NPCing

In the past couple of weeks (and the past couple of days, specifically) the staff has gotten a lot of requests about making a special place for someone's cannon character. I understand that everyone has a lot of emotional stake in their character, but not everyone can be the leader of the largest criminal organization in the universe, or the guardian of a race, or a universal super star ultimate playboy.

As has already been stated, we're not going to do anything to people's cannon characters. They will still exist in the Chubbs universe and you're free to use your own character if you want to. The only limitations on this will be using other people's characters without permission (to any real degree, mind you. if someone wants to RP seeing Rad at the local Taco Bell as they were walking to Capsule Corp, that's no big deal) and that you won't be able to rewrite any of the pre-established history.

So, even if I give permission to someone to RP Rad, that doesn't mean that they can suddenly say that Raditzu never met 18 and was never a Super Saiyan. That wouldn't fly.

So if you have questions about cannon characters as NPCs, post them here.

I plan on revisiting my old saga that I didn't finish (as Recoome), and it has a lot of NPC's and stuff in it. Can I go back and finish it as another character?

And would references to the Recoome I used be alright. They wouldn't be vivid, just like... allusions?

Can you go back and finish the saga? Yeah.

Can you use your Recoome? That's a little stickier. I would suggest PMing the current Recoome and explaining how you would be using his character and if he had any problems with it.

No, not using... it'd just be kinda like "on this day a red giant fought a blah blah" kinda deal... like old geezers telling a story? Or maybe little 'easter eggs' like a skeleton with the clothes of my old Recoome laying around... stuff like that.

I'm assuming this works with our old NPC's as well? I plan on using Pring again and making him a much bigger aspect of my cutoms life then he currently is in Mino's life. So I assume I will be able to correct?

There won't be any changes to how you can use non-cannon (ie. "made up") NPCs. If you're using Action Jackson, the super saiyan soldier, as an NPC in your writing right now, then there's no OOC reason why you couldn't continue to use him after the reset.

Will we be able to claim pictures for NPCs we use. Like in the character vault, some people have bios of NPCs they use (i think)... could we use a picture (in the same fashion as artistic interpretation) as a visual as well?

Sure, but "claiming" a picture might be going too far. Maybe a random pic is okay, but taking a popular cartoon character is a little much

No, ep1c. You only own a character if you go into the turnover owning that character. So if you go in as ep1c, you own nobody

I've been pondering on switching characters now for awhile, I was actually leaning towards Dende. But w/ turnover I'm sure he's probably staff NPC'd, correct? Or can I go for him?

Dende is not an NPC anymore, because Kami took over as guardian.
