Extremely Important
I'm not particularly bothered about losing stats. Those are just points you accrue weekly, and like you said, they don't even matter anymore. I will be pissed off if I have to redo my Lord Vine training, though. I can take losing the Nirvana, Spiritken, everything else, but I'd like to have something to show for my past efforts besides the loss of my social life. >_>

I am just addressing the stupidity inherent in stressing over stats when they aren't even brought into account any longer.

Oh, and a question, seeing as how you're (probably) going to do a stat reset/makeover, what will happen to our Best Moves?

1. Do we keep 3?

2. Can we choose which?

3. If we switch to a custom we can change our moves, right?

Just asking, I have 4 and don't use any, so yeah. Angry
Wow. Thirty pages. OK, can someone just give me a summary of what's been posted?

Also, based on the info I've read, this seems like a REALLY good idea. I don't really like my character that much, I just picked him because I didn't know so many others I would've rather had were open. So making a custom character would be great for me.
Since I really don't care one bit about my ki this really isn't going to affect me I just have one question. Will the universe as we know it now stay as it is. Meaning same planets, guilds, all of the RP fodder we have now? I assume this change is simply going to affect power and characters but nothing else. Am I correct to assume this or not?

I've been a member for 7 years, not only that but I helped develop Chubbs into what it is today- I can say with absolute confidence that this is the best thing to happen. An evolution like this has been long in coming, and will bring diversity to the RPG that hasn't been seen before.

I stand by any changes wholeheartedly, with the exception of the aforementioned remove all canon thing that I've already ranted about. Despite being upset on that topic, I have been reading what you guys are saying. Again, I'll reemphasis how much I trust it when Kakarot says that this is the best thing to happen.

Good luck, staff.
Yeah, with Reijin's suggested move point compensation for activity from now till the reset in mind, I'm going to back out of this thread and let staff just handle the gritty details. I wish you guys the best of luck with getting everything ironed out and, though I doubt you'll want it, my mind is always available for picking.

I'd also like to apologize if I've pissed anyone off with my posts in this thread. I just saw that since my particpation, 24hours ago, began in this thread my rating in my profile has dropped a lot... but it is what it is I guess. Anyways, I think staff has the basic idea of the general objections everyone wanted to voice and are working on ironing things out for the best possible answer in the dev. board. I personally know what you're trying to get at SB (you're simply defending your suggestion against what you consider to be insufficient rebuttals) but I was told that staff doesn't need that right now. I'm certain they are doing their best to work out something to try and make everyone as happy as possible. I know it seems conveinant for me to speak as peace makeer now after Reijin's compromise... but I see their plight on the other hand and maybe we should just let them alone for a bit so they can gather up as much of the basic details as possible. AKA, let's stop replying to this thread (which I'm willing to do now that I see a reason for RPing from now till the reset on the horizon) and let staff work up a more solid foundation for answering our more detailed questions.

What would you have done if you had ended up quitting a few months ago?

Let's face it. One day, we're all going to leave Chubbs, and by your logic, we won't have any compensation for that time, since stats/techs/ships don't mean anything outside of Chubbs.

In my eyes, all of the important compensation for my roleplaying over the past two years can't be taken away by a reset.

wait a fucking minute...you're telling me my training here isn't going to affect my power level outside of chubbs...you crummy turds! I QUIT!

I don't mind the change...in fact I welcome to be the first black saiyan or half saiyan. Whichever...I'm going to pwn while listening to Public Enemy and Flavor Flav....YEA BOI!
Aqua, you missed it. SB didn't like that compromise at all. He wants to keep some of his old Techs AND start gaining points RIGHT NOW.

So its now thrown out as well, as yet another 'failure'.

It did prove my point, though, in that everyone is going to view the staff as the enemy, and yet you guys are really fighting each other. We are just trying to make sense of it all.

There might be pieces of the Chubbs History that gets lost or something, but on the whole I think it'll stay intact.

Usual disclaimer: that's not for sure, but there's a decent chance of that happening.

I'm sure you can appreciate that I have very little desire to go through thirty pages of posts to understand what this is about. Could a staff member summarise what this is and post it again, and lock it so no one can reply to it so I can actually read it?

Thanks, thought I got skipped over.

I was thinking about this at work today. I think it's easy for members to see a change that they hate and immediately think that staff is the enemy. In fact, everyone, including me, has to keep in mind that staff wants to make Chubbs better. Kakarot's post is what hit me so hard because it reminded me of that fact, a fact that I've known for forever and should have thought immediately before jumping to the throats of certain staffers. Staff doesn't want to hurt the RPG. They want to make it better. They want to revolutionize it in a way that it can be a hundred times more efficient, fun, and enjoyable than it already is. Or at least, that is what staff is supposed to do. The motives of particular staff members are still questionable to me. Regardless, I think members of staff, even those not exactly qualified in my eyes, will rise to the occasion. As I said before, I think this staff has the potential to be the best we've ever had at Chubbs, and I can't wait to see what you guys can do. Just be willing to listen to the members, too. Otherwise, keep on chuggin'.

Cell, just read the first post. It's been updated to reflect the discussion that has occurred throughout the pages of posts. Keep in mind that nothing is final.
What are you talking about Reijin? No one objected to your suggestion to fix the problem of RPing from now till the reset. In fact, SB said he liked it and agreed with it. What you guys are arguing about is something entirely different and should not effect what we came up with in the least. If SB wants his old techniques... that's his own baby to argue but accepting or denying it has nothing to do with us getting something for RPing before the reset.

edit: as a side note, Im glad that I did not post any RPs today. I knew it your suugestion was too good to be true.

Nothing has been officially agreed to, by the way.

Just to let you know, I'm supportive of a complete reset. Smile
I understand that this stuff takes time but you're going to have to give members some type of declarative statement regarding what we'll get for our RPing from now till the reset if you expect IC work to continue until April.

I'm not saying everyone is going to stop RPing, but I knowof some people, myself included, who plan on doing just enough to keep their characters unless they know for sure that they will get actual reward for RPing until the reset.

edit: yes mr Buu you've said that. What I'm talking is about is the time span from today until April when we reset. Why should people roleplay actively if everything from now until then is going to be erased and we are all going to have nothing to show for it. i too supporte the full reset, but that isn't what I'm talking about.

It`s not an April Fools joke. It`s one of the master pranks which staff has pulled off countless of times. I`m preety certain beacuse even staff knows better then to "clean the slate". If anything, they would be better of using a WoW-like system.
