I need advice
#1
Ki storm: The user lifts their hand in the air, charging a giant ball. Then they shoot ki blasts out of the ball and into the air. The blasts soon hit the ground and the foe and do some good damage.

Hows that? I NEED ZENI! That was a move I made up to try to defeat Vi. I need money bad so I told you.

Grand Cross

The Grand Cross is an offensive attack that utilizes compacted ki energy to execute. By crossing his arms in front of himself like an "X," King Cold will charge ki energy into his forearms, compacting the energy tighter and tighter. A white glow will begin to emanate from the changeling's forearms as the attack is being prepared. Once enough energy has been channeled, King Cold can throw his arms outward at his target, relinquishing a very fast, slicing cross-shaped energy attack. It may not be immensely powerful, but it is very fast moving, and has a limited homing capacity. When it connects with its target, it will attempt to slice through it. If it is unable to, the Grand Cross will detonate. It usually leaves a cross-shaped mark where it has struck.

Grapple Beam

King Cold uses this attack to shoot a long, thin stream of energy from his hand. He can wield one of these beams or two (one in each hand) though this requires more energy and concentration. Upon touching an opponent, these ki 'tendrils' wrap around the unfortunate victim's arms, legs, or neck. This can make it difficult to move and breathe, leaving them open for attack. In addition, the Beams can be used as grappling hooks, latching onto various objects.

Eh, its a good move in theory, but you're trying to throw too many things into one move. It leaves too many "what if" situations. If certain conditions constantly have to be met in order for the technique to work, then you're shooting yourself in the foot, rping-wise. Just remember: simple is better. I used to have an ultra-mega-supa complicated move (Stellar Cataclysm) but when I used it in a rp, I realized I HATED trying to describe everything that was going on. It didn't make sense for all that to be able to happen.

Also, the wording makes it a bit too vague. Whenever I'm thinking up a move, I ask myself "what would someone rping with or against me be able to do with this?" If it seems like it'd be hard for them to write with, tweak it until you think it's manageable.

Nevertheless, the move is good, if it were multiple moves broken apart, and then made a combo like this. Combos rely on conditions being met, best moves shouldn't. You could make a move such as "Shadow Field" that gives him that field of shadows around himself. Could be VERY fun to rp with when its nighttime. Offers a lot of opportunities. Then you can move onto a cloning move, and then only a clone "trap" like you were thinking.

Or, ignore me and go with your move. It's your choice anyways Tongue

It's his move and it's something that is normally doen for free, not always paid.

The best kind of moves are the simple ones. Ki techniques in which you create 67 whips that travel around your body in varying degrees of centrifigul force, teleporting in and out of portals, and simultaneously raping your opponent's bellybutton, eyesockets, and saliva glands is just awkward.

That said, I don't have any move ideas to offer. If I did, I'd use them myself.

I agree with 20. I dislike typing how my character actually pulls off a move in the description (Super Buu cups his hands, knees bent slightly, etc) because it might be different each time. I don't think the 'whips' are necessary for the shadows attack, if you're going to use it. Just have the shadows and King Cold looking like one.
