God damn it! seriously. I JUST retired as admin at my own site so that I could play out my days here on chubbs. I've only been here a few months, but I have about 100 pages in word of work produced for aqua on this site already.. now, it's gone. The work for the tokens, the alliance work, the IC relations, PC3, the quests, EVERYTHING will now have been for absolutely nothing. Erased.

Personally, I never had a problem with the untoutchable super powers. I'm hear to build upon a story, and re-setting makes me start all over. It's the nature of the beast of a long time RPG like this and (even if they are ok with it) the super powers shouldn't have to lose all that they've EARNED. No one should.

Rather, I agree that you should just keep people's stats and allow customs and dissallow canons from this point on. AKA, if someone drops a cannon, that cannon char becomes unplayable. It would all work itself out in time and people wouldn't have to drop everything they've worked for on this site at the drop of a hat.

I honestly can't believe that some of the older members are ok with this. I've only been here for a few months and I'm totally opposed.

As a side, I've been a part of boards that were just as active as chubbs when they re-set and not one DBZ site asted a year beyond the re-set. Re-set's = death for DBZ RPGs. I don't think Chubbs would die... but it isn't a healthy decision in my opinion.

Just work in the new edits. Don't re-set. I've been doing this for ten years... I don't think I could take starting from scratch another time. If this happens, I'll likely just retire all together. We'll see.

I'm so torn on this topic. People who've known me on staff have known how against custom characters I've been.

Unfortunately, with such a losing interesting in Dragonball Z, Chubbs needs something new to keep interest. People can only write about DBZ characters for so long before losing interest. Custom characters would help stem the tide of people losing interest.

On the other hand, I hate the fact that we're all going to lose our characters. I love Broli. You can just look at my personal storyline to see how dedicated I am to him. If you rip away my character, I'm going to try my hardest to create a character as similar to Broli as I can imagine. I really don't see any reason why to take away our characters. Sure, some get passed around a lot, but how is that any reason for people who love their character and who have put a lot of time molding that character?

As for the power gap, don't you think there may be a better way to create a dynamic system that helps people catch up to super powers than to just wipe clean the entire slate? You're essentially saying that people who've been here for five years will be on the same level as people who've been here for five months. What about everything earned in those five years? How can you just take all of that away?

By the way, would the new system be like the VS system?

Well you aren't getting the full story here. There are some things that the Adminly Duo has asked I leave out.

More likely than not, you'll have the option to keep your canon characters but new joinees will be forced to take up customs.

Being here before the big switch will allow you to keep some of the things you've earned but stats will have to be reset as our current stats won't convert to the new system.

That's pretty much exactly what I suggested in my first post. Though, I'm keeping my damned token! You can't re-set the search for those sons of bitches again. The stats can go, I just don't want my writing to be for nothing. I play this game to build my character and I'd never want to switch from Aqua.

Though, if you guys gave me the numbers you're looking to switch to, I could likely come up with a conversion ratio if that's something you're interested in.
