I hold two messages for you from Lieutenant Kerry. The first reads as such. ?Commander, the Outcast Commander has arrived. We are moving to intercept.?? Broli smiled. ?Excellent! And the second?? The messenger hesistated for a moment, taking an instinctive step back as he read the message. ?The Outcast Commander has broken through our lines. He is moving to Hyperton.?

Broli spat to one side, tossing the letter to the ground. ?Let me know the moment he arrives!? The messenger?s eyes were hollow, giving away the last bit of news he held. ?Where is he?? The messenger pointed to the eastern gate. ?I?ll handle it. The rest of you, keep the attack going!? And with a burst of speed, the Commander was gone, pushing himself through a wave of his own men in an attempt to reach the eastern gate. Akane was giving out orders as her Commander rushed by. ?Commander?? She shouted, attempting to halt her superior in order to understand the look of anxiousness on his face.

?The eastern gate, the Outcast Commander!? He yelled back, never ceasing his pace as he dropped from the wall onto the solid earth. A legion of his men stood at the gates, attempting to push back the encroaching Outcast unit. ?Spec Ops, go over the wall and engage that unit from behind!? The Saiya-Jin ordered, pushing himself through his own troops to get immediately into the fray. ?Commander Seventeen!? he roared, pushing through the front line of his men and into the force of Outcast soldiers. ?These warriors are nothing! Fight with me!? He announced to his men. The two sides crashed together, Broli searching for the Outcast Commander. If he could kill the android, the head of Outcast would be severed.

OOC: C?mon 17.

Cell Junior continued his defensive posture, waiting for any non-Outcasts to cross paths with his energy sword.

{BOOM}

Boom after boom was all Cell Junior could really hear due to his current location standing right in front of the Outcast Artillery. With every artillery energy shell and sniper energy bullet fired, a bigger smile rose from the non-transformers face.

Perhaps I am doing good after all still a bit early to say it but look at them thought Cell Junior as he watched the Dante Forces who were being shelled scattered like ants avoiding rain drops.

Cell Jr. let out a sigh as it dawned on him? ?They?re non-combat units, no wonder they?re panicking,? mumbled the Outcast General.

Despite the units of Dante being non-combatable doesn?t mean Cell Junior should ignore them and allow them to get away in terms of a good gesture. By the looks of things at Hyperton Fortress, it seems Dante didn?t hold back at all.

By now the Fortress of the Outcasts was in shambles. Dante had fully broken in by the clash was within the fortress and out of sight of Cell Junior, all he was able to notice was the Dante forces still pouring into the Fortress unopposed.

?We?re running out of time,? growled Cell Junior as he clenched his left fist.

The non-transformer wanted to charge into Hyperton and help but he was unsure of the inwards of the Fortress and could only hope they were still alive and holding back. For CJ, if he were to charge in and discover Dante had the Fortress already, it would only mean a certain failure for the little runt. For now, he would hold his position and continue to fight.

~*~*~*~

By now, Dante had a plan developed as to what to do about the new dilemma outside of the Fortress. It didn?t take long for the Forces of Dante to assemble and march on towards the Freckled Outcast Leader.

Cell Junior raised his ki sword up in the air as the Dante Forces stood in front of Cell Jr. and his units. The winged leader gave the order for the artillery to cease-fire for now it was inevitable that the two units will be clashing and spilling blood on the enriched soil and grass of Outcast Territory.

Speaking up, Cell Junior gave one last speech before Dante was to reach them. ?Men, it was a pleasure, for now we have been waiting and craving for this day when we would get to fight. This is not a last statement speech for we will win this battle and we will meet again over the dead bodies of the opposing Dante Forces. But just be prepared for them and give it your all. Do not disappoint me for I trust everyone of you fully,? with that Cell Junior released the muscles within his arm and allowed for his arm to fall by his side as he crouched slightly taking on a fighting posture.

By now the Dante Forces were racing towards Cell Junior and his unit of misfits, the cerulean shelled monster waited with his energy sword outward his left hand at his waist and facing the opposing team as he stayed crouched somewhat waiting for those Dante men to reach him.

{BANG} after {BANG} run out as snipers from both sniper units from both sides exchanged shots as they closed in, who would emerge among the body count?

Leaving the remnants of Kerry's attempted stall for dead, the majin leapt through the chaos of battle as he followed their reformed unit across the torn field. The dark-haired white-lighter, their new temporary leader, had briefly taken command. Seventeen had disappeared mere minutes ago in a flash of glowing, dove-white orbs. Needing medical attention, the android had whisked himself inside. Teleported, Buu perceived dimly. The android knew, like he did, that they needed every elite fighter they had working at 100%.

They all knew that, of course. They all knew they were in a bad position as they charged the gates, screaming and using the shattered rubble for cover as Dante's new defenders blocked the gate, spraying a withering hail of bullets out from the yawning entrance of the fortress. They knew that they were likely going to die as they returned with their own volleys, blindly firing from their cover in an attempt to pin down the invaders.

But it didn't matter to them, and for once Kid Buu agreed. This game, this contest, whatever the result was, they wanted to say in the end that they did their best. But as they reloaded their guns for what felt like the last time, Kid Buu felt a fresh resurgence of power tingle in his limbs.

No; it wasn't over yet. Not by a long shot. As long as he could still breathe - no, wait. He didn't do that anyway.

Fine. As long as he could still swing his fists, then, these Dante bastards weren't going to have his fortress, even if he had to tear it down around their ears!

"Buu!"

Paige's call echoed above the torrent of artillery fire that bellowed out from within. "You've got to break that line! We'll be torn apart before we get inside at this rate!"

The majin nodded and, without a moment of pause, sank his pink fist through the reinforced wall that separated the inside and outside of the fort. His flexible arm extended, pouring from the hole like a snake emerging from its den. His stubby fingers struck out and greedily snatched onto a surprised hostile. His puttalin body twisted, flexible limb wrapping around the foe's head like a constricting noose. The majin lifted him up, relentlessly lifting, choking him, before beginning to thrash his captive around wildly. The man screamed as Buu smashed him into his comrades, crunches of bone echoing from the impacts in dry sounding snaps.

The commotion was complete and utter, soldiers scrambling to avoid the devastating path of their hapless teammate, scrambling over their makeshift barriers. The break in the action was all the adrenaline-pumped Outcasts really needed, and with a scream that shattered the heavens the soldiers charged the suddenly disoriented Dante troops, cutting them down with a deadly spray of bullets and ki, trapping Dante between death by bullet or by braining.

The child retracted his arm as he finally felt the body in his hand turn into nothing but limp jelly, and he let the spent figure drop like a ragged doll to the ground. But he wasn't done yet. He tensed, roaring in childish fury before smashing through the debilitated wall like some insane mockery of the Kool-Aid Man, all smiles and with a new drink fresh off the menu: Diet Death.

"You play with Buu!" The puttalin child screamed, plowing headfirst into the very first blue-coated soldier that he saw, sending him flying into the distance. He then quickly fended off a relatively-experienced blow from one of the enemy's special forces units, one that might have hurt him had Buu not been twenty mother-fucking times stronger. Too bad for the dude, he thought. With an insane grin on his rubbery lips, the majin leaped into the air and swung out his foot, smashing in the skull of his attacker and sending him stumbling back, twitching, into the dissolving Dante defensive line that was now full of Outcast soldiers, knives glinting with bloody tints as they sank themselves into snipers.

A loud cheer went up as they continued the fight, a tremendous shout that rocked through every soul, that bolstered them like a rising tide. They had the momentum now.

They were the Outcasts. Neglected for so long, they had found a home. And they would defend it.

The child screamed as his short fingers tensed, a look of focused concentration playing across his ill-defined face, revealed in shifting shadows as pinpoints of light began to amass in each hand. Three in all, they swelled greater and greater, bursting into fuller prominence in sharp pops, filling the air with the hum of swelling, raw magical power and the crimson light of his energy.

With a deafening howl that rattled the walls of the fortress down to their foundations, Kid Buu hurled the three immense Reaper Bombs into the air. The child's fingers twisted, hooked, each hand engaged in a bewildering dance with each other as the balls swayed in matching arcs and torques. As if in slow motion, the orbs began their descent, picking up speed as they flew with deadly percision downward. Faster, faster, ever faster, the child's eyes narrowed, glinting with anticipation...!

The bombs impacted dead center, plunging into the group of enemy artillery in the distance.

All sound suddenly stopped as the blasts, for a merest fraction of a second, swelled, reinforcing one another as they reached a critical mass.

And then, just like that, they popped.

The explosion was beyond describing, beyond words. An entire section of the second floor was there; and then in the next moment, gone. There was no flying rubble, only a swiftly expanding wall of concussive force that ripped apart the village, turning sturdy walls into splinters. There was a great yawning sound of expended energy as the radiant pink spheres merged into one, crackling with the majin's electricty, lighting the entire battlefield in a bloody radiance before fading

Silence, and then, from somwhere in the distance, a single scream.

"THIS BUU'S HOUSE!"

The shade of darkness had set the ultimate scene to diminish the effects of the revolting war of its actual harsh reality. It's murkiness was conveyed throughout the warzone, but one particular creature was unaffected by it. His stature was defined and placed himself in the focal point of the battilion of Dante soldiers. The unidentified soldier gazed at the visual of the armies almost thrusting themselves into one another with blood and sweat flinging upon their bodies.

They combated against the Outcast invaders with resiliancy with trepidation numbed by the overshadow of sheer bravery. Victory was undetermined at this rate, but their pride could never be properly challenged. Dante had confined themselves in confidence and reputation; no one could deny them the achievements of the days of Dante Abyss: Conquest. No one. Another battle however had snatched his attentiveness from the masses engulfing him, one of incredible significance.

In the distance of this confrontation was the dim view of two warriors of immense proportions. A battle between two creatures that could very well reconfigure the entire predictions of this outcome and one that would replenish the amazement of this war. The saiya-jin commander, Broli, held his cranium at a pride angle with his golden hair glimmering miraculously through the shunning sunlight. His eyes were in possession of a particular warrior, leader of the Outcasts, Android-17. The android was a query to the Dante leaders, only defined as a query through them.

Their pre-battle rituals were moments of halting while exchanging only glances of ferocious intimidation in attempts to incapacitate one another through a game of mental assault. The unknown warrior's feet delicately placed themselves through the interior of the fortress with his words entering the region of both commanders.

"We've solidified our mark upon this world - the possibility of failure is only faded with unimportance through our accomplishments. Whether the blood of either of us fall upon this ground, the name Dante will forever rest upon your lips and the wounds we give will forever be existent." The silence of his foot steps were noted, but his demonic voice triggered a notice of arrogance from him by Android-17. Vejita I introduced himself with a sheer motion of his hand.

His effortless mocking signal could only be described as of which was shown to royalty, with a slight bow accompanied with it. The saiya-jin's lips curled hideously with his wrinkles constructing only a solidifcation of his overwhelming confidence for this battle. With his tattered clothes clinging by the sheer threads of fabric, his face blemished by the blood of anonymous men, and the indications of his sleep deprivation, he placed himself into a position of a lack of focus.

The commanders of Dante were situated along one another and both reassured one another with a slight nod of equal respect. It was bizarre to King Vejita; displaying any miniature form of respect to the saiya-jin warrior Broli. He was once a creature of less value to him and realizing his inferiority to himself being that he wasn't in possession of royal blood. However, this competition had established a sense of equality between them with both presenting their qualities to each other.

Broli had commanded upon the forces of his unit with absolute perfection in Vejita's interpretation, and had entitled himself once again as a trusting companion as he had years ago during Dante's Abyss 05'. If not for this dominating demon portruding from the dorment layers of his soul, perhaps, he would even go as far as to sacrifice his own self for the safety of this saiya-jin.

Lightning crackled across the sky, its golden light sparing its fragrances of luminosity to the embattled earth. The fortress known as Hyperton lay in near ruin, its tall towers of stone now lying in a crumbled wake of destruction. Smoke filled the sky, choking the crimson sky as sunset proceeded onwards. From miles away, the battle could be heard, Dante and Outcast soldiers alike fighting to survive. Both sides knew that the losing side would be crippled far beyond recovery, leaving either Outcast or Dante to claim victory.

In the north, the Outcast officer Cell Jr. fought to slaughter General Joy?s camp. A thousand Dante troops were moving to intercept him, and thus another battle of ferocity was about to begin.

In the center of the Hyperton, General Super Buu led the defensive efforts against the Dante forces that were attempting to secure the walls and encircle them. The pink monstrosity roared as he tore away the limbs of a Dante soldiers. ?No one gets through!?

However, it was the eastern gate of Hyperton where the real momentum was occurring. Broli stood amidst the fray, eyes set on the android before him. By some strange occurrence, the two commanders stood within a bubble of mere tranquility, a gap of scorched earth the only separation between the two. It was as if fate herself had beckoned for this battle to occur, forcing soldiers deserving no mention to fight outside the space between the two. Fight they did, Outcast and Dante soldier alike roaring against one another with blow after blow, the commanders standing not phased as if deaf to the destruction around them.

Nothing more could add to the intensity of the fight that was about to occur. No deaths, no glorious victories or defeats, not a single circumstance could make this fight any more important than it already was. It was Commander versus Commander. Android 17 had killed the Konat Lieutenant, Minoshia, while Broli had pushed deep into the heart of Outcast territory. This fight was not merely an effort to protect Hyperton or to prevent Seventeen?s reinforcement. It was a necessary battle. It was a battle that did not ask if it should occur, but rather when it would occur. Here, at the eastern gate of Hyperton, amongst a massive effort to stomp out the Outcast force, the battle between the two Commanders was going to happen.

The Saiya-Jin clenched his fists, his black hair flashing to gold and his eyes fading to a color of sea-blue. ?I see you?re not waiting to pull out all the cards,? the android muttered, raising an eyebrow as absorbed the details of the Super Saiya-Jin.

?I can sense your power. I know you?re far stronger than I can imagine. Why must we dabble with tricks?? The Saiyan retorted, his opponent chuckling in agreement. Silence returned as the only medium between the two, as if each warrior waited for the other to make the first move.

?Broli,? came the voice, the stalwart Vegetian King taking his place at Broli?s side. He nodded to his Co-Commander in respect before giving Seventeen a glare.

?King Vejita, this is my battle,? Broli whispered. ?I know I can?t defeat Android 17, but he needs to be held off long enough for the rest of our forces to take the fortress. Let me handle this.?

The King shook his head. It was then that Broli noticed the glimmer in the Saiyan?s eyes. It was a glimmer of respect, as if by through all of their past occurrences together, the King had, in his very core, found himself respecting the Saiyan that held no offer to him other than servitude and sacrifice. ?You nearly gave your life to save me from Nubian. Nubian wanted me dead, and you fought so that I could reclaim my throne.? Broli?s open mouth found no ability to speak as his King continued. ?You almost sacrificed yourself for me, for my reign, for the supremacy of the Saiya-Jin race. Now, against Seventeen, it?s my turn to fight for you.?

Vejita I outstretched his hand, a crackle of lightning illuminating the expression of his face. The two of them were no longer Saiya-Jins simply fighting together. They were brothers, and regardless of the present, their past would always bind them thus. The Saiya-Jin King, by giving his hand, had offered Broli a position of equality that would exist regardless of royalty.

Although the King?s morals were held differently than his own, his King was regardless one of the truest Saiyans of them all. Abiding in a sense of brotherhood, Vejita I was ready to give his life to assist Burori, and Burori was prepared to do the same for him. Tackling the task of battling Seventeen, the Commander of the Outcast army, was a futile goal for Broli alone. He knew that he would die, that he stood no chance against the android. However, with the arrival of his king, the circumstances had changed. With the help of Vejita I, Broli knew that the line at the eastern gate of Hyperton would not be broken so easily. Even more important, Commander Seventeen knew it too.

Seventeen rematerialized outside the depths of the fortress?his eyes attentive and his muscles tense as he sought to locate the unit he had sent ahead as an invasion force. His little infiltration of the structure to attain medical attention had undoubtedly left his men without a suitable leader, and it was nigh time that the android returned to the duties at hand. With a grin, the machine-hybrid sauntered down the hallway in an effort to reach his men the quickest.

Along the way, Seventeen encountered pockets of resistance, but with the utmost elegance, the cyborg managed to dispatch the few hurdles that stood between him and a reunion with his beloved soldiers. Throwing his hands forward, the android obliterated the wall before him with a diminutive ki blast. As the cloud of dust dissipated, the cybernetic warrior was gifted with a rather unimpaired view of the battle unfolding before the east gate.

The panorama was one speckled with bursts of flame, energy, and gore, and without even so much as a second glance, Seventeen leaped through his makeshift exit. The android twirled and pivoted as he descended into the sea of soldiers?his body bursting into an amalgamation of light particles mere moments before the culmination of his plunge. The Commander of the Outcasts reappeared alongside the love of his life near the posterior end of his troops.

?It?s about time!? Paige decreed, dashing forward and embracing the man as if they had been apart for months. Seventeen closed his eyes as a smile spread across his wearied features?the realities of war numbed by the warmth the woman?s touch brought him. The cyborg relished in the sensation, but before he was even able to indulge in the paradise, it was torn asunder in a heartbeat.

The sound of the bullet was lost among the lovers, but its arrival would trigger a profound schism between them. Paige?s knees buckled?triggering the machine-hybrid to be torn violently from his state of relaxation back into the cold, harsh realities of war. Seventeen opened his eyes in enough time to dash forward and grab the woman as she fell away from him.

?No?? Seventeen muttered?his hand trembling as he softly rested one of his pallid hands on the woman?s ruptured chest. A bullet from a lucky marksman had torn through Paige?s right side and decimated the contents of her ribcage before exiting the opposite side of her thoracic cavity. Turning his attention in the direction of the shot, the cybernetic warrior spotted the sniper a few yards away.

The man wore a smug grin on his face as he lifted his scope back to his visage and aimed his rifle at the android. With a hateful scream, Seventeen summoned up a compacted sphere of energy and hurled it toward the killer. The dense projectile rocketed through the sky at a rate too fast for the marksman to keep an eye on. A moment later, his visor shattered as his skull was obliterated by the attack.

?It?s going to be all right,? Seventeen,? the soft voice was that of a dying woman. The android turned his attention back to his dying girlfriend and let out a soft whimper as she reached one of her jade hands up to cradle the side of his face. ?I love?? Paige was silenced by a burst of ki that left her face a defiled shell of its former beauty. The man who fired the shot was overwhelmed by a heap of soldiers, but the damage had already been dealt.

Resting the woman?s corpse on the ground, the android crossed her arms over her chest and turned to the conflict at hand. It took only a split-second for the frustration and hate swelling within him to trigger him to ascend to the next tier. Unfortunately for the situation, Seventeen?s default ascension wasn?t enough to quell his rage?he needed more.

?Commander Seventeen!? The words were foreign to the android, but whoever was behind them most certainly had chosen the incorrect time to assail the onyx-haired warrior. ?These warriors are nothing! Fight with me!? Seventeen cocked his head to the side the moment he heard the arrogant challenge issued unto him. A saiya-jin was stampeding through the deluge of soldiers in a mad dash to intercept the motionless android. It was one of Dante?s illustrious commanders?the saiya-jin prodigy Broli, and behind the officer, King Vejita trailed by only a slim margin.

Seventeen understood that the commanders were not rushing forth for a little moment of parley?they wanted to single out the machine-hybrid and murder him. The android twitched slightly at the proposition as the first of the commander reached his position. The cyborg?s vision was blurred by shades of crimson rage as he attempted to get a coherent view of the saiya-jin perched a few feet from him.

?We've solidified our mark upon this world?the possibility of failure is only faded with unimportance through our accomplishments. Whether the blood of either of us fall upon this ground, the name Dante will forever rest upon your lips and the wounds we give will forever be existent,? King Vejita?s declaration fell on ears numbed by hatred. Seventeen took a step forward, but a sudden impulse throughout his meager form brought him to his knees.

Seventeen?s mind was wrought by a variety of disturbing sensations, and after a while, he completely zoned out to the conversation that the two commanders were having just a few feet away. It was then that the android detected something with his infantile ki sense?a something that did not settle well within the depths of his stomach.

?Idiots think you can deceive me,? Seventeen screamed, swallowing down his emotions and vaulting to his feet. ?Your lack of honor disgusts me. If you wanted to fight me so badly then show some damn pride in your tactics. You two sadden me greatly,? the android remarked, glancing over his shoulder in the direction of the ki signatures. ?We?ll meet again soon, but for now, I implore you to revel in your strategy.? With that, Seventeen vanished in a swirl of white and blue lights.

Although the android reappeared but a few dozen yards, he relished in his lack of an energy signature. With a final smile, he vanished once more and continued on his merry way.

OOC: I see how it is guys =) I <3 you all.

Buu?s horse-chopper was cutting swathes through the enemy troops, but it wasn?t enough. The odds were overwhelming, and though almost the entire Outcast army was present, it still didn?t seem to be enough to match the encroaching Dante forces. The fortress was buckling, unable to hold up under their incessant pushing. Slowly but surely, Hyperton was falling.

But still, they fought. Gunfire spilled erratically through hallways, coating the air in a fine red mist. An Outcast soldier glanced through a door only to have a sword pierce his skull. Fists collided with stomachs, heads butted heads. And one more number upped on the score chart.

On the rooftops, two snipers from opposing sides were locked together, rifles shuddering in a terse grapple. One slip, one second later, and the butt of one?s gun collided with the other?s skull. Someone else went home.

This war was merely a game, a competition. And yet, in the minds of the soldiers, it had become so much more. The violence was no game ? it was reality. And the pride of winning still lay up ahead, like some glimmering prize just out of reach.

?Fortify the doorways!? roared Buu. ?Don?t let anything through!? He paused to swing his sword, smashing the blunt edge of the blade against the skull of a Dante gunner.

A hand clapped down on the monster?s shoulder, and he spun, only to come face-to-face with the messenger he had seen earlier.

?What is it, soldier?? barked the General, zanbato still raised.

?It?s the commander!? blurted the young alien. ?He?s returned from the south and joined the battle with reinforcements!?

?What!?? Buu?s mouth fell open, and his next words were tinted with urgency. ?Where is he now!??

?Outside the East gate, but--? he stopped the General, who was already heading for the door. ?There?s something else ??

The monster wheeled around, impatience written all over his face. ?What is it?!? he snapped.

The messenger gulped once, then spoke. ?United have arrived to aid Dante.?

The words cut through Buu like a knife. ?? What??

?United ??

?Shut up.? Buu?s face was unreadable as he swept a hand backwards across his forehead, smoothing his long headtail down across his cranium. ?Evacuate the fortress. Take as many of the injured as you can.?

?What are you--?

?JUST DO IT!? screamed the monster.

The messenger nodded silently, flattening down the front of his hair as he ran off to fulfill his orders.

Buu sighed and turned to the wall.

I?m sorry, Seventeen.

The two armies clashed front and center north of Hyperton Fortress as the Outcast General known as Cell Junior led the defensive line in standing put and await for the men to come crashing into them and breaking through their ranks.

The sound of death filled the eardrums of the men and women of both Dante and Outcast as they continued their ongoing struggle between one another, both returning blows and exchanging energy blasts back and forth.

In the center of it all stood the little winged creature, the General of the losing Unit who continued his fight despite the overwhelming odds.

?I won?t give up, I doubted myself for too long to give up now and accept defeat. The only defeat I shall accept is one brought on by death. No surrendering will be tolerated with myself,? roared the little freckled Outcast runt as he continued his defensive posture against the oncoming Dante Force.

With his blue energy sword in hand, Cell Jr. made quick work of most Dante men who crossed paths with the Cerulean Shelled Man who slashed with his sword as with such elegance and posture.

However Cell Junior was unsure if he was fighting a losing battle or a winning one, as he was unable to see anything due to his short size, to make matters worse, the bodies around him were stacking up one after the other making the floor a slippery one and unbalanced one.

?Need to end this quick,? mumbled CJ as he made his way around the battle looking for the opposing leader of Dante, all he could hope was he would see whoever it was and be able to take them out. Generally a Dante man who overwhelmed his allies and piled up the Outcast body count would be his guess but he was unable to find one.

In the search for the Dante General, a energy blast shot from a sniper rifle crashed into the chest of a Dante soldier who was standing beside Cell Junior as blood scattered outward from the man?s chest as CJ became covered in blood turning his body which was once blue with black freckles into a blue shell with red freckles.

{CRUNCH}

The lifeless body of the Dante soldier had toppled over and happened to have fallen on the winged Outcast leader as he was brought down to the floor by the sheer weight of the man twice his size and the flat footedness which caught the leader by surprise.

His energy sword had fallen out of his hand as the hilt bounced a few times before coming to a halt among the floor littered with bodies. Cell Junior was helpless as he struggled to lift the man off of him. There was nothing for him to do as he laid their helpless watching the men who stepped leapt over the body as it appear the Outcast leader had gone unnoticed among the dead.

Can it be? Thought Cell Jr. as he watched with each passing moment that no one had taken his head off or even blasted it in. CJ himself was unaware that from the soldiers above him he was unnoticeable as all that were visible was the head of the Outcast Commander, which happened to be covered in thick blood due to the man who?s chest exploded from the sniper shot and onto the little runt stuck below him.

All that was viewable to Cell Junior was the sky above, which by now was darkening as nightfall was closing in. The clouds were a dark gray perhaps rain was soon to be arriving, for all CJ knew, that would have been bad news to him. The blood gave him concealment among the dead, if it rains, his camouflage of blood which imitated his death among the real dead would wash away giving his hideout away.

For now all Cell Junior could do was wait and hope he would be freed.

She was dead.

Paige was now nothing more than another anonymous face on the list of casualties amassed during the tenure of the war. Her once beautiful visage had been ruined with a solitary round lucky enough to find its mark. Seventeen had been prepared to avenge her demise?prepared even so to sacrifice himself to the horde of soldiers who had taken Hyperton.

After all, Paige?s death had left the android without so much as a single reason to persevere. Without her, Seventeen was already dead, and he knew that fact all too well. The machine-hybrid exited a whirl of lights and collapsed in the center of an evacuated room. He was surrounded by the broken, bloodied forms of his fallen brothers-in-arms?their deaths a harbinger of what the rest of the battle would entail.

The Commander of the Outcasts slammed his fists down onto the unforgiving stone floor of the dark chamber and let out a silent dirge. Seventeen had failed not only to defend the soldiers who were entrusted to his care, but he had also letdown the woman with whom he loved more than anything. Her death was a symbol of his inability to function on even the most simplistic of scales.

The onyx-haired warrior pushed off the ground and wrenched his handgun from its holster next to his hip. The android lifted the gun slowly and placed it against the bottom of his chin?his index finger trembling as it dangled above the trigger. One bullet was the only thing that stood between Seventeen and freedom but was he being selfish? Had he not lectured Violet that suicide was not an option many moons prior?

?He?s in here!? The scream was that of a soldier marching under the blue colors of the Dante Forces. The machine-hybrid listened as the stampeding of boots grew closer, and the room was filled with a group of rifle-toting warriors. Seventeen let out a sigh as he closed his eyes and continued to wrestle with the impeding reality. Up until his bout with Minoshia, the android had maintained a level head and clear conscious.

The death of the konat had sent the cyborg spiraling into the darkest depths of his being?a realm where nothing made sense and his mind was nothing more than the shattered remnants of a mirror. No matter how hard Seventeen tried to piece together the fragments of his psyche, he would succeed only in cutting himself and shifting the images in new and uncomforting ways.

Seventeen could try as hard as he wanted to, but his efforts only managed to drive him mad. The machine-hybrid let out a soft lamentation as he tried to escape that cold dark place. He knew in his heart that he no doubt lacked the courage and strength to endure for much longer, so what was keeping him from pulling the trigger? The android could hear the soldiers behind him barking orders at him. Time slowed to a crawl as the atmosphere in the room reached a boiling point.

A single gunshot shattered everything, and a moment later, a body collapsed onto the blood-stained floorboards. Smoke wafted through the air?seeping from the barrel of Seventeen?s outstretched gun. For the moment, the onyx-haired warrior had escaped his personal hell. Without so much as a warning, the android fired upon the remaining soldiers.

The warriors tried to react to the impromptu onslaught, but the majority of them were silenced before they could so much as lift their rifles in protest. Those unlucky few who managed to counterattack the attack met their fate a heartbeat later?their fates sealed with a well-placed round sent barreling through their foreheads. A few bullets were squeezed off by one of the lucky soldiers, but the lethal stream of steel was diverted upward the moment the man was sent to his grave.

In a matter of fleeting beats, the group was nothing more than another pile of corpses to adorn the ensanguined halls and rooms of Hyperton Fortress. After a pause, Seventeen discarded the elegant handgun upon realization that its magazine was spent. Although he knew he was potentially clamoring for a lost cause, the android would be hard-pressed if he was going to allow himself to leave without verifying the safety of his remaining allies.

?I will not fail you,? Seventeen whispered, and with what little stability he had garnered, he exited the chamber in a swirl of light particles. Somewhere in the depths of the dilapidated fortress was the android?s best friend, and the Commander of the Outcasts would not be able to sleep at night unless he knew that he hadn?t failed Super Buu.
