Give people a choice at the beginning of this.

They can either use a canon, or a custom.

If they pick a Custom, they are not allowed to switch their characters ever, because since a Custom can be made up entirely to your wishes, completely, there's really no valid excuse.

If they pick a Canon, they will be allowed to switch to other Canons, but at the current penalties that we have now (that is to say, something that takes a new player about 3 months to work off). They may switch to a Custom, but if they do so, they will never be able to switch again, as per the rules above.

I think that would be fair >_>

It's more of the systematic change flavor. The way we measure stats is problematic and we are planning a change. But it's not like just reseting everything and starting over, your current abilities will be reflected in the new system.

WTF... did you delete my post Waff? I didn't flame or anything. Is sarcasim not allowed in my criticism? I'm sorry, but no one has truly explaiend to me how there is ANY reason to RP until April if we are resetting the stats. If you guys are just reworking the stats on a sliding scale, then that's something different. But everything up to this point has referenced a reset in April. Thus rendering all RP pretty much useless (Aside from IC development) until that point. But ultimately, this is a game, and there is no gain in wasting writing material for no reward stat wise, when you can wait a few months and get both the IC gain and the stat gain.

I'd disagree with that. The only valid reason people have to keep their canons is the history they've built up - and switching to another canon would totally void that reason. >_>

I also disagree with the 'never switching as a custom' thing. 'Cause people might change their mind. You can always keep the stat hit or whatever.

As long as we can keep our current characters if we want, as well as abilities, I'm cool. Stick with the 'apocalypse that kills some people but just horribly weakens others' thing. Not so sure about losing powerups - maybe if they're lost, a small compensation would be nice, but that might be asking a bit much since everyone's losing the rest of their stats.

I've known him for years... I don't see anything funny about it. He simply chooses to walk away from drama where as I confront it. He's dealt with enough drama in his RP experience, and I had to beg him to RP here in the first place. He was starting to like it, but something like this gives the site a very unstable image.
