That's where yor thinking is flawed. It's not to benifit the indivdual, well it is, but more so its for Chubbs. Staff make their decisions on whats best for chubbs, not the individuals who write here(though one can assume this goes hand in hand).

Also, I think it will be a lot of fun to try to stay on top of the ki list. Post you awesome personal training and actually move up in power. That'll be a first. Since you won't move at the exact same rate as everyone around you it will give you the ability to advance in power.

@ waff. I know what you guys are trying to do and I support it. Perhaps you don't understand what Im suggesting. Basically, im saying you take all current base ki levels, down size them on a consistant scale conducive to the new system such that those who have earned a higher PL still have some reward for all their work and devoted time. However, you make the conversion such that the "super powers" are reachable within a certain amount of time. Point blank, i dont desrve to be on the same level as rad or rei yet on chubbs. I havent earned it. Whether he wants it or not, he deserves to keep his top power level. What that is exactly, and how far ahead is up to you guys. Just set the conversion accordingly.

Likely, your items will be removed. Perhaps a static (the same for everyone) zeni refund will be included.

As for your conversion system, it is possible and will be considered.

The zeni compensation wouldnt work either. People like rad who have every item would just have enough zeni to buy up every new item and be right back on top again.

And as for the conversion.. honestly, just PM me some numbers (peramters of the new system) and I can work something out relating to the base ki. Formulas like this have been my bread and butter on RPGs since forever.

OK, didn't get the static part. I guess that's better than nothing. here's a suggestion, how abut you teir people off in ki level. So, for example, group people in groups of 5 or ten and give them corresponding ki levels.

So let's say you want to start everyone with a ki level of 1,000,000.
All the teirs would be members who where here pre-switch.
The first teir would be the last ten on the ki list. Their ki level could start at 1,100,000. The next ten would be the secnd teir and they could start at 1,200,000. Etc etc. I dunno where you want to start ki level at, but you get the basic idea. You can go more in deapth with this, breaking it down by individual rank at the time ofthe switch.

aka: the last place on the roster gets ki level 1,001,000
second to last place gets 1,002,000
and work it all the way up to Rad.

Make sense?

This is sounded more similar to a system I know quite well; it was one used on KissDBZ way back.

Every post(or about that), would be graded and the staff would be like "raise you ki by X%"(Ki was the only stat we had).

and Toma, I knew what he was saying. what I was saying is that Rad has every item in the RPG currently. If he is allowed to keep those items, he will be uber at re-set. If he is given zeni for them, he can buy new items and be uber. Any combo there of would make him uber. But he clarified and said that peoplewith items would simply be given 2,000 falt out. static. no more no less.

IMO, if characters are already getting to keep some of their abilities on the transfer, that's plenty of a beginning boost.

Seriously, for such a great group of writers, some of you are placing waaaaaaay too much emphasis on zeni and powerlevel. That's my opinion, anyway.

Well Im not so worried about the zeni, but as I said above, the power level iswhat makes this a game and, for me, is what makes this worth doing in the first place.

You take a person's current rank and that determines how much they start out with after the switch. this will eliminate the major gapping whole the super powers have between themsevles and others and still recognizes previous accomplishments.


basicalyl the "+ 1" or + "x" whatever will be up to you guys depending on where you start ki levels at and how far you're willing to put rad ahead of the pack. Hoestly, i dont care how much the + "x" is, i'd just like the see the current rankings transfer over in some form. People earned their ranks through their writing and i think it's only fair to reward that.

No the stats would be gone, set to like 1. You'd keep your character, history, and possibly some techs.

So our items, money, and stats will be wiped leaving us with nothing to show fo the time we've vested in Chubbs save for vague IC references to characters that, on average, won't even exist any more because their users will be switching to custom chars? I can't believe some of you older chars are ok with this. Every power boosting effort you've ever made on this site will be rindered a waste of time by this change. Yeah, i know we are supposed to play here for the sake of writing but in the end this IS a GAME where power is the ultimate indicator of progress. I'm not so thrilled at the prospect of being told that all the rewards for the hours of writing I've done will be erased. I'd like a little more than a character vault reference in my history to show for my efforts. I would think most of the older chars would feel the same if not even stronger... but i guess it's just me.

Every power boosting effort I've made has been in vain.

The fact of the matter is, right now, I could spend months and months doing quests and acquiring TP, and say I'd acquired 40 TP from all those, someone that joined a month before me would still have the advantage in base powerlevel. No matter how hard I try, within the current system the only way of becoming the most powerful is to wait for the veterans to leave.

Personally I'm glad the staff finally seem to have come to their senses. Waffuru is right - it's gotten to the point where staff were basically saying "we'll balance out the fact that it's impossible to progress beyond your current status with the loophole 'power doesn't matter!'".

As for the IC relationships thing - those inevitably break down anyway as people leave and stuff. The only difference is that when people rejoin, old relationships won't be screwed up. A good portion of people (myself included, as long as the option stands, at least for a while) are going to be staying as their current characters.

That said, simply moving the powerlevels closer together might be a nice compensator. As in, if your current powerlevel is 2 million over the starting ki, that gets condensed and 5% of that gets added to your new starting powerlevel. Or something like that - you get the idea. Really as long as I can keep some or all of my techs, I'm not too bothered.

Question, though - will Kaioken count as a tech? I know it's a multiplier, but it may be coming under some new ruling ... or at least it was, when I last suggesting a renovation for it. >_> Just wond'rin.
